The future power grid expected to accommodate and integrates all new kinds of distributed renewable energy generations, intelligent energy management systems to accommodate the ever growing energy demand. This fact leads the trend of power grid to shift to the Smart grid that uses advanced communication, smart meters, sensors and information technologies to create an automated, intelligent and widely distributed energy delivery network. A huge amount of row data is collected by smart meters and sensors from the end user and different part of the network to the computation system. Subsequently, this considerably big amount of data must be processed, analyzed and stored in a cost effective ways. In this manner, an enormous pool of computing resources and storage must be provided to compute this vast amount of data. Researchers have been suggesting different solutions. A distributed and parallel computing techniques for future power system, grid computing [1], fast parallel processing of the mass data in cloud computing [2], and smart grid control software in cloud computing architecture [3]. This paper discussed the feasibility study of the handling of monitoring of renewable energy in smart grid on cloud computing framework retaining smart grid security, analysis of the availability of Energy management software tools in smart grid using cloud computing, design of a demonstrator and realization of demonstration for further education purpose to utilize the advantage of cloud computing distributed and scalable nature.

Embeddable parallel digital image of doubly-fed induction generator

Due to the complexity of the structure of doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG), it is difficult to conduct real-time simulation. For this reason, this paper designs an embeddable parallel digital image IP of DFIG based on field programmable logic array (FPGA) to realize efficient electromagnetic simulation of DFIG. First, this paper proposes a virtual capacitor equivalent method for induction machine equivalent "T" circuit decoupling;Secondly, based on the principle of data independence and parallelism within the time step, a parallel algorithm for the internal components of DFIG is proposed;Finally, the FPGA-DFIG digital image constructed in this paper is connected to the RT-LAB/power grid, and hardware experiments are carried out under three working conditions: steady state, voltage sag and DC side fault. The experimental results are compared with the simulation results of DFIG grid connected system built in MATLAB/Simulink environment to verify the effectiveness and rapidity of the methods and models proposed in this paper.(C) 2023 The Authors. Aimed at inventory allocation needs with timeliness and accuracy of distributed spare parts warehouses, a collaborative allocation model for spare parts is proposed. Based on an analysis of the characteristics and defects of the genetic algorithm, a distributed inventory allocation strategy based on the parallel genetic algorithm is proposed, and a coarse parallel genetic algorithm within the framework of MapReduce is realized. The proposed strategy and algorithm together reduce the heavy computation burden during the process of problem-solving which is based on the genetic algorithm. Effectiveness of the proposed strategy is verified based on the spare parts inventory data of providers on the automobile industry chain.

With the rapid development of mobile networking and device capability, energy efficiency becomes an important design consideration due to the limited battery life of mobile terminals. Processing energy cost by CPU is one of the most significant power consuming components in mobile terminals. The emergence of mobile cloud computing (MCC) provides the opportunity to save processing energy through the way of offloading computation tasks to remote server(s). In recent years, considerable research has been devoted to computation offloading to achieve energy efficiency. This paper presents a comprehensive summary of recent work, investigates representative infrastructure of computation offloading, and analyzes key components and future design trends of energy efficient mobile applications. The ongoing integration of renewable energy sources is likely to increase the fluctuations in the ratio of produced and consumed power. Several types of Demand Response (DR) programs have been proposed to deal with the increasing volatility of power production and consumption. Many of these, such as Real Time Pricing (RTP), require intensive monitoring of the consumers' power consumption. This is one of the reasons why smart meters are currently being deployed by many utilities. Smart meters offer a two-way communication channel between the consumer and the utility, thus extending the power grid by a complex, large scale communication infrastructure. With the growing deployment of smart meters, power utilities face the problem of processing and storing the incoming data to support latency-sensitive applications such as Real-Time Pricing. In this paper we present a set of requirements for a utility-side IT infrastructure to process incoming smart meter data streams. We propose the use of Infrastructure-as-a-Service clouds and frameworks for parallel stream processing in clouds to address these requirements. Based on the Nephele cloud computing framework we demonstrate the practicality of this approach based on experiments with one million simulated smart meters and a prototypical Real-Time Pricing application deployed in our own private cloud.

cloud computing is a new emerging paradigm that provisions various computing resources to meet the developing computational needs. Scheduling the task poses many difficulties, because the cloud computing resources are complex, dynamic, heterogeneous, distributed in nature. Task Scheduling aims at minimising the makespan and maximising the resource utilisation. This paper gives an elaborate idea about Particle Swarm optimisation (PSO) algorithm and its several variants for task scheduling in cloud environment. PSO produces better results for task Scheduling Problems. This paper gives an insight to the researchers about various aspects of PSO and Task Scheduling. © 2017 IEEE.

In the last year a number of the applications written in Java programming language have been developed which will benefit from running on High Performance computing (HPC) systems. For some of them, such as coming from the Semantic Web domain, use of HPC is a key factor in achieving the required scalability and performance characteristics. parallelisation enables such applications to utilize HPC most efficiently. The Message-Passing Interface (MPI) is one of the most popular implementation standards for parallel applications. Despite several implementations of MPI for Java, such as mpiJava and MPJ Express, the MPI standard has been for a long time MPI out of scope of the real-life Java applications, due to the design features pertained to this programming language (such as Garbage Collector) and lack of use cases for HPC support. However, the tremendously growing amount of the data processed by the Semantic Web applications makes parallelisation the major challenge also for Java applications. In this paper, we describe a parallelisation technique based on MPI and show its application for a case study Java application, used for extracting semantically similar words from the co-occurrence statistics of the words in text data. We show that use of MPI allows a Java application to achieve good performance and scalability on several compute architectures and with different MPI implementations.

With the development of parallel computing, distributed computing, grid computing, a new computing model appeared. The concept of computing comes from grid, public computing and SaaS. It provides secure and dependable data storage center, so user needn't do the awful things such storing data and killing virus, this kind of task can be done by professionals. It can realize data share through different equipments. It analyses some questions and hidden troubles, and puts forward some solutions, and discusses the future of cloud computing. cloud computing is a computing style that provide power referenced with IT as a service. Users can enjoy the service even he knows nothing about the technology of cloud computing and the professional knowledge in this field and the power to control it.

cloud computing is a new computing model which can share a set of configurable computing resources with users through real-time network. Users hardly have any interaction with service providers, but can take advantage of the resources with the minimum configuring spending. As a kind of integrated model, SOA blends the developing and the integrated process, diminishes the differences of various practical systems and realizes the EAI function with low cost and comprehensive systems. cloud computing is the further development of distributed computing, parallel processing and grid computing. Based on the Internet, it is a kind of calculation system, which can provide the hardware for various Internet application services, infrastructure services, platform service, software services, and storage service. This thesis discusses the respective advantages and interrelationship of cloud computing and SOA framework, and puts forward the framework of combining SOA and cloud computing model. The framework has the characteristics of application flexibility, the features of easy extension, easy maintenance as well as low cost.
