Load balancing is one of the big challenges nowadays in cloud computing environment. End users requests distribute the load dynamically across multiple nodes. Load balancing among different virtual machines of different distributed system is very much important to improve efficiency in resource utilization. In this paper a Multi layer based load balancing approach has been proposed where traffic of incoming requests is managed using improved priority scheduling algorithm in multiple level of controlling while balancing the loads of different virtual machines in different clusters or data centers. Expected response time finding of each job to virtual machine and comparing the average response time with the existing algorithms of cloud load balancing has been discussed in this paper. The process of multilayer based approach for balancing load among all the virtual machines starting from dynamic load balancer and managed by Local cluster Scheduler (LCS), is better than existing load balancing algorithms has been shown in this paper. © 2019, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Offloading of all or part of any cloud service computation, when running processing-intensive Mobile cloud computing Services (MCCS), to servers in the cloud introduces time delay and communication overhead. Edge computing has emerged to resolve these issues, by shifting part of the service computation from the cloud to edge servers near the end-devices. An innovative Smart Cooperative Computation Offloading Framework (SCCOF), to leverage computation offloading to the cloud has been previously published by us [1]. This paper proposes SOSE;a solution to offload sub-tasks to nearby devices, on-the-go, that will form an "edge computing resource, we call SOSE_EDGE" so to enable the execution of the MCCS on any end-device. This is achieved by using short-range wireless connectivity to network between available cooperative end-devices. SOSE can partition the MCCS workload to execute among a pool of Offloadees (nearby end-devises;such as Smartphones, tablets, and PC’s), so to achieve minimum latency and improve performance while reducing battery power consumption of the Offloader (end-device that is running the MCCS). SOSE established the edge computing resource by: (1) profiling and partitioning the service workload to sub-tasks, based on a complexity relationship we developed. (2) Establishing peer2peer remote connection, with the available cooperative nearby Offloadees, based on SOSE assessment criteria. (3) Migrating the sub-tasks to the target edge devices in parallel and retrieve results. Scenarios and experiments to evaluate SOSE show that a significant improvement, in terms of processing time (>40%) and battery power consumption (>28%), has been achieved when compared with cloud offloading solutions. © 2019, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications engineering.

The main aim of this work is to present a multi-faceted cost model depending on server auto-scaling which is based on task requests waiting in queues. To survive for long period in the market, cloud service providers can adopt task—server consolidation. The reason for heavy carbon emanation is power used up on cooling infrastructures of cloud. The present work proposes a dynamic cost model with incentive, fine based on task request time and effect of resource sharing between various tasks to achieve maximum usage of server. Task requests are described at the time of registering with cloud service provider. cloud clients decide about their cost for service and incentives for the task. Various features are recognized in this profile that includes many weights for the service charge. Possibility of users getting back is also estimated. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2019.

cloud computing is the development of distributed computing, parallel computing and grid computing. cloud computing is a new distributed parallel computing environment or mode. The emergence of cloud computing makes the networking and service of data mining technology become a new trend. Clustering is different from classification. In the classification model, there are sample data whose class labels are known. The purpose of classification is to extract classification rules from the training sample set for class identification of objects whose class labels are unknown. In clustering, it is necessary to divide all data objects into clusters according to some measure without knowing the information about the classes of the target data in advance. Therefore, cluster analysis is also called unsupervised learning.

This paper presents a control algorithm for the balancing, the position and the yaw steering control of a mobile inverted pendulum robot (MIPR). The dynamic model is designed based on the Newtonian approach. The balancing controller is achieved by a Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model-based parallel distributed compensation (PDC), which uses the linear matrix inequality (LMI) technique. Position control is realized by a fuzzy adaptive Proportional-Derivative (PD) algorithm. PD controller is used for the yaw steering control. Through the simulation, all results demonstrate that the proposed control scheme is effective. © 2019 Association for computing Machinery.

In this paper, a new hybrid islanding detection method is presented for protecting the distributed system with unintentional islanding, with low-frequency current harmonic injection and over/under frequency relay for inverter-based multiple distributed generation (DG) systems. Low-frequency current harmonic component is injected into the system through the q-controller of the grid-side controller. The injected low-frequency current component causes the system frequency to deviate during islanding. This deviation separates islanding and non-islanding events. This paper evaluates the performance of this hybrid ROCOF relay when load and generation are matched and also at different active power imbalances. This paper will also clearly differentiate between islanding and non-islanding conditions for mixed types of DG’s connected to the grid. The test system results are carried out on the MATLAB/Simulink setting that shows the strength of this technique. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2019.

Growth and focus are towards the high-performance computing, and the paradigm shift for computational research is moving towards the data-centre-centric management of the application. During the last decade, the demand for high performance and timely responsive nature of the applications has increased to the peak and to match up with the demand every service provider has moved applications to the cloud data centre. Nevertheless, cloud data centres struggled to provide the desired response. The parallel research outcomes have demonstrated the uplifting of load balancing mechanism on cloud data centres. However, the architectural dependencies have been the bottlenecks to improve the performance of the load balancing algorithms. The optimal settings of the architectural components in data centres are yet to be proposed to standardize the framework with the proper justification of the hardware and maintainability cost. This paper proposes optimal dynamic and hierarchical hybrid data centre architecture to enhance the load balancing performance from the virtual components of the cloud data centres. It also proposes a performance comparison matrix to evaluate the performance of the existing data centre architectures and the proposed hybrid architecture. The final outcome of this paper is the simulated results from the optimal dynamic and hierarchical hybrid data centre architecture for virtual machine migration policy to be optimal to support the load balancing mechanisms. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2019.

Fault tolerance is a major concern to guarantee availability and reliability of critical services as well as application execution. Recently, due to rapid expansion of smart phone market and wireless communication environment, mobile devices are considered as resource for large scale distributed processing but there are several drawbacks, such as unstable wireless connection, limitation of data storage capacity, low communication bandwidth and frequent location changes. cloud systems differ from these previous frameworks in that they are designed to support large numbers of customer-oriented applications, each with different quality of service (QoS) requirements and resource consumption characteristics. As resource providers, mobile devices can join and leave the distributed computing environment unpredictably. This interrupts the undergoing operation, and the delay or failure of completing the operation may cause a system failure.
