Long forging production cycle and low equipment utilization are the important problems currently facing domestic die forging ring production lines. To solve this problem, a simulation optimization method for die forging production line based on Flexsim was proposed. Firstly, the ECRS theory method was used to analyze the bottleneck process of the production line. Then, built a logistics simulation model of die forging production line based on Flexsim, The parallel and cycle processing steps was set reasonable parameters and simulated. Next, through logic analysis, methods such as adding processing equipment, improving equipment efficiency and balancing equipment handling tasks were used to optimize and improve the production line. Finally, compared and analyzed the original and optimized model. The simulation results show that the optimized production line equipment task allocation tends to be rationalized, the equipment utilization rate is increased by 4.34%, and the product cycle time is reduced by 27.65%, and optimized planning and design are achieved. © 2020 Institute of Physics Publishing. Floating, Production, Storage, and Offloading (FPSO) is an offshore installation that is used to process and store crude oil from wells and then transport it using tankers to oil refineries. One common scheme in the construction of an FPSO is by converting a tanker into FPSO. The project to convert a tanker to an FPSO requires a very well planning considering that this facility is a very important facility in the upstream oil and gas industry. This study aims to determine aspects that can reduce costs in the project of converting a tanker to FPSO. In this study, the variables that can influence the cost of conversion of a tanker into FPSO project are determined by approaching the principle of customer satisfaction, called Quality, Cost, and Delivery. The solution to the problem is carried out using a system dynamics model approach to determine the causality relationship between variables and its effect on the cost of conversion. The analysis is taken by sensitivity analysis and give the result of the biggest variables that lead in cost of conversion respectively are shipyard class, penalty during production, lead time, subcon factor, amount of worker, and the accuracy of pricing. The simulation model produced using system dynamics modelling is expected to be able to provide a solution to reduce the project cost of conversion a tanker to FPSO to support oil and gas exploitation activities in Indonesia. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The traditional drying method of dried persimmons is laborious and time-consuming. Moreover, the finished product rate of dried persimmons is significantly low. According to the characteristics and requirements of the dried persimmon drying process, a drying control system for persimmon based on single-chip microcomputer and PID is proposed in this paper. In the control system, the single-chip STC89C52 is used as the master controller, the PID controller is used to regulate the temperature of the persimmon drying room, the LCD1602 liquid crystal screen is used to monitor the drying process in real time, and the buzzer is used to alarm when the temperature exceeds the limit. The results of simulation experiment show that, compared with the traditional drying method of dried persimmon, the designed drying control system for dried persimmon can conveniently set the parameters of drying time, temperature, etc. The control system not only realizes real-time control, detection and display of the dried persimmon drying process but also improves the drying efficiency and quality of dried persimmons. © 2020 ACM.

With the continuous expansion of the scale of colleges and universities, it may be necessary to temporarily add some experiment class while teaching, so the demand of the experiment course arrangement system is increasing. Based on the backtracking method, this paper constructs a basic algorithm for the problem of courses arrangement in the laboratory. The algorithm supports the functionality to adding new courses to the schedule at any time, and is able to randomly generate the schedule which generates different outcome at each time the algorithm runs. The branch prediction method is used to optimize the performance of the algorithm. At last, a personal and digital evaluation method of teachers and students' satisfaction is given by using Analytic Hierarchy process (AHP) to solve the curriculum problem. By using this method, the curriculum generated by this algorithm can be optimized, so as to getting more satisfactory schedule plan for teachers and students. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The measurement sensor of the partially-filled pipe electromagnetic flowmeter must be installed where the fluid is fully developed. For partially-filled pipe electromagnetic flowmeters, the boundary conditions vary with the fullness of the pipe, and the distance from the pipe inlet to the fully developed is not the same as the distance of the full-filled pipe flowmeter. Therefore, in the partially-filled pipe state, the mounting position of the electrode sensor is also different from the mounting position at full-filled pipe state. Based on the measurement principle of electromagnetic flowmeter, the finite element simulation method is used to simulate the flow field development of partially-filled pipe electromagnetic flowmeter. First, according to the knowledge of hydraulics, the variable boundary constraint is established, and then the simulation model of flowmeter fluid development process is established. Second, the Comsol Multiphysics finite element simulation software is adopted to solve the fluid development process, and the required distance for the full development of the partially-filled pipe fluid is obtained. Finally, the optimal installation position of the partially-filled pipe electromagnetic flowmeter sensor was determined based on the distance. The simulation results prove the feasibility of the proposed method, which can provide powerful theoretical support for the fabrication of partially-filled pipe electromagnetic flowmeters. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Copulas are fast gaining in popularity in fields requiring modelling of multivariate data. Population synthesis is one such domain where copulas hold much promise. Characteristics of a population are inherently a multivariate distribution, for example, age, education and employment have a dependent relationship with each other. However, characteristics of population are often discrete, sometimes even categorical, and rarely continuous. Further, inherently continuous variables like age are often discretized into bins or rounded down to the nearest integer. Although the Sklar's representation theorem of copulas [23] is still valid for these discrete data, assessing the goodness of fit by rejecting the null hypothesis that an assumed family of copulas adequately represents the data may not be fool-proof. In this paper, through simulation we demonstrate the failure of accepted goodness of fit tests of copulas even when the copula family is able to capture the dependence in the data. The strong recommendation is to use additional methods to test that the copula can capture the dependence in the available data. (C) 2019 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V. Ontology meaning and its declination in computer science are defined in the contribution. Some experiences of using ontologies for Cultural Heritage frame the state of the art. Specific ontologies for the conservation process allows the definition of classes and their description through attributes. Subjects, means, tools, relationships, and planning of activities, times and costs are included in the process. Ontologies so defined are also the basis for the definition of an interoperability protocol for Cultural Heritage. Interoperability means exchange among the tools, with the guarantee that data and meanings transmitted are correctly interpreted by the receiving system. The paper proposes the kind of informative model for built heritage. Defining the basis for ontologies is the goal. The flow of information in a Common Data Environment, a data exchange platform, is necessary to ensure proper data and process management.

Buried explosives, such as Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), are a threat to operations in the military. This challenge is compounded by limits in training the military to detect IEDs using a handheld detector called the Minehound. Thus, a call for improved IED detector training is answered through testing Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) Minehound trainers: these trainers are subjected to a usability investigation. Further, the VR and AR developments are framed within a Systems Engineering process Model. Following traditional Minehound instruction, a data collection event occurred over a two-day period, where ten Marines were asked to use the VR and AR Minehound trainers. Following the Marines' interaction with the trainers, the Marines completed a usability questionnaire (i.e., agreement with the usefulness, ease of use, ease of learning, satisfaction, and effectiveness of the trainers;and responses to open-ended questions). Ratings indicated future iterations should not emphasize aspects of ease of use and ease of learning, such as for user interfaces, but emphasize challenging aspects, such as helping users accomplish training tasks. A lower mean score in the usefulness subscale may be linked to breaks in fidelity (e.g., lag issues, weight issues, and a non-standard Marine sweep technique). Primarily, considerations for usefulness, satisfaction, and effectiveness aspects should be highlighted in the future as per an iterative design process. A cost-benefit analysis is given to compare the traditional and experimental forms of training. Limits of the study include experimental, environmental, and technical issues.

In recent trends antennas are playing crucial role in the broadcasting system such as mobile phones, radar, TV and satellite communications. Because of low cost and easily fabrication, the tagged slot in the suggested antenna improvises the gain with less interference due to truncated ground plane. This article proposed a dual band twin tagged H-shaped antenna with the truncated ground plane. The primary function of this article is to develop high gain and bandwidth in order to support the multi band operation and to increase the speed. The monopole action of the antenna skeleton will boost the gain;the notches on the antenna promote the multiband action. The proposed design is to conduct in UWB interval from 2 to 12 GHz with multi band process. The antenna is encouraging the orbicular emission at more advanced the frequencies and can be suitable for the forthcoming 5G mobile utilizations. Moreover, the recommended structure offers fewer conflict at the receiver, because of standalone actions at various numerous frequencies. The antenna is developed with Rogers Substrate with a dielectric consistent of 4.4, fall tangent of 0.0009 and possess a density of 1.6 mm. The skeleton is found to be minor in dimensions, comfortably build at low cost and can be unified into any compact wireless device. The skeleton can also be used for X-Band function for distinct applications of traffic regulation, climate anticipate and automobile speed disclosure systems. The simulation results are verified with the aid of Ansys HFSS software. This design obtained the return losses are −40.60 dB and −31.14 dB at respective frequencies 3.9 and 8.6 GHz, and the gain is 2 dB. © 2021, The Editor(s) (if applicable) and The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The Data Stream processing Strategy (DSPS) focus on online data processing based on IoT environments. Because of the IoT devices are possibly heterogeneous between them, the data gathering is coordinated through a measurement adapter (MA), who is responsible for data transmission to the data processor. In this work, measures' indirect transmission is incorporated through measurement adapters, promoting cooperative behaviour and the interaction between them. This extends DSPS allowing direct and indirect data collecting. The new states and process view are analysed in terms of the MA. An enveloping strategy is introduced for verifying the data integrity in the transmission path. A simulation was carried out around the generated overhead with this kind of strategy in the MAs. A mean-time of 5.781 ms is obtained as overhead, which makes it feasible of application, considering that in another way the data would be lost, and the MA becomes uncommunicated. © 2020 IOP Publishing Ltd.
