Continuous-wave infrared generation based on nonlinear frequency conversion is described. Broadly tunable infrared radiation was generated from 4 to 19 mu m by difference-frequency mixing of two optical lasers in AgGaS2 or GaSe crystal. Related techniques encountered in power conversion efficiency, synchronously phase-matched infrared wavelength scan, extension of phase-matchable infrared spectral coverage, power-balanced detection, etc, are discussed. applications of this nonlinear generation source to spectroscopy, as well as to environmental air monitoring are presented. Developing applications for sensor networks is a challenging task. Most programming systems narrowly focus on programming issues while ignoring that programming represents only a tiny fraction of the typical life cycle of an application. Furthermore, application developers face the prospect of investing a lot of time in writing code that has "nothing" to do with the actual application logic. A lot of this code is related to different life cycle concerns such as distributed programming issues or runtime services (e.g. group communication or time synchronisation). In this paper we introduce an engineering method that simplifies the development of sensor network applications by providing comprehensive life cycle support for programming as well as ongoing evolutionary modification of embedded applications throughout the application life cycle. The proposed engineering method is realised in form of a concrete system called RuleCaster. To verify the utility of the engineering method and RuleCaster we use a scenario-based evaluation *** 2007 ACM.

Center of Gravity (COG) analysis is an integral and cognitively demanding part of developing the course of action (COA) in military operational planning. However, the COG may be an abstract concept, or directly assaulting the COG is not feasible. Therefore, the critical vulnerabilities (CV) which influencing the COG must be determined. To do so, this paper proposes a COG network model based on the improved ANP. The importance of this work is that it augments the ANP to support rapid decision-making and overcome the subjectivity of human, and it uses the coordination theory to identify the dependencies of targets. Finally, a case study is conducted to show how this model is used to analyze the COG and generate corresponding actions.

The nonlinear vibration analysis related to viscoelastic damper is investigated for the new whole-spacecraft passive vibration isolator. The stepped sinusoidal sweep test is performed and the results reveal the nonlinearity of the system. The nonlinear motion equation is developed. The frequency response equation is derived by the method of harmonic balance. The experiment of various excitation levels are carried out contrasting with numerical simulations. The nonlinear influence factors to the vibration isolation system are argued and the identification results explain the effect parameters on the performance of the vibration isolator. The research work is of significant implications for the analysis and design of passive vibration isolator for a wide range of practical applications.
