Fluctuation of network voltage can alter the load power, and this can be addressed by reconfiguring the network switching sequence and suitable allocation of parallel capacitors which affect the bus voltage level. Even though, there are selected studies that have factored voltage-dependent loads in their network switching and capacitor placement strategies, but in nonlinear modeling or extremely approximated linear methods. While the computation of nonlinear models using metaheuristic algorithms is possible, they do not guarantee an optimal solution, and their implementation in commercial nonlinear solvers leads to strenuous and prolonged computations. Moreover, the linearization of the model results in the extreme approximation of the model into several pieces of linear functions consisting of many unknown variables. To address this, the current study models an useful method for the formulation of voltage-variant loads in a complex hybrid problem of feeder reconfiguration and capacitor allocation, which is possible to be solved by commercial linear solvers. The approach proposed is examined on a generic 16-busbar distribution grid and the outcome demonstrates that the suggested approach is not only effective for reducing active power losses but also improves the system voltage effectively when compared to the conventional reconfiguration and capacitor placement models. © 2023 IEEE.

Given the constraints of no-fly zones on predicting the terminal velocity of hypersonic boost-glide vehicles, this paper proposes a method for predicting the terminal velocity of the aircraft based on a gated recurrent unit (GRU) neural network. Firstly, an offline trajectory optimization is conducted by using a sequential convex optimization approach. A three-degree-of-freedom model for boost-glide vehicle reentry phase is established, and the original problem is transformed into a second-order cone programming (SOCP) problem through linearization, relaxation, and discretization operations. The SOCP problem is then solved using the convex optimization solver to obtain a series of optimal reentry avoidance trajectory data samples that can avoid randomly appearing threat areas. Secondly, with the state and control sequence of the trajectory as inputs and the velocity at the final moment as output, a neural network model is trained based on the optimal trajectory data sample library to obtain the best model for predicting the terminal velocity. Finally, the effectiveness of the velocity prediction algorithm is verified through ballistic simulation. The simulation results demonstrate that, under the condition of random threat zone positions, the designed GRU neural network model can achieve accurate prediction of the aircraft’s terminal velocity. It exhibits a satisfactory generalization capability to meet the accuracy requirements and has high computational efficiency. © Beijing HIWING Scientific and Technological Information Institute 2024.

At present, the "source-load interaction" distribution network operation mode has gradually replaced the "source-load operation" mode. The uncertainty and volatility of the distribution system have been enhanced, the controllability has been weakened, the voltage fluctuations have been frequent, and the power quality has been decreased. Voltage regulation is crucial to fully absorbing new energy generation and improving the operation safety of the active distribution network. To solve the problem of real-time control of distribution networks, this paper proposes a distributed voltage control method of active distribution networks with global sensitivity, establishes a distributed communication mechanism, and builds a distributed forward push-back communication rule to transfer power and voltage information between nodes. The global sensitivity of voltage, active power, and reactive power is used for real-time, independent, and effective control of multiple devices at each node, and the distributed control process is simulated according to actual production conditions. Furthermore, the centralized and decentralized real-time voltage control methods are proposed, and the centralized and distributed methods are implemented in medium voltage primary distribution network (MVPN) and low voltage secondary distribution network (LVSN), respectively, to play the advantages of high computing efficiency and fast control response. Based on model predictive control (MPC), intra-day rolling time scale voltage regulation is constructed, and second-level control is used to adapt the MPC results, finally promoting the optimal scheduling and rapid response of various controllable flexible resources in the multi-level active distribution network. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. The need for effective and secure energy management systems has arisen as a result of increased demand for energy, the increasing use of renewable energy sources (RES), and the introduction of decentralized power generation. Here, we explore the urgent issues and exciting possibilities posed by traditional centralized energy networks, with a special focus on three crucial dimensions: achieving supply-demand equilibrium, seamlessly integrating renewable energy sources, and maintaining participant trust and transparency. This paper suggests leveraging blockchain technology (BT) to create a decentralized network grid energy management system to address these issues. Individual participants can directly exchange energy with one another within the Decentralized network Grid through peer-to-peer (P2P) trading. The network microgrid model's mathematical optimization is designed to balance supply and demand, improve network microgrid stability, and optimize energy distribution. The aforementioned optimization uses information from grid constraints, usage patterns, and energy pricing to make wise decisions in real time. The concept aims to achieve energy efficiency, cost savings, and seamless integration of renewable energy sources by utilizing the capabilities of blockchain smart contract and proposed optimization algorithm. © 2023 IEEE.

The fluctuation of voltage level at network buses has the ability to alter the load power of the network, which can be addressed by optimally placing capacitor banks at suitable points along the network. Even though some studies have considered the appropriate locations of capacitors for minimizing losses and improving the voltage sag, only a few studies have investigated the voltage-dependent loads impact on capacitor locations. Nevertheless, the models either used nonlinear or extreme approximation linear approaches. Meanwhile, nonlinear models do not guarantee the optimality of the solution when solved using metaheuristic algorithms, while their implementation in commercial solvers also leads to strenuous and time-consuming computations. Moreover, the linearization of the models makes them highly approximated into piecewise functions consisting of many uncertain parameters. To address these issues, the paper under consideration presents an efficient model for the formulation of voltage varying loads in capacitor placement problems through the use of commercial linear solvers. The model is examined on the 70-bus network and outcome demonstrates that proposed model does not only lead to the significant reduction of active losses, but greatly corrects the profile of system's voltage as compared to conventional capacitor placement models. © 2023 IEEE.

Aiming at the actual industrial requirements of high accuracy and high efficiency in the industrial process of pressure gauge calibration, this paper studies the intelligent temperature control of the pressure gauge calibration system. Based on the physical mechanism of the calibration system, the controlled object model is established. According to the characteristics of large time delay and nonlinearity of the calibration industrial process, a neural network PID control method based on ANT-LION optimization algorithm is proposed. The experimental results show that the method is effective and reliable, which improves the speed and stability of the temperature control of the pressure gauge calibration system, and realizes the intelligent control of the temperature of the calibration system. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

With access to massive distributed power sources and the increasing demand for voltage stability from the user side, the demand for precise voltage regulation in the distribution network has also increased. Currently, the main means of voltage regulation at the feeder level are through adjusting the reactive power compensation at the head end of the feeder. However, due to the fact that the control objective of reactive power compensation at the head end only considers the voltage at the head end of the feeder itself, it cannot meet the voltage regulation needs of other nodes in the feeder. As a result, the problem of uneven voltage at the beginning and end of the feeder line, as well as repeated occurrences of low voltage at the end, can occur. In response to this issue, this article establishes a voltage scheduling domain model for the first node of the feeder based on the consistency and synchronization of voltage changes between the first end of the feeder and other nodes, taking into account the voltage operation status of the entire node of the feeder. This model serves as the control objective for reactive power compensation switching at the first end, and utilizes the correlation between the historical reactive power compensation switching amount and the voltage of the first node in the feeder to calculate the sensitivity of reactive power voltage at the first end of the feeder, Then, a practical control strategy for feeder reactive power compensation is proposed based on the comprehensive scheduling domain and sensitivity. Finally, the useless voltage control strategy was validated using a certain feeder line as an example. Proved the effectiveness of this strategy. © 2024 IEEE.

Different from the conventional energy distribution network, which solely relies on energy distribution, the novel distribution system gradually exhibits a complex and interconnected form of various resources, such as source network load storage. These resources possess characteristics of "multi-point, wide area, and small amount"distribution. Investigating the potential for wide-area voltage regulation by using distributed resources like renewable energy power generation, distributed energy storage, and flexible loads is crucial for constructing a highly integrated source network load storage in the new type of distribution system. This paper proposes a novel data-driven method for optimizing control of wide-area voltage through distributed power network load storage resources. By comprehensively and cooperatively controlling renewable energy power generation, energy storage systems, and flexible loads, this approach enhances the quality of wide-area voltage in the distribution network while ensuring optimal utilization of energy storage capacity and minimizing network losses. The effectiveness and advanced nature of this method are demonstrated by applying it to an urban distribution network example. Compared to traditional voltage regulation methods, this approach aligns better with the requirements for voltage regulation in the new type of distribution network. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Demand for online services and cloud services has been increasing day to day. The usage of these services increases network traffic, which is difficult to handle by traditional networks. In the traditional networking paradigm, it is very difficult to integrate various networking devices of different versions. The programming capability in traditional networks is very less which requires manual installation even for small changes in the network. The traditional networking paradigm is a distributed architecture, in which individual networking devices will take control of the network devices which are under them. Overcoming the above limitations, a new networking paradigm called Software Defined networking (SDN) came into existence. SDN possesses a centralized architecture in which the controller will take all the routing decisions and those instructions will be forwarded to the forwarding elements called switches. Through programming, networking devices can be configured which reduces manual installation. In this article, a detailed study on multipath routing in SDN is done. It provides a detailed study regarding different ways of implementing multipath routing. Multipath routing based on optimization techniques and machine learning techniques are discussed. This chapter consists description of how load balancing can be improved and how Quality of Service (QoS) can be improved using multipath routing. Multipath routing using shortest path algorithms like the Bellman-Ford algorithm, and Depth First Search (DFS) are discussed and how deep neural networks and reinforcement learning mechanisms will be used to implement multipath routing and to improve network performance is discussed. This study helps other researchers who try to do research based on multipath routing over SDN to get an overview of multipath routing. © 2023 IEEE.
