The MAGIC telescope is the world's largest gamma ray telescope, designed to look at the light emitted by air shower by Cherenkov effect. It is operating since 2004 at the Roque de Los Muchachos observatory, La Palma, Canary islands. MAGIC-II is the upgrade of the project, consisting of a twin telescope frame with innovative features like new photon detectors to lower the threshold energy further and an ultrafast signal sampling to reduce the effect of the diffuse night sky background. The new acquisition system is based upon a low power analog sampler (Domino Ring Sampler) with frequency ranging from 1. 5 to 4.5 GHz and data are digitized with a 12 bit resolution ADC The analog sampler, originally designed for the MEG experiment, has been successfully tested on site and showed a very good linearity and single photon discrimination capability. data management are performed by 9U VME digital boards called PULSAR (PULser And Recorder) which handle the data compression and reformatting as well. Every board has 80 analog channels plus auxiliary digital signals for trigger and monitor purposes. For a kHz trigger rate and a 2 GHz frequency sampling, the data throughput can be as high as 100MB/s thus being a challenge for modern data transmission and storage solutions. The data are transferred to PCI memory via Gbit optical links using the CERN S-Link protocol and to the mass storage system. The dataacquisition system design and performance are described in detail.

On the basis of analyzing the system flow and data transportation protocols, the key parameters for the algorithm such as the length of time-block, the size of queue and the correlative algorithms of the circular queue are discussed, the relevant flow diagram is described, at last the running instance is given. In this paper, we propose an adaptive gradient learning rule for maximizing the harmony function on Poisson mixtures which are applied more and more extensively in practice, especially for overdispersed data. It is difficult for a replication protocol to deal with the diverse and complex environment. This means that data is less well replicated than it ought to be. To reduce data loss and to optimize replication protocols, we (1) present a finite state machine, (2) run it to manage an asynchronous replication protocol and (3) report a simple evaluation of the asynchronous replication protocol based on our state machine. It's proved that our state machine is applicable to guarantee the asynchronous replication protocol running in the proper state to the largest extent in the event of various possible events. It also can helpful to build up replication-based disaster tolerance systems to ensure the business continuity.

Based on wavelet transform and neural network theory, a traffic-flow prediction model, which was used in optimal control of intelligent Traffic system, is constructed. First of all, we have extracted the scale coefficient and wavelet coefficient from the online measured raw data of traffic flow via wavelet transform;Secondly, an Artificial Neural Network model of Traffic-flow Prediction was constructed and trained using the coefficient sequences as inputs and raw data as outputs;Simultaneous, we have designed the running principium of the optimal control system of traffic-flow Forecasting model, the network topological structure and the data transmitted model;Finally, a simulated example has shown that the technique is effectively and exactly. The theoretical results indicated that the wavelet neural network prediction model and algorithms have a broad prospect for practical application.

This paper is concerned with designing of a multirate controller over a network in which a sensor node transmits data to the controller node only if its measurement value changes more than a given specified 15 value. When the send-on-delta transmission method is used, it is not ensured that the controller node receives data from the sensor nodes regularly at every control updating period. We thus propose a modified Kalman filter in which states of the plant are regularly estimated even if there is no sensor data reception. An optimal LQG controller is then designed in order to minimize the quadratic cost function of state and control effort. By providing the upper and lower bounds of the cost function, we prove that the proposed multirate controller is stable with the given 15 value, which is a trade-off parameter between control performance and data transmission rate. Through numerical simulations, we demonstrate the feasibility and the usefulness of the proposed control method.

Multivariate visualization techniques are often used as assistant tools for classification tasks up to now. However, few classification systems fully utilize the capability of multivariate visualization and integrate them with multivariate analysis algorithms into a compact system. We propose an interactive visual classification model based on some multivariate graphical presentation in this paper. As an example of it, a visual classifier based on parallel coordinates plot is developed. The multivariate data is first mapped to the parallel coordinates plot, and then an optimizer based on linear discrintinant analysis optimizes it into the visualization more fit for classification tasks. This optimized visualization then can be processed by decision tree algorithm and attain classification rules. It has the merit of making the invisible visible and users can steer the classification process, consequently favor the understanding and knowledge discovery of original data.

This paper proposes a time and frequency synchronization technique for MIMO OFDM system by employing the loosely synchronous (LS) codes as the training sequences. The auto-correlation functions of all LS codes are ideal, and there exists an interference-free window (IFW) or a zero correlation zone (ZCZ) in their cross-correlation functions of the LS codes around the origin. These properties of the LS codes make the synchronization of the MIMO OFDM system easily and more accurate. The synchronization process proposed in this paper can be viewed as the four stage process of 1) segmented matched filter based coarse time acquisition, 2) the coarse frequency offset estimation by the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) technique with quadratic interpolation in the frequency domain, 3) fine time acquisition and channel estimation by LS code coherent detection, 4) phase rotation based fine frequency offset estimation. Through the simulation, the synchronization algorithm shows satisfactory performance even at a low SNR, high frequency offset and in a frequency selective channel.
