E-commerce is one of the fast growing business models of the present day. Shopping from anywhere & anytime has become a key feature of E-commerce. Because of the huge amount of data generated from the vast population of people & connected devices has posed challenges to manage the stream of data arriving from every device in real time. Big data analytics is a process of examining this big data to uncover unknown correlations, hidden patterns, & other useful information that can be used to make better decisions. In many applications of E-commerce, Real-time & incremental streaming approach for data analysis within a smaller time window is needed to enable proactive care. In this paper, we propose a novel approach for converting an e-commerce prospect into a customer using streaming analytics. The approach uses Markov chains to identify the usage profile and threshold nearest neighbour clustering algorithm as one of the clustering techniques to group the user actions onto clusters. © 2016 IEEE.

Single linkage (SLINK) hierarchical clustering algorithm is a preferred clustering algorithm over traditional partitioning-based clustering as it does not require the number of clusters as input. But, due to its high time complexity and inherent data dependencies, it does not scale well for large datasets. To the best of our knowledge, all existing parallel SLINK algorithms are based on the traditional SLINK algorithm and thus require large number of computing resources. In this paper, we present a novel optimization of SLINK algorithm, GridSLINK, which is an order of magnitude faster than the existing state-of-the-art implementation. The optimization in GridSLINK comes from reduction in number of distance calculations required by SLINK. This reduction is achieved by exploiting spatial locality of data points and using an adaptive gridding technique. GridSLINK is parallelized for distributed memory systems. Scalable performance is achieved for increasing number of compute nodes. The proposed parallel algorithm, dGridSLINK, is benchmarked against the best existing parallel algorithm in literature and found to outperform the latter for all the real datasets considered. dGridSLINK can cluster millions of data points in few seconds/minutes using a small number of processing elements, without compromising the quality of clustering.

The practice of data science is ad hoc and agile, where needs and requirements evolve continuously and are resolved through collaboration among stakeholders. To support such practice visual analytics systems need to evolve as the needs and requirements in terms of data, users, tasks, medium, visualization, and interaction capabilities change continuously. In this paper we present a case study and illustrate several dimensions of the requirements in visual analytics. We put forward a vision of a dynamic agile visual analytics process and system model in support of data science, in which the user and system can cooperate to facilitate discovery while requirements change on demand. We argue that such a system needs an underlying language and algebra that defines not only operands and operators for performing visual analytics but also specifies guidelines that take them into account and produce useful visual analytics transformations leading to a specific insight. Our intent is not to present a fully developed system but rather a vision, illustrated through a use case. While the algebra presented here is sufficiently defined to illustrate our viewpoints, further refinement and completion is necessary to facilitate application in a visual analytics system.

Cloud computing center energy consumption is enormous, it is important to enhance the energy efficiency of cloud computing industry. In cloud computing, computing tasks can migrate across data centers. At this point, the existing data center energy efficiency evaluation indicators can not reflect the actual energy efficiency of the computing center. Based on the existing energy efficiency evaluation index on the basis of calculation for multi center model is put forward for the migration of cloud computing center energy efficiency evaluation index of CDCe P, and based on this index, put forward by the mobile micro cloud computing center, chase new cloud physics of low cost and high efficiency of migrating computing Center operation mode, effectively improve the cloud computing the center of the equivalent energy efficiency, reduce emissions.

A Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a system comprising of spatially dispersed self-sufficient gadgets by utilizing sensors to agreeably screen a portion of the conditions. data that are used in WSN are used in decision making in critical infrastructure. An additional node is introduced in network which is known as malicious node to compromise the existing ones, so for the perfect decision making data trustworthiness is mandatory. data provenance will act as a method to emphasize the data where it can be trusted. Low energy, bandwidth consumption are the challenges that faces in the provenance management for sensor network. The technique that is used will transmit the data securely to the destination. Bloom filter techniques are used to encode provenance and also for provenance verification. An efficient mechanism is used to localize the malicious activity in the network. The method used is also extended along certain functionality and also we examine the proposed method extensively and the result provide a efficient technique for detecting malicious activity in the system. © 2016 IEEE.

Social media are primarily generated and transmitted over Internet from mobile based applications/tools, e.g., Flickr, YouTube, etc., for sharing and discussing information among people. Most of these applications are putting forward from desktop to mobile client side, since smart devices are growing by leaps and bounds, and they tend to take fully advantage of tunnels that telecom companies offer. Like any other industries, telecom operators also face tough competitions from 'over-the-top'(OTT) service providers. Therefore, they are prone to bring in Big data analytical techniques to take fully use of streaming data they possessed. To this end, in this paper, we propose a novel query system specifically designed for telecom networks that integrates both online pre-processing and offline analytics for social streaming data. Furthermore, our framework is able to speedup the query processing by creating and parsing an Abstract Syntax Tree (AST). Extensive experimental results show the effectiveness of proposed and implemented system. © 2016 IEEE.

Cloud computing has become a promising computing paradigm drawing extensive attention from both academia and industry. In modern health care industry cloud computing technology is widely adopted for storing and sharing medical data. Sensitivity of Medical data needs to be more secured while sharing the data in cloud environment. data encryption, homomorphic encryption, secret sharing technique and data partition technique are widely used to share the data in cloud computing environment. In this paper, performance of two algorithms viz., secret sharing algorithm and information dispersal algorithm are compared and modified secret sharing algorithm is proposed for medical data sharing.

Memcached is an in-memory key-value caching system, which is used to resolve the principal contradiction of the disk-based database between the CPU and input/output, has been widely used as an effective way to solve the distance and improve the capacity of the source server. We optimize the performance of Memcached memory access through two ways: improve the density of memory storage and ameliorate the usage of memory. In this paper, we first enhanced Memcached with data compression. Then, we analyze Memcached calcification problem and discuss the influence of the data compression functionality on this problem. At last, we solve the slab selection problem of Memcached memory reclamation with data compression. Experiment results show that to achieve the same hit rate, only 70% of memory is needed with data compression and our decalcification method for Memcached with data compression increased hit rate of 10%.

Network coding is becoming a very important technology to improve the reconstructing performance of distributed storage systems due to its high reliability and low redundancy. Update is a typical and important operation involved in the network-coding-based systems. However, the overhead incurred by the update operation has a significant impact on the system performance. Traditionally, the small updated data are aggregated as different big logs and then flushed to the back-end storage nodes, thus reducing the I/O overhead. We investigate a large volume of traces and find that the updated data normally contain very strong locality. Based on this observation, this paper proposes a Locality-based Update Scheme (LUS) which maintains the update related data in the cache longer to leverage the locality. The subsequent update related data will be cached, thus significantly decreasing the data accesses going to back-end storage nodes and the bandwidth required to transfer the data. Experimental results demonstrate that in contrast to a state-of-the-art approach, LUS reduces the bandwidth consumption and update time up to 30% and 24.57%, respectively.
