In large-scale Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), the use of clustering methods can respond quickly to queries, but the energy consumption of nodes in the network is unbalanced, and collisions may occur during the aggregation process, resulting in data loss. Although the use of serial aggregation methods can effectively avoid collisions, they cannot respond quickly to queries. We propose a new energy-saving Sector clustering data aggregation method called Fan Aggregation (FA). FA is a distributed adaptive method that combines the ideas of serial aggregation and clustering. FA extends the network lifespan and reduces query response time through the optimization of clustering and routing stages. In FA, the circular network is divided into two layers. In the first layer, the network is divided into multiple sectors. Each sector's nodes elect a CH (cluster head) through a CH election algorithm and form a chain with other nodes in the sector. In the second layer, the data inside the CH node of each sector is aggregated in series. This method of serial aggregation between nodes within a cluster, serial aggregation between CH nodes, and parallel aggregation between clusters, effectively reduces the network's query response time and network collisions while ensuring network scalability. This, in turn, extends the network's lifespan. And through OMNeT++ simulation, analysis and experimental results show that for large-scale wireless sensor networks, FA is superior to existing algorithms in terms of network life and FDN (First Death Node) indicators. © 2023 ACM.

Energy consumption in buildings is an important factor in the design and operation of a project as if energy reduction used in a building helps to lower operating costs and its environmental impact. Optimizing architectural design options, building surfaces, and HVAC systems from the beginning of a project using Building Information Modeling (BIM) to reduce energy consumption in the building is a new trend nowadays. BIM is said to be an interactive environment that efficiently manages and analyzes elements related to architecture, structure, electricity, and water design as well as the construction process. Furthermore, there are a variety of building energy modeling (BEM) tools that can import these BIM files and perform energy simulation. The simulation and calculation of the energy model via BIM, in particular, is regarded as a new solution for the construction industry in the future. In this research, energy simulation in buildings using a BIM system is proposed to change those design elements within construction process in order to reduce the Energy Use Intensity (EUI) and energy cost in the building. Opportunistic network (OppNet) is a type of advanced wireless mobile network that has evolved from Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANETs) and belongs to the category of Delay Tolerant Network (DTN). The unique features that make OppNet different from other wireless networks are its intermittent connectivity, unstable topology, no dedicated path to the destination from the source, and high node mobility. This further makes the process of data transmission a challenging task. For this a method called "store-carry-forward" is used in which the battery-operated intermediate nodes store the message, discover a suitable relay node, and forward the message to that node. This further leads to the depletion of the battery power or energy of the node in due course of time. In this context, there is a necessity to develop routing models by taking the current energy status of a node into consideration. In this paper, the authors proposed an energy-efficient version of a popular routing mechanism EBC, termed E-EBC where the selection of the next suitable node depends upon the battery power (referred to as Energy) of that node. This model is then compared with existing benchmark protocols- Epidemic, Prophet, EDR, E-Prophet, E-EDR, and EBC. simulation results (using ONE Simulator) depict that the proposed model performs much better than that of the benchmark models respectively by around 42.73, 41.46, 58.19, 32.03, 65.99, and 44.77% in terms of average latency. The proposed protocol E-EBC is also compared against messages dropped by varying the TTL, Buffer Size, and number of nodes. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Additive Manufacturing is a production technology, which completely differs from the traditional subtractive approach. Because its different nature, its application could cause strong changes in supply chains and it could affect the relationship between the supply chain players. This paper proposes a quantitative evaluation of the Additive Manufacturing effects on the supply chain performance, considering different system configurations. A simulation model has been implemented in order to reproduce the behavior of the players and compare different scenarios. Both additive and traditional technologies have been modelled in order to compare their efficiency. Moreover, different supply chain configurations have been tested to assess the additive production feasibility combined with different supply chain structures. Results confirm that Additive Manufacturing provides good improvements in supply chain performances offering significant benefits in the decentralized solution. (C) 2021 The Authors. In order to make the collapse process of chimney more accurate and avoid safety accidents, ANSYS/LS-DYNA was used to build a three-dimensional finite element model of 150m steel-concrete structure chimney and carry out numerical simulation on the directional overturn process of chimney. Blasting cut length as a variable, and through the equivalent stress, collapse collapse process after the critical pile length and width, capsized in the process of chimney at the top of the node displacement is analyzed, the results show that the numerical analysis will involve the process simulation of the chimney collapsed, according to the numerical simulation results can be optimized blasting parameters design, make the chimney collapse more accurate, it provides reference for blasting scheme design. © VDE VERLAG GMBH · Berlin · Offenbach.

Bidfish Startup is a bidding fish startup that services the process of bidding ocean products such as fish, crabs, squid, sea slug, and shrimp. This startup handles all the bidding processes from Kalimantan, Java, and Bali. This startup will become the connector between the supplier (the one that will sell the ocean products) and the buyer (the one that will buy the product). The process of bidding from the supplier to the buyer is managed by Bidfish. However, in the process of bidding, there is still an issue that is categorized as waste. In this study, the method used is the value stream mapping method to facilitate the waste assistance process using the process activity mapping (PAM) method. Waste has been identified in groups according to the seven categories of waste. The seven wastes were then ranked by the Waste Assessment Model (WAM) method. The method’s end result WAM then chose the three highest wastes. The wastes are waiting, excessive inventory, and Unnecessary moving. Each of the waste produces waste as much as 20.79% for excessive inventory, 18.81% for waiting and unnecessary motion. Those wastes caused the efficiency of the process, the efficiency of the current condition is 7%. An analysis of the root causes of waste was carried out using a fishbone diagram. Based on the root causes, then creates the proposed solution. The first proposed solution is given to the waiting, which is to maximize the process, thereby it will produce more value-added activities. The next improvement is that inventories should be managed using the supply chain method. The unnecessary motion will decrease non-value-added activities. Based on this proposed solution the process efficiency of the expected future condition is 29%, this is the percentage of the efficiency after implement the proposed solution by eliminating the three highest wastes.

In this paper, the Univariate Marginal Distribution Algorithm (UMDA) in estimation of distribution algorithms (EDA) is proposed to optimize the parameters of ADRC for flow control in precision fertilization process. Firstly, the mechanism model of precision fertilizer machine and the parameters of Active Disturbance Rejection Controller (ADRC) based on separation principle are analyzed. Then selected UMDA algorithm to optimize ADRC parameters, Gaussian distribution probability model is established in the optimization process and truncation method is used to make decisions for elite individuals. Finally, through simulation research and analysis, the feasibility and effectiveness of UMDA algorithm for ADRC parameter optimization in precision fertilization process are verified. The controller after parameters optimization has the advantages of strong anti-interference and fast convergence speed.

With the rapid development of railway transportation, the safety and reliability of railway signal interlocking system has become the key factor to ensure the safety of train operation. The traditional interlocking test method relies on manual operation, and has problems such as incomplete test items and incomplete test process, which is difficult to meet the needs of modern railway signal system. In this paper, a railway signal interlocking test level evaluation system based on genetic algorithm is proposed, which aims to improve the efficiency and accuracy of interlocking test through intelligent methods. The system combines computer simulation technology, big data analysis technology and genetic algorithm to realize the automation, intelligence and hierarchical management of interlocking test. Through simulation verification and field test, the system can effectively identify the potential problems in the interlocking relationship and ensure the comprehensiveness and thoroughness of the interlocking test. This paper introduces the design idea, implementation method and practical application effect of the system in detail, which provides a new solution for the intelligent management of railway signal interlocking test.

Discrete-event simulation is an established method to support decision making for planning tasks in production and logistics. However, there are still many enterprises, especially smaller companies that do not use discrete-event simulation because of the high costs associated with buying and maintaining commercial simulation tools. The question is whether or not free discrete-event simulation software is an alternative to commercial tools for solving typical planning tasks in production and logistics. The paper analyzes the modeling process with the three free and open-source discrete-event simulation tools Salabim, JaamSim and CloudSim and compares them with the two standard commercial simulation packages Arena and Plant simulation. JaamSim provides everything which is necessary to model typical planning tasks in production and logistics and proves as a real alternative to commercial discrete-event simulation tools.
