This article focuses on the utilization of educational robots in the process of design and education, as well as in the creation of automated workplaces. Current advancements in technology, referred to as Industry 4.0 or Industry 5.0, bring forth new possibilities in logistics management and the implementation of autonomous systems into practical use. These innovations create space for utilizing educational robots in teaching and in modeling work environments that correspond to real conditions in industries. The article highlights the necessity of employing educational robots in the creation of automated workplaces. As robotics and automation continue to progress, simulating robotic workplaces becomes a crucial part of developing manufacturing processes. To accurately model these workplaces, the use of educational robots, faithfully representing elements found in actual manufacturing operations, is indispensable. The primary goal is to create a functional model of a robotized workplace in a laboratory setting using educational robots and their components. This model serves as a physical demonstration of logistics flows on a reduced scale and allows simulation of real work environments in various industry sectors. The current research institute at the BERG Faculty possesses educational robots and actively endeavors to integrate these resources into research efforts, aiming to enhance the efficiency of the teaching process. In terms of the technological aspect of research, the objective is to develop autonomous systems with the assistance of educational robots and to model workplaces like real industry settings. With the rapid development of electric power system, it is urgent to find out an effective and flexible transmission network fault simulation method to improve the fault analysis and handling competence of communication network operation and maintenance personnel. Aiming at the problems of current fault simulation solutions, this paper proposes a new panoramic fault simulation method of electric power communication transmission network. Firstly, the overall process of the method and simulation objects are introduced. Then the details of 4 main steps of the method are explained, such as equipment/cable simulation modeling building, fault simulation model building, simulation transmission network generation, fault loading the triggering. Finally, the application results of the method are briefly introduced. The method provides a new solution to panoramically recurrence of various types of electric power communication transmission faults, and supports the communication professionals to analyze the faults and improves their fault handling competence. © 2022 IEEE.

Wireless sensor network (WSN) contains millions of small, low-power gadgets with a lack of resources are memory and battery power. Such gadgets were deployed in a dispersed manner and were often utilized to monitor and sense applications. Owing to constraints and limited resources of WSNs, routing can be a great difficulty. Routing in WSN was the process of choosing the optimal path for data to travel from a source node to a destination node. The goal of routing in WSN offer dependable and effective transmission while minimizing network overhead and energy consumption. This study designs an Energy Efficient Colliding Bodies Optimization based Routing Protocol (EECBO-RP) for WSN. The end goal of the EECBO-RP algorithm lies in the optimal election of routes to a destination. For achieving reasonable results for the minimization of energy exploitation, the EECBO-RP system derives the fitness function using the following variables: residual energy, distance to BS, and node degree. The EECBO-RP technique chooses the relay nodes so that a way that the overall efficiency of the WSN gets maximized. The simulation values of the EECBO-RP system are tested under several dimensions and the outcomes pointed out the betterment of the EECBO-RP technique. © 2023 IEEE.

In order to comply with legal regulations related to wastewater quality, the operational mode of facilities at wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) should be properly adjusted according to parameters of influents, however it is very difficult without frequently performed measurements. Currently there are known many techniques and devices for assesment of wastewater parameters such as chemical oxygen demand, biochemical oxygen demand, total organic carbon, as well as phosphorus and nitrogen compounds. In spite of the far reaching improvements of treatment process automatisation, there still isn't developed a automatic and fast measuring system of wastewater parameters. Rapid on-line method of wastewater parameters estimation by electronic nose and computer simulations could be recomended as an alternative solution in many WWTPs in comparation with traditional approch. Within this paper the analysis of real-time data obtained from laboratory bioreactor were used to estimate wastewater parameters in order to develop the inexpensive and fast-responding measuring for the WWTPs. The elaborated method enables continuous and relatively low cost monitoring of the wastewater quality even in many key points of operating and control WWTP. In this context, computer simulation support with on-line e-nose measurments could be cheap and useful tool to improve the WWTP efficiency.

Tuned liquid damper(TLD) has been widely used to suppress structural vibration, and its combination with elastic components has become a research hotspot. In this paper, a TLD structure with a ribbed baffle is proposed, and the vibration damping performance of the normal baffle and the ribbed baffle has been compared when using rigid material and elastic material, respectively. The partitioned solution of fluid-structure interaction method is used to numerically simulate the horizontal vibration attenuation process of five TLD devices, which proves the superiority of vibration damping performance of ribbed baffles when using elastic materials. The vorticity contour of the two structures with different baffles when using elastic materials is compared, which confirms the superiority of the vibration damping effect of the structure with ribbed baffle. © 2022 The authors and IOS Press.

Robot football simulation match is a kind of simulated football game with software. For the fira5vs5 robot simulation football project, many scholars have proposed the optimization of the team's strategy on this project. On the basis of the dynamic role assignment of players in the game, this paper analyzes the principle of the least square method and the application process of the least square method, gives the algorithm design and obtains the final result. Platform verification and game results show that this strategy can greatly improve the goal rate of shooting players and achieve better shooting effect. © 2022 IEEE.

The design of photonic/opto-electronic structures is a crucial field of research due to the wide range of applications in which these devices are utilized, such as communications, sensing and imaging. The traditional approach to design, which involves numerical simulation and iterative adjustments, is both time-consuming and computationally intensive. The ability to design-emulate photonic structures quickly and efficiently could bring new technologies to market at a faster pace and can also facilitate the process of extracting critical performance metrics from complex fabricated devices. The Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (VCSEL) and its use as a transmitter broadly used in data center interconnects is an example of a rather complex nonlinear system also exhibiting bandwidth limitation mechanisms attributed to its frequency response and parasitic effects, and thus its numerical simulation based on conventional rate equations can only partially approximate its behavior. When it comes to modelling fabricated devices, such physical models are notoriously difficult to parameterize in order to fit to observed laboratory data;in contrast, the emulation of the experimentally recorded behavior with the use of nonlinear models based on neural networks provides a much more efficient path to modelling, and with potentially higher prediction accuracy [1]. In this work, two types of bidirectional recurrent neural networks (RNN), namely Long Short-Term Memory (bi-LSTM) and Vanilla (bi-VRNN) were used to simulate the dynamic behavior of an experimentally characterized VCSEL-based, PAM-4 transmitter, exhibiting a high prediction accuracy approaching 100%. © 2023 IEEE.

Flying ad-hoc networks (FANETs) consist of un-manned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that perform data exchanges in constrained and frequently changing environments. Routing data in FANETs is difficult due to the inherent properties of the network and the environmental characteristics, and a routing protocol that considers all these properties is really needed. In this work, we consider popular routing protocols from the field of ad-hoc networking and a few recently proposed routing protocols for FANETs, and carry out simulation based experiments to measure their performance in a simulated FANET environment. Based on their measured performance, we identify the applicability issues of these protocols in *** propose hn-AODV, an improved routing protocol for FANETs, which considers the two important properties namely the number of neighbors and the hop count along the identified paths. During the path finding process of hn-AODV, if the sequence number of Route Request or Route Reply message is greater than the sequence number of the stored route request or route reply message maintained in a node, then hn-AODV will operate similar to the well-known ad-hoc on demand distance vector routing protocol. In the case where the sequence numbers are found to be equal, hn-AODV considers the hop count and the number of neighboring nodes along the path to resolve the tie. Our simulation based experiments show that the proposed hn-AODV shows a better performance when compared to other well-known protocols. Our proposed algorithm also yields the lowest end-to-end delay than the well-known protocols. © 2022 IEEE.

Many systems require certain level of dependability to fulfill their purpose in predefined conditions. To check whether such a requirement can be met, the designer of a system must use proper means to assess dependability qualitatively or quantitatively, whereas this paper focuses on the latter assessment manner. The first problem with the assessment is that we cannot judge it except by evaluating its sub-attributes such as reliability, availability or maintainability. The second problem relates to the assessment itself – ideally, assessment builds on an analytical solution;however, if it does not exist, its presumptions are violated etc., an alternative approach must take place. This paper presents our alternative, simulation based approach with a special attention paid to reliability and maintainability;it builds on stochastic timed automata, an instrument able to model a wide class of systems/conditions of one’s interest. In our approach, the assessment process takes the advantage of the statistical model checking technique, powerful enough to quantify dependability attributes in realistic situations and with a predefined degree of uncertainty. Finally,the paper evaluates our approach, outlines our research perspectives and gives a conclusion. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Urban and rural planning under the rural revitalization plan is an important research topic at present. Based on computer virtual reality technology, this paper puts forward the system structure and technical route of establishing a simulation-based urban and rural planning information platform and auxiliary decision support system, and gives some key technical solutions. In this paper, after in-depth understanding of the data and application requirements required for urban and rural planning business, at the data level, for the 3D model data required for system application, the combination of airborne Lidar technology and oblique aerial photography technology is used to quickly realize urban and rural 3D real scenes modelling, greatly improving the production efficiency of 3D models. On the basis of integrating the existing planning thematic data, using the three-dimensional GIS software platform Skyline, a real three-dimensional scene including terrain and landscape is established. According to the functions required for urban and rural planning, the API program interface and COM components provided by the platform are used to expand the API interface of COM components and flexibly encapsulate related functions to develop a three-dimensional planning auxiliary decision support system. © 2022 IEEE.
