With the access of various loads and distributed sources, the load composition and features are complicated. In order to grasp the load composition of the distribution area and carry out advanced applications, the load library is established. However, the poor generalization ability of the load library leads to difficulty adapting to different distribution networks. This paper proposes a load library construction and self-learning method based on cloud-Edge collaboration. Firstly, a cloud-Edge collaboration is proposed by distributing the data and resources to improve the generalization ability of the load library. Secondly, a cloud-side load library construction method is proposed by analyzing the representative load features. A data-driven load identification is carried out based on load features and cloud-side load library. Then, a self-learning method based on the deviation degree is proposed. The deviation degree is calculated online in the edge to correct the cloud-side load library. Finally, the proposed methods are verified the feasibility using actual load data. The results show that the scheme proposed in this paper improves the adaptability of cloud-side load library in different distribution networks, and improves the accuracy of advanced applications based on cloud-side load library.

As energy consumption rises, so do greenhouse gas emissions which result in harming our environment. As a result of the integration of renewable energy sources into power networks monitoring and managing the increasing load, demand is crucial. Microgrids have been identified as a possible structure for integrating the rapidly expanding distributed power generating paradigm. Various academics already have offered a significant number of strategies to fulfill the rising load requirement. The major disadvantage of these models was the scheduling of devices and was power generation capabilities which make traditional schemes complex and time-consuming. In order to overcome these problems, this paper proposed an effective approach for three power generating systems;these are PV systems, wind systems, and fuel cell systems. The Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO) algorithm optimizes the scheduling process by analyzing and selecting the optimal fitness value for various device combinations. The fitness value that is closest to the load requirement is picked as the best. In terms of power generating capacities, the performance of the suggested GWO model is determined and compared to the standard model in MATLAB simulation system. The simulated experiments demonstrated that the proposed approach is much more productive and efficient to meet cost and load demands with reduced time processing and complexity. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

As the core building block of blockchain technology, Byzantine Fault Tolerance (BFT) consensus has gathered renewed attention during the past decade. A large number of BFT consensus protocols have been proposed since its inception in the 1980s, the best-known of which is Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance (PBFT). Generally speaking, PBFT consists of two sub-protocols: normal-case protocol and view-change protocol. However, it requires $7 \delta$ for a client to commit a request in the normal case, where $\delta$ represents the actual network delay. If a request happens to go through the view change process, it will take additional $7 \delta$ for a client to commit a request. To reduce the consensus latency, we propose a novel BFT consensus protocol named EBFT, which introduces the shortcut replies to the consensus design. With these shortcut replies, EBFT reduces the normal-case latency and view-change latency to $5 \delta$ and $2 \delta$, respectively. Extensive experiments are conducted to evaluate EBFT, whose results demonstrate its effectiveness.

Ambient Internet of Things (A-IoT), which harnesses ambient backscatter communication, has emerged as a critical technology for sixth-generation (6G) mobile networks. In this study, we introduce a novel heterogeneous network-oriented system that integrates reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) with A-IoT devices. The system's complexity arises from the highly obstructed environments where signals undergo multiple reflections via the IRS before reaching the receiver, resulting in a non-trivial optimization challenge. To tackle this issue, we propose a sophisticated alternating optimization algorithm that leverages machine learning principles to approximate the optimal solution for maximizing system throughput. Our analysis assumes Rayleigh-distributed channel gains for both forward and backscatter links. Through rigorous numerical analysis and simulation, we delve into the intricacies of how various system parameters impact rate performance. The simulation results reveal that the integration of RIS in A-IoT systems significantly reduces the required transmit power at base stations while enhancing the overall communication efficiency. Furthermore, our proposed algorithm exhibits superior performance when compared to existing methods, achieving comparable optimization results with reduced computational overhead. This underscores its potential for enabling cost-effective, energy-efficient, and low-complexity communication solutions in future 6G networks.

In this study, we aim to realize an assistive technology that can present necessary information to elderly people with cognitive concerns or dementia in a way that is adaptable to their home life. To achieve this goal, we propose ALPS (Assisted Living by Personalized Speaker), a system that presents appropriate information according to various locations and times in the home. We installs IoT speakers with motion sensors at key locations in the home, and by linking them to ECA(Event-Condition-Action) rules in the cloud, ALPS provides information based on location and time in voice. We implemented a prototype of the proposed ALPS and conducted a case study of two elderly people. As a result, it was found that by defining ECA rules for each problem, the system can present information according to the individual's lifestyle.

Compared with serial computing, parallel computing can execute multiple instructions at a time, which can increase computing speed and expand the scale of solutions, thereby solving large and complex computing problems. The training of computer talents is also a complex system engineering. Therefore, we propose a parallel dual-system training model for computer talents with industry-education integration and quality-development. Different from general parallel computing, the model we proposed has both temporal and spatial parallelism. The temporal parallelism is reflected in the two system lines being carried out at the same time in the training process, while the spatial parallelism is reflected in the staggering of the two system lines in the same course. In industry-education integration system, we establish the cooperation between schools and enterprises in building a series of curriculums, including mobile application (MA), artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing (CC), big data (BD), innovation and entrepreneurship (IES), internships at enterprises (IE), to effectively improve students' technological foresight and mastery. Moreover, the quality-development system consists of the compulsory projects integrated with theoretical courses and the elective projects integrated with extracurricular practice, so as to improve students' comprehensive quality. In this model, the credits of courses in industry-education system accounts for 37.5%, quality-development system accounts for 32.7%, and other courses account for 29.8%. Practical results show that by applying this talent training model, the counterpart employment rate of computer science graduates in 2021 has increased by 10%, and the number of postgraduate admissions has increased by 80%, compared with graduates in 2020, the number of professional competition awards has increased by 15%, compared with students in 2020. © 2021 IEEE

Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) is widely adopted to predict bird strike events. To improve the parallel computing efficiency of the SPH approach, parallel computing was performed on the process of a bird striking the fan assembly. Since the cube-shaped domains aligned along the coordinate axes that are inherent in the decomposition algorithm may result in low computational efficiency, the effect of customized data partitioning on the efficiency is investigated. The results show that customized decompositions can minimize communication between processors and ensure the load balance during the simulation process. Besides, distributed computing with domain decompositions can present reasonable predictions at soft-impact damage, achieving consistent results within a range of less than 7% of the reference data derived from shared memory computing. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences. A pin defect detection method utilizing an enhanced YOLOv5 algorithm was introduced to enhance the efficiency of UAV inspection on overhead power transmission lines and bolster the detection rate of critical device defects within the lines. Aiming at the attributes of a sizable image dimensions and small detection target of UAV, a cascaded three-level network detection method is adopted. ConvNeXt Block was introduced to build CNeB Block and replace some C3 Block in Neck. The RepLKDeXt Block was constructed in combination with RepLKNet to replace C3 Block in the trunk and Neck, and a depth of 27×27 separable convolution was used to improve the effective receptive field and higher shape deviation. A dynamic convolution ODConv was added to replace the Neck part of the Conv, and all four dimensions of complementary attention were learned using the multidimensional attention mechanism and parallel strategy. The experimental results demonstrate that compared to the YOLOv5s network, the enhanced model achieves a mAP@0.5:0.95 of 70.5%, marking a 2.5 percentage point increase, with an AP@0.5 reaching 99.5%. Additionally, the model’s computational load is decreased by 1, parameters reduced by 4.77%, effectively enhancing the detection accuracy of power transmission line pins while also improving detection speed.
