This paper introduces an advanced approach to controlling a dual-star induction motor (DSIM), employing a direct torque control (DTC) with a nonlinear model predictive speed controller to elevate its overall performance. The proposed control system enhances the traditional DTC technique by incorporating a predictive controller, this entails optimizing a cost function using the Taylor series expansion articulated through the Lie derivative. Through extensive simulations conducted in Matlab/Simulink, the efficiency of the suggested approach is investigated in various tests, and a comprehensive comparative study is made, the proposed NMP-DTC exhibits robustness against sudden disruptions, including variations in load torque and uncertainties in the electrical and mechanical parameters of DSIM, and demonstrates significant reductions in torque and current ripples, offering promising prospects for enhancing DSIM operations across a wide array of electrical drive applications.

In order to solve the "dimension curse" and higher-order nonlinear, the paper proposes the discrete approximate iteration, and uses it to solve the continuum dynamic programming. Firstly, according to the network method, discretizes the state variables and transforms the model into multiperiod weighted digraph. Secondly, uses the max-plus algebra to solve the minimal path that is the admissible solution. At last, based on the admissible solution, we continues iterating until the two admissible solution is near. The paper also proves the convergence of the method.

Many real-time distributed collaborative applications are emerging that require exchange of critical sensor data among geographically distant end users under resource-constrained network conditions. The QoS requirements, e.g., required bandwidth, latency, acceptable data quality, and reliability are interdependent, and critical to the operation of these applications. This paper presents an AWON (Application-aWare Overlay Networks) architecture for deploying application-a ware services in an overlay network to best meet the application requirements over the available overlay networking infrastructure. An application programming interface (API) is presented to facilitate development of applications within the AWON architectural framework. The API supports the configuration of overlay nodes for in-network application-aware processing. Application-defined plug-in modules are use to deploy application-specific functionality at each overlay node. The API also enables communication between application and the overlay routing protocol for the desired QoS support. The effectiveness of the AWON architecture and the API is demonstrated for a real-time weather radar data dissemination application using planetlab. Experimental results show that AWON-based application-aware services significantly improve the quality of the content delivered to the end users in bandwidth-constrained conditions.

The paper proposes and analyzes a scalable model of an associative distributed shared memory for massively parallel architectures. The proposed model is hierarchical and fits the modern style of structured parallel programming. If parallel applications are composed of a set of modules with a well-defined scope of interaction, the proposed model can induce a memory access latency time that only logarithmically increases with the number of nodes. Experimental results show the effectiveness of the model with a transputer-based implementation.

Ygdrasil is a programming framework used by artists and computer scientists worldwide to create networked multi-user virtual reality (VR) worlds and tele-immersive art projects. Recently added advanced rendering modules and scripting language improvements extend the user's creative control. This paper describes the development of the VR art project Rutopia 2 using these new features.

This article presents a complete set of solutions for a class of global optimization problems. These problems are directly related to numericalization of a large class of semilinear nonconvex partial differential equations. in nonconvex mechanics including phase transitions, chaotic dynamics, nonlinear field theory, and superconductivity. The method used is the so-called canonical dual transformation developed recently. It is shown that, by this method, these difficult nonconvex constrained primal problems in R-n can be converted into a one-dimensional canonical dual problem, i.e. the perfect dual formulation with zero duality gap and without any perturbation. This dual criticality condition leads to an algebraic equation which can be solved completely. Therefore. a complete set of solutions to the primal problems is obtained. The extremality of these solutions are controlled by the triality theory discovered recently [D.Y. Gao (2000). Duality Principles in Nonconvex Systems: Theory, Methods andapplications, Vol. xviii, p. 454. Kluwer Academic Publishers. Dordrecht/Boston/London.]. Several examples are illustrated including the nonconvex constrained quadratic programming. Results show that these problems can be solved completely to obtain all KKT points and global minimizers.

In this paper, we present a dynamic programming algorithm that runs in polynomial time and allows us to achieve the optimal, non-overlapping segmentation of a long RNA sequence into segments (chunks). The secondary structure of each chunk is predicted independently, then combined with the structures predicted for the other chunks, to generate a complete secondary structure prediction that is thus a combination of local energy minima. The proposed approach not only is more efficient and accurate than other traditionally used methods that are based on global energy minimizations, but it also allows scientists to overcome computing and storage constraints when trying to predict the secondary structure of long RNA sequences.
