This paper presents regression models based on an ensemble of neural networks trained on different data that negotiate the final decision using an optimization approach based on an evolutionary approach. The model is designed for big and complex datasets. First, the data is clustered in a hierarchical way and then using different level of cluster and random choice of training vectors several MLP networks are trained. At the test phase, each network predicts an output for the test vector and the final output is determined by weighing outputs of particular networks. The weights of the outputs are determined by an algorithm based on a merge of genetic programming and searching for the error minimum in some directions. The system was used for prediction the steel temperature in the electric arc furnace in order to shorten and decrease the costs of the steel production cycle.

In this paper, a cooperative quantum genetic algorithm-particle swarm algorithm (CQGAPSO) is applied to tune both structure and parameters of a feedforward neural network (NN) simultaneously. In CQGAPSO algorithm, QGA is used to optimize the network structure and PSO algorithm is employed to search the parameters space. The amplitude-based coding method and cooperation mechanism improve the learning efficiency, approximation accuracy and generalization of NN. Furthermore, the ill effects of approximation ability caused by redundant structure of NN are eliminated by CQGAPSO. The experimental results show that the proposed method has better prediction accuracy and robustness in forecasting the sunspot numbers problems than other training algorithms in the literatures.

The circuit optimization process is formulated as a dynamic controllable system. A special control vector is defined to redistribute the compute expense between a network analysis and a parametric optimization. This redistribution permits the minimization a computer time. The problem of a minimal-time circuit optimization can be formulated in this case as a classical problem of the optimal control for some functional minimization. The conception of the Lyapunov function of dynamic controllable system is used to analyze the principal characteristics of the design process. The analysis of the Lyapunov function and its time derivative gives us a possibility to predict the optimal control vector structure for constructing a minimal-time circuit design algorithm.

According to modeling problem for complex systems, a compensatory fuzzy neural network (CFNN) modeling method based on particle swarm clustering is proposed: the particle swarm clustering is used to automatically separate the space of input-output data, obtain the numbers of inference rules of fuzzy model and find fuzzy rules. Based on the rules, we modified fuzzy reasoning process and established initial structure of compensatory fuzzy neural network. Then using adaptive rate algorithm optimized initial network parameters, which can obtain a faster training speed and more precision. Simulation results show that the proposed network has successfully modeled the oxidation decomposition reaction process.
