Information of any kind always involve some kind of uncertainty, inaccuracy. The model used to represent the information during the information processing can affect the achievable preciseness and can determine the usability of different computing methods, as well. The data model must also be able to represent the uncertainty, inaccuracy of both the input data and the results. The two most popular data models for the representation of uncertain data are the "classical", probability based and the recently introduced fuzzy data model. With the increasing complexity of the computing problems and with the appearance and spreading of new modeling and computing techniques, the evaluation and representation of the uncertainty in different systems become an increasingly important question and methods for the mixed use of different data models can also be needed. This paper deals with the limits of the "classical", probability theory based uncertainty representation and examines possible solutions for information processing based on mixed data models together with different conversion methods between fuzzy and probability theory based representations.

Present times can be defined by growing amount of data and information as well as growing complexity of data flows. In order to process this amount of data and information there are efforts of development of specialized systems to process variety of geographical data Geographical Information systems (GIS). GIS systems are foremost intended to archive data, but they are also able to solve some specific tasks, e.g. modeling of beneficial component distribution in mineral deposits. Geological phenomena modeling using GIS depends on correct interpretation of large amount of data acquired by measurement and observation. A single processor computer have found its performance limits. Thus, parallel computers take place in these exacting computations. Parallel computing requires special hardware and software support, but once it is correctly used it surpass performance of single processor computers. Multiprocessor systems encompass mathematically highly exacting visualization and modeling methods (e.g. geological objects modeling in geology) in few minutes or seconds instead of days or hours when using single processor computer.

Advancements in engineering modeling have changed the work of engineers during the last two decades. Sophisticated descriptions store information about shape oriented engineering objects and their relationships. Boundary representations of form features constitute shape models. Rules and checks have replaced simple data form of shape model entity attributes. This change of modeling facilitates a next step towards application of computer intelligence at engineering object related decisions. The authors propose a method of intelligent attribute definition for integrated decision assistance environments of modeling systems. This method provides quick and comprehensive assessment of situations for decisions on modification of modeled objects in very complex information environments. The paper starts with an outline of the approach to intelligent decision assistance by the authors. Next, an Internet portal communicated scenario of the proposed modeling is discussed. Following this, multilevel solution for modeling, adding characteristics for engineering objects, and definitions and communications are detailed as essential methods in the proposed modeling. Finally, behaviors for essential classes of modeled objects and an example for the definition of situations and behaviors represent implementation issues.

GSM is one of most important technology in wireless communication system, which contains three main services of short message, speech communication and data communication. Aiming at the feature of farm information acquisition of large quantity information, real-time and working infield, the paper combined the GSM module with farm information acquisition, and advanced a new farm information measurement system using wireless communication technology namely GSM technology. The measurement system became more convenient after GSM technology putting to use. The system includes GPS receiver, moisture sensor, a device which was designed by programming of single chip computer to measure soil moisture and positioning, two GSM wireless communication modules and a computer. The system could realize the function of transmitting the farm information to laboratory in the forms of GSM short message, and solved the problem of limitation of information storage and the inconvenience of carrying a datalogger device to the farmland.

This research paper deals with strategies and algorithms for development of the computational techniques in the field of 3D metrology. Very often a mechanical surface has to be analyzed for presence of either deterministic or random components of the signals while scanning. It is necessary to obtain maximum information on the geometrical errors, as well as about the factors causing certain roughness or surface wear. An approach, separating such components is proposed and discussed. The design of the experiment is based on the correlation analysis (in particular, on the analysis in time domain of the autocorrelation curve attenuation).

In this paper we address the automation of morphological design as a part of a complete automatic design system that considers the divergent and convergent stages of the design process through evolutionary procedures. The system provides a way to contemplate the introduction of aesthetic elements. This is a difficult problem within an automatic design system, as aesthetics are subjective and depend on the opinions of humans and humans do not usually agree. The objective here is to be able to obtain the best possible aesthetic solutions for a given set of humans through the introduction of a set of man machine interfaces that allow the system to extract information on their relative opinions without explicitly asking them, and combines them with the engineering information provided by other simulators that participate in the design process.

A specific integrated controller for a wireless and autonomous microrobot of 1 cm 3 is presented. The microrobot is equipped with an atomic force microscopy (AFM) probe, a syringe or a gripper to develop cooperative tasks in biological experiences. Its main functionality and the controller design is focused on nanomicroscopy and cellular manipulation. The circuit manages the microrobot locomotion unit and its tools with nanometric resolution.
