This paper presents the full-duplex architecture of the X-MatchPRO lossless data compressor and its highly integrated implementation in a non-volatile reprogrammable ProASIC FPGA. The X-MatchPRO architecture offers a data independent throughput of 100 Mbytes/s and simultaneous compression/decompression for a combine full-duplex performance of 200 Mbytes/s clocking at 25 MHz. Both compression and decompression channels fit into a single A500K130 ProASIC FPGA with a typical compression ratio that halves the original uncompressed data. This device is specifically targeted to enhance the performance of Gbit/s data networks and storage applications where it can double the performance of the original system.

In this paper, we propose a model for the transport system based on a Hierarchical Multi-Agent System (HMAS). This model can be used in order to design a Decision-Support System (DSS) to facilitate the work of the regulator by proposing him various regulation actions in every connection node (SARC : Syst me d'Aide a la Regulation des Correspondances). An optimal organization of the connections is suggested, in normal or disturbed conditions, to avoid loss of time for the passengers. Our model includes a supervisor agent (interface), a connection agent (decision) for each connection node and an acquisition agent (perception) for each regulation station. In our research, we have used Multi-Agent systems (MAS) which adapt themselves perfectly to the distributed systems as in the urban transport networks.

In this work the basic structure of a processor that performs multichannel data processing by the symmetric block data encryption algorithms (SBDEA) is proposed. Attention is concentrated on the following issues: (1) the basic structure of the multichannel data encryption processor using SBDEA that process the data in all standard modes of operation; (2) the basic structure of the single-functional processors that perform data encryption and decryption in all modes of operation; (3) the basic structure of single-functional processors that are oriented on the either data encryption or decryption in all modes of operation. Analysis and comparison of above mentioned structures of multichannel processor are made. As the criteria for structure comparison the hardware costs for the processor implementation and the performance were taken. Three variables of the multichannel processor structure-the iterative, the pipelined, and the iterative-pipelined are proposed. It is demonstrated that for ensuring high performance the most effective are the multifunctional pipelined processor and the iterative-pipelined processor.

Smart antenna systems have been considered for base station (BS) and mobile station (MS) to improve spectral efficiency and link quality. The newly emerging 3rd generation mobile (W-CDMA and cdma2000) systems are required to support high bit rate services. This type of high bit rate traffic inevitably consumes a significant amount of capacity and causes considerable interference to low data rate users. Under these circumstances, the smart antenna system is a good candidate to mitigate this interference and keep link quality at adequate levels. One of the crucial components, which can be very complex, is the searcher whose functionality is to continuously search for new multipath signals for combining. A spatio-temporal searcher structure is proposed to enhance the detection capability of the multipath traffic channel searcher. This structure basically employs a spatio-temporal signal structure to search for a new signal. The detection and false alarm probabilities of the new and conventional schemes are calculated and numerical examples of mean acquisition time are given.

This paper focuses on automatic classification of human chromosomes and develops a classifier based on the so-called fuzzy Hopfield network a dynamic neuro-fuzzy system. The classifier is a neurocomputing model as well as a fuzzy computing model It holds fuzzy clustering capability, and is able to acquire the knowledge about human chromosome data from some samples. Its task is to identify human chromosomes and assign each of them to one of the 24 human chromosome classes (22 autosomes and two sex chromosomes), The research results show that the classifier has a lower unidentified rate and the wrong identification rate of zero. The classifier offers us a promising computerized intelligent machine for automatic analysis of human chromosomes.
