Due to increasing focus on climate change and stress on carbon neutrality the role of renewable energy is continuously increasing. With the incorporation of distributed generators and electrical vehicles, there is a huge effect on the operation characteristics of the distribution network thereby making fault diagnosis much more complicated. Nowadays, for the smartification of the distribution grids, advanced telecommunication technologies and high frequency sensors are being installed in the distribution network. Therefore an appropriate fault diagnosis strategy is essential which fully utilizes the equipment resources of the grid so that the effect of fault on the distribution system and its component can be mitigated. Furthermore, the fast detection and localization of faults can help in quicker isolation and restoration of supply which will not only enhance the power quality but also increase the reliability of the network. In this paper, a study on various techniques of fault detection, localization, and classification in active distribution systems is presented. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2024.

This paper describes a cloud distribution forecasting model based on deep convolutional neural network (CNN) for application of forecasting photovoltaic power generation (PV) output. PV output information is used for stable operation of the electricity grid and electricity trading markets. It is important to forecast cloud distribution because PV output varies mainly affected by clouds position and irradiation. In our previous research, satellite images were used for the input of the forecasting model. However, clouds appear and disappear from time to time by some factors such as topography, temperature, and humidity. In this paper, ground altitude information which is geopotential altitude is added to the input of the forecasting model to improve the forecasting accuracy. Geopotential altitude is a height referenced to earth’s mean sea level. Because the altitude is provided as two-dimensional data, it is suitable for the forecasting model which treats with images. The forecasting results with August dataset show some improvements in terms of the forecasting accuracy. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The term "cloud computing" refers to a vast network of linked, virtually hosted, and easily updatable computer resources. That are capable of consisting of a number of different apps and offering a number of different services to customers, and that have the potential to do so. Customers are required to pay for the cost of using the Services in accordance with the company's "pay-for-use only" policy. However, there are certain firms, such as Google Inc, that provide customers with particular free storage space even though the services provided by the company are limited, specifically with regard to the public cloud. A third-party service provider frequently owns and maintains the infrastructure required to run cloud computing services. But because more and more data and files pertaining to individuals and businesses are being stored in the cloud, worries have started to grow about how safe it actually is. Among these are the protection of software for virtualization and distributed computing, the safety of application software, the administration of identities, and the authentication and restriction of access. Nevertheless, efficient user authentication is the most essential need of cloud computing, as it limits unauthorized usage of a cloud server. cloud computing has become increasingly popular in recent years. In this research, we present a new authentication method between users and online computing systems that is based on the suggested secure hash algorithm (SHA-3) and makes use of the lightweight Sosemanuk method. We created this technique. That system is going to be known as the SoSha3 system. The design that has been proposed for the system deals with data in three different sizes: 128, 256, and 512 bits. In order to make these authentication systems suitable for cloud computing at high rates, some modifications were made to them. Green computing and cloud computing have been two important trends in the ICT sector in recent years. Green computing suggests that the information and communications technology (ICT) business has become a substantial energy user and, as a result, a major producer of CO2 emissions. cloud computing enables the purchasing of IT equipment as a service with no upfront expenses. In this study, the confluence of these two developments, green cloud computing, will be examined first based on existing published research, which show that cloud servers are the most environmentally friendly alternative for providing services. Private cloud hosting may be outsourced, allowing businesses to operate more effectively. In addition, three case studies of cutting-edge enterprises providing green hosting services are provided, and incentives influencing their resource development are examined. The findings show that there is now no market demand for green vps hosting because the primary incentive for businesses is cheap pricing. Green service providers should demonstrate their greenness using clear efficiency indicators, develop green service level agreements, and compete on greenness. It is therefore up to end users to demand more green online services, resulting in a need for green cloud computing and green cloud solutions. © 2022 IEEE.

The attractive features of cloud computing has lead to its widespread adoption in various sectors like healthcare, ecommerce, banking, power, education etc. However, attacks can put the availability of services of such crucial sectors in danger. One of the security concerns is due to distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) which is one of the deadliest attacks from past years. This paper proposes a novel approach to mitigate DDoS attacks using a Turing test based on gesture verification. By challenging clients with gesture-based captchas, the system aims to differentiate between legitimate users and attacking IoT devices or bots. The performance evaluation of proposed method has been done by considering Yo-Yo attack with synthetically generated traffic. The findings show that the suggested approach demonstrates superior speed and cost-effectiveness compared to other existing state-of-the-art methods, offering a promising solution for safeguarding cloud services. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

Due to the clean, effective, but reliable power they supply, substations have growing in popularity. Substations required tankers power in order to use the saved fuel during emergencies or peak loads. Given that dc microgrid will be dominant energy resource with in coming, the battery should be geared toward producing power. Batteries are utilized throughout the day, especially during rush hour and emergency situations. There are various battery types, including batteries, lion capacitors, etc. New systems like hybrid cars and other devices are constrained by the difficult challenge of considered as the ability capacity for microgrids. To acquire the best battery design for micro - grid, it is critical to understand several various properties such as standby time, energy efficiency, and total independence. A proven method for integrating and optimizing various energy sources and characteristics for the long battery sizing is blended time varying (MILP). Inside this effort, a brand-new Style. For instance, datasets are presented. To determine the ideal battery, computational approach called Support Vector Machine (SVM) based CNN is employed. The suggested machines learning-based Typical's response to feature selection techniques is assessed. The effectiveness of the top six feature selection algorithms is examined. The test data show that the approach performs better when types of filters are used. © 2023 IEEE.

To prevent the serious impact on production efficiency caused by service interruption, data loss, and other issues resulting from server faults, this paper proposes a server fault prediction model named Wavelet Packet Transform Probabilistic Neural Network(WPT-PNN). WPT-PNN loosely mixes wavelet packet transform and probabilistic neural network to achieve quick fault localization and signal denoising effects. The proposed model is validated using server operational data gathered. The experimental results suggest that the WPT-PNN model can effectively manage the challenges of complicated, non-stationary, and noisy signals in the feature extraction stage and extract signal features reliably. In the fault classification prediction stage, our method improves fault prediction accuracy to 81%, and limits the error range within [-2, 4], better matching the requirements for precise and low false-positive fault prediction in servers. © 2023 IEEE.

distributed generation involves low scale power generation at or near load centers, commonly using renewable resources. Rooftop solar photovoltaic installation provides clean energy using an already existing infrastructure. This paper proposes a solar photovoltaic installation in the Faridabad district in the state of Haryana, India. The solar plants are grid connected and are proposed for installation in eight academic institutions. These institutions are having sufficient area for large scale power generation and are geographically located throughout the district. The area available for solar panel installation is determined by surveying. The proposed solar plants are grid connected so as to overcome the intermittency in solar availability. Tata Power Solar System’s solar modules having peak power 310Wp are selected which are connected to ABB’s 500 kWac inverter. The proposed system is simulated as per the data available with METEONORM 7.2 on PVSYST 6.88 software tool which gives a total 154,849 MWh energy generated per year. The results obtained can serve as a reference for Smart Cities mission and also for generating clean energy for rural areas. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2024.

Through continuous exploration of business development, not only can the traditional business model be improved, but also a new business model of infrared detection and background real-Time status evaluation can be established by using the standardized operation platform, which greatly improves the efficiency of on-site detection, improves the level of lean management of equipment, and makes full use of the advantages of team expert resources. Effectively promote the continuous development of the new infrared detection business model in the power industry. © 2022 IEEE.
