The paper discusses an IoT-based railway management system for detecting cracks on railway tracks, monitoring platform availability, fire detection and suppression, train movement control, and automatic level crossing gate operations. The proposed system integrates various sensors (IR, ultrasonic, camera, fire), Arduino microcontrollers, DC motors, relays, Zigbee communication, and image processing techniques. The crack detection module employs IR sensors, ultrasonic sensors, and image processing algorithms to identify cracks or obstacles on the tracks. The platform monitoring module uses IR sensors to track platform occupancy and enable efficient train scheduling. The fire detection module incorporates fire sensors and activates water pumps, sprinklers, and emergency train compartment detachment mechanisms. The train movement module utilizes DC motors for precise acceleration, deceleration, and movement control. The level- crossing module automatically opens and closes gates based on train arrival and departure times. The system provides real- time communication and alerts through Node MCU and Zigbee technology. The article draws attention to the severe damage done by track-related accidents, which are among India's top causes of loss of life and property. The paper stresses how vital it is that railways are safe. This paper talks about the various problems with the Indian railway network and why there is a need for an efficient technology for track fault detection. Moreover, this paper’s focus extends to the more innovative approaches, including UAVs fitted with cameras and LiDAR sensors for aerial inspection of rails, new materials for improved track lifespan and strength, implementation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices enabling real-time information-gathering and robotic systems for autonomous maintenance duties on tracks.

With the proposal of the carbon peak and carbon neutrality goal, a significant influx of new energy sources with random and fluctuating characteristics is being integrated into the power grid. Consequently, the adaptability of the traditional four-parameter model, as well as new energy models, to the actual power grid is becoming increasingly prominent. Conversely, simulations often rely solely on the accuracy of models and algorithms and are based on predefined conditions. To address the aforementioned challenges, this paper utilizes PMU-measured data to identify error-dominant regions. Initially, it employs a hybrid dynamic simulation method to partition the power grid simulation system into blocks. Concurrently, it establishes a simulation credibility evaluation system and employs comprehensive simulation credibility to identify error-dominant regions. Subsequently, it iteratively decouples sub-regions to systematically identify error elements. Subsequently, the perturbation method was employed to analyze the trajectory sensitivity of each parameter of the element. Parameters with low sensitivity were assigned typical values, while those with high trajectory sensitivity were chosen for identification. The genetic algorithm was then utilized for online parameter verification and optimization. Finally, the proposed method was validated using RTDS real-time simulation software. Experimental results demonstrate that the calibrated model simulation results exhibit better alignment with measured data, highlighting the accuracy and reliability of the proposed approach.

In order to solve the on-line optimization problem of variable cycle engine, a control law of variable cycle engine based on depth Q network (DQN) is proposed, the minimum fuel consumption of variable cycle engine in cruise phase is achieved by reinforcement learning algorithm. In this paper, the control law of the variable cycle engine in the cruise phase is constructed based on the reinforcement learning algorithm, the pressure ratio can he adjusted online to change the engine working point, so as to reduce the fuel consumption. The unit fuel consumption rate of subsonic cruise can be reduced by 7.45%, and the self-learning time from pulling deviation to fuel consumption can be reduced to the lowest 80s. The performance optimization algorithm can realize the self regulation of engine control law and achieve the lowest fuel consumption with the existence of the engine performance deviation.

With the complexity of network structures and operation conditions, new challenge is brought to power system *** linear controllers based on the small signal method were designed via a linearization technique at the equilibrium point,which may not guarantee the stability when the equilibrium point changed or a large disturbance occurred. To overcome this problem, robust controller with the application of nonlinear control theory has been proposed to improve the transient stability. In this paper, a novel approach based on Takagi-Sugeno(T-S) fuzzy model is proposed to design a nonlinear controller for a power system. T-S fuzzy models are constructed as a exact representation of the power system. The controllers for each sub-model is designed based on the concept of parallel distributed compensation(PDC). The controller design problems can be reduced to linear matrix inequality (LMI) problems and can be solved efficiently in practice by convex programming techniques for LMIs. Simulation result illustrates effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2021 ACM.

Lung cancer is a highly lethal disease, claiming the lives of approximately 1 million individuals annually. Cancer is characterized by abnormal and rapid cell growth, making it difficult to control, though early diagnosis through Computed Tomography (CT) scan images can significantly improve chances of survival. However, detecting lung cancer early is challenging and can increase the risk of complications such as infection, inflammation, and tumor growth in the lungs. Moreover, the current methods for analyzing lung cancer prognosis have low accuracy. To solve this problem, we proposed an Optimized Weighting-Based Enhanced Neural network (OWENN) method to classify patients based on attributes accurately. Furthermore, they utilize the Adaptive Median Filter (AMF) technique during image pre-processing to calculate the mean value of each pixel and remove noise. Moreover, Improved Particle Swarm optimization (IPSO) can be implemented to extract tumors from lung images efficiently. Finally, the OWENN method improves the accuracy of cancer or non-cancer detection by classifying patients based on their selected attributes. Afterward, the experimental results indicate that the suggested OWENN approach can attain lung cancer prediction by evaluating sensitivity, precision, accuracy, and time delay.

High mobility, low latency and high throughput requirements in intelligent transport systems (ITS) have paved the way for the development of new wireless communication technologies. Therefore, the 5.9 GHz band has been assigned to ITS applications under two main technologies. europe's ITS-G5 is one such technology, which is based on IEEE 802.11p. The other alternative technology is 3GPP's cellular vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X). Both of these technologies have their inherent advantages and disadvantages due to dissimilarities in their physical (PHY) and media access control (MAC) layer architectures. Therefore, the applicability of each technology will vary depending on the situation. While previous work has been mainly focused on the comparison of two technologies, in this paper, we investigate the benefit of the co-existence of both of these technologies for a V2I downlink scenario in a road-side unit (RSU) placed at the center of an urban road intersection. We propose an optimization scheme to achieve the best minimum signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) performance for the RSU while providing connectivity to the maximum possible number of vehicles. Our analysis shows that ITS-G5 should be given priority when communicating with larger number of vehicles while C-V2X should be given priority when less number of vehicles are requesting to connect with the RSU.

network functions virtualization (nfV) solves the problem of tight coupling between network functions and hardware. While the Service Function Chaining (SFC) is the basic business model and provides customized services for network functions in nfV. However, the existing network function deployment and migration mechanisms are relatively static and rigid. For example, problems such as network load imbalance, deployment nodes or virtual network function instances failing, and virtual function elastic scaling cannot be performed. Aiming at the above problems, this paper proposes the decision-making optimization algorithm for virtual network function migration based on deep reinforcement learning. The algorithm takes network and node resources as constraints, establishes a migration decision model including state space, behavior space, and reward mechanism, and realizes flexible adaptation of virtual network functions. In the algorithm, migration decision-making based on Deep Q network (DQN) includes offline training and online decision-making. In the offline training stage, DQN is used to train the strategy network model. The online migration stage is based on the trained strategy network model, which uses the current network state as the model input to dynamically generate the migration strategy. Finally, the network performs the migration of virtual network functions online. This algorithm optimizes the node load and solves the problem of service interruption caused by the excessive load of a single node, failure of links, and virtual function instances in the network. Finally, we build a practical prototype system and demonstrate the performance of the proposed DQN approach. According to the network status, the prototype system realizes the on-demand dynamic migration of virtual network functions. With the rapid development of mobile Internet, network slicing is defined as one of key technologies to deal with the issue of differentiated requirements of diversified services. The introduction of network slicing brings many challenges to the implementation of Radio Access network (RAN). Considering Mobile Load Balancing (MLB) for RAN slicing, a mobile load balancing algorithm based on Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) is proposed. First of all, we propose a system utility model to measure the satisfaction of the system. And a mobile load balancing strategy for RAN slicing is proposed, including slice-level load control realized by adjusting the proportion of radio resource allocated to slice by Radio Remote Unit (RRU), and cell-level load balancing based on handoff. In order to improve the system satisfaction and maximize the system utility, the joint optimization problem of system satisfaction and utility function is proposed. The DRL is used to solve these optimization problems. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively reduce the total number of handoffs in the system and bring less balancing overhead. Internet network needs are increasingly rapid in supporting current business needs. This goes hand in hand with requests for IP Address allocations for companies to measure information and business needs. The increasing demand for current IP Address allocation, the fewer the number of IP Addresses available. To fulfill the demand from the use of IP Address, Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) or internet protocol was adopted as the next-generation Internet technology. Exchange of IP Address in computer network cannot be separated from the existence of routing protocol. Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP) also developed with the use of IPv6 to EIGRP for IPv6 (EIGRPv6). The EIGRPv6 routing concept is designed so well that it is capable of handling table routing that is very large and more efficient than the previous EIGRP. In large-scale computer networks must use good security. One method of network security is the Access control List (ACL) capable of supporting the performance of IPv6. The application of ACL in this study is able to filter the access of network users by using IPv6 Extended ACL. Based on the results of EIGRPv6 network testing, the average packet delivery time is 7.6ms. And the application of IPv6 ACL is able to limit access to Web Servers, ICMP and FTP Servers properly. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Many robotics domains use some form of nonconvex model predictive control (MPC) for planning, which sets a reduced time horizon, performs trajectory optimization, and replans at every step. The actual task typically requires a much longer horizon than is computationally tractable, and is specified via a cost function that cumulates over that full horizon. For instance, an autonomous car may have a cost function that makes a desired trade-off between efficiency, safety, and obeying traffic laws. In this work, we challenge the common assumption that the cost we optimize using MPC should be the same as the ground truth cost for the task (plus a terminal cost). MPC solvers can suffer from short planning horizons, local optima, incorrect dynamics models, and, importantly, fail to account for future replanning ability. Thus, we propose that in many tasks it could be beneficial to purposefully choose a different cost function for MPC to optimize: one that results in the MPC rollout having low ground truth cost, rather than the MPC planned trajectory. We formalize this as an optimal cost design problem, and propose a zeroth-order optimization-based approach that enables us to design optimal costs for an MPC planning robot in continuous MDPs. We test our approach in an autonomous driving domain where we find costs different from the ground truth that implicitly compensate for replanning, short horizon, incorrect dynamics models, and local minima issues. As an example, the learned cost incentivizes MPC to delay its decision until later, implicitly accounting for the fact that it will get more information in the future and be able to make a better decision.
