As the army transforms towards the future force and an integrated; network centric; command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4LSR)-based systems-of-systems (SoS) concept, the modeling and simulation (M&S) community is struggling to provide the appropriate support across the advanced concepts and requirements (ACR); research, development, and acquisition (rdA); training, exercises, and military operations (TEMO); and testing domains. One of the main issues is the ability to translate the operational context and the C4ISR system design into the simulation environment, in a way that is consistent, flexible, and re-usable. The army currently captures the C4ISR system design and its operational use in what is termed the "DoDAF architecture framework". This consists of a number of operational and system views of the underlying data, each of which describes some aspects of the system and its operational context. Modeling and simulation environments, on the other hand, do not usually have a rigorous framework for representing the design. Translating the architecture views into the M&S environment has been a challenge which, to date, no simulation environment handles adequately. In this paper, we will present an approach that creates a bridge between the C4ISR architecture and the simulation environment by applying the following three-step strategy: 1) adapt the framework products; 2) populate the M&S data in a DoDAF framework-compliant database; and 3) translate architecture views into simulation.

Smart antenna systems have been considered for base station (BS) and mobile station (MS) to improve spectral efficiency and link quality. The newly emerging 3rd generation mobile (W-CDMA and cdma2000) systems are required to support high bit rate services. This type of high bit rate traffic inevitably consumes a significant amount of capacity and causes considerable interference to low data rate users. Under these circumstances, the smart antenna system is a good candidate to mitigate this interference and keep link quality at adequate levels. One of the crucial components, which can be very complex, is the searcher whose functionality is to continuously search for new multipath signals for combining. A spatio-temporal searcher structure is proposed to enhance the detection capability of the multipath traffic channel searcher. This structure basically employs a spatio-temporal signal structure to search for a new signal. The detection and false alarm probabilities of the new and conventional schemes are calculated and numerical examples of mean acquisition time are given.

This paper focuses on the autonomous operation optimization algorithm and decision-making system of new power system (NPS), and proposes an optimization algorithm framework based on reinforcement learning (RL) to improve the operation efficiency and security of power system. In this paper, the framework of autonomous operation optimization algorithm based on RL is constructed, the power system is abstracted as markov decision processes (MDP), and an agent is constructed through deep neural network (DNN) to learn the optimal strategy. The algorithm framework can sense the state of power system in real time, realize the optimal control decision through the learning of agents, and comprehensively consider economy, safety and new energy consumption ability. In the simulation experiment, this paper uses MATLAB/Simulink platform to build NPS model, which verifies the remarkable advantages of RL algorithm in reducing system operation cost and improving decision efficiency. Compared with traditional linear programming and dynamic programming algorithms, RL algorithm performs better in cost reduction rate and decision-making time, with the cost reduction rate as high as 15.24% and the distribution of decision-making time more centralized and stable. In addition, this paper also discusses the evaluation and analysis method of key technologies based on patent indicators, identifies the "stuck-neck" technology in the power industry, and designs a decision support system (DSS) architecture for NPS. DSS architecture includes four core modules: data acquisition and processing, RL algorithm, decision analysis and user interaction. Through modular design, information can be transmitted and shared efficiently, which provides a strong guarantee for intelligent optimization and decision support of power system. Addressing the challenge of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) navigating indoors without satellite positioning, this study introduces a novel method combining binocular camera and inertial measurement unit (IMU) data. This approach overcomes the structural differences between visual and inertial information, integrating them effectively for enhanced indoor autonomous navigation. The research presents a gradient-free path planning framework, pivotal for enhancing the UAV's ability to execute efficient and stable flight in intricate indoor settings. The cornerstone of this system is an advanced path planning algorithm, adept at swiftly identifying optimal routes and adapting to environmental shifts. The system's efficacy was rigorously evaluated through simulations and real-world tests, confirming its precision in positioning and path planning without reliance on satellite data. The findings demonstrate the system's capacity for precise localization and effective route determination, utilizing an integration of visual and inertial inputs. This research significantly contributes to the autonomous flight capabilities of UAVs, offering a valuable reference for future UAV autonomous navigation systems. By delving into visual-inertial fusion navigation technology, the study paves the way for expanded indoor UAV applications.

Ensuring the accurate positioning of the vehicle at any time is the key to navigation and path planning in unmanned driving vehicle. Due to the changes and signal attenuation of vehicle-mounted GPS signals when they pass through electric clouds, and the reflection of GPS signals when they encounter glass curtain wall, and under underground garages, tunnels and overpasses, for example, GPS satellite signals cannot be received by vehicle-mounted GPS locator due to the obstruction of buildings. The above-mentioned situations will cause the vehicle GPS positioning signal to be unstable or even missing. And the current positioning method based on lidar has become the mainstream positioning method for unmanned vehicles. However, under bad weather conditions, the detection capability of infrared waves will be greatly attenuated, and the stability of lidar positioning will also be affected. Therefore, this paper introduces an unmanned driving vehicle positioning method based on GPS/lidar/derivative data fusion when the environment map is known. That is, when the GPS signal is good and the lidar is in good weather conditions, the vehicle can be accurately positioned by GPS/lidar/derivation fusion. While the GPS positioning signal or lidar positioning is unstable and in the event of a short absence, it is still can achieve accurate positioning of intelligent vehicles through a derivation-based approach. The experimental data and MATLAB software simulation results show that the horizontal error of vehicle positioning is within the range of 14.3cm and the longitudinal error is within the range of 8.8cm, within 5 seconds after the lidar and GPS signals are lost simultaneously.

This paper described the design of a wind pendulum system, comprising four main components: the operative unit, the data acquisition module, the human-computer interaction interface, and the algorithmic core. By leveraging the principles of the simple pendulum and Lissajous curves, the design enabled the wind pendulum to achieve precise linear and circular motions. The control strategy relied on a fuzzy PID control algorithm, which facilitated closed-loop control and enhanced system stability and performance. The schematic design and PCB layout for the control system were created using Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools. Furthermore, MATLAB simulations and experimental validation were conducted to assess the performance of the fuzzy PID algorithm in comparison to traditional PID control. The experimental results revealed that fuzzy PID control not only reduced overshoot, shortened settling time, and improved accuracy, but also greatly improved the wind pendulum's ability to execute fixed linear and circular motions with speed and precision. This approach demonstrated the benefits of fuzzy PID in optimizing dynamic system performance, particularly in applications demanding high precision and rapid response.

The joint anti-accident exercises between multilevel dispatching and control systems are using dispatcher training simulator (DTS). There are many problems with the existing DTS, such as communication difficulties, extraterritorial role simulation difficulties, uniformity of the training process, thus trainees cannot conduct self-training. This paper introduces non-player character (NPC) simulation technology into DTS to customize and intelligentize the training process. This paper firstly fused the NPC features of the game with the DTS system and established NPC model and behavior tree in DTS. Then simulation is conducted in behaviac software to realize the autonomous guidance and intelligent control of the simulation training process. The feasibility and effectiveness of NPC application in DTS are verified by comparison with the traditional DTS training process.

The control of prosthetics and exoskeletons has significantly advanced in recent years, improving the quality of life for individuals with amputations and motor disabilities through devices that mimic natural limb movements. This study investigates the classification of elbow flexion movements using myoelectric signals (MES) to develop efficient and reliable control systems. Utilizing classifiers such as Random Forest (RF) and Support Vector Machine (SVM), the research focuses on elbow flexion at angles of 0°, 30°, 60°, and 90°. The study collected myoelectric signals from the biceps brachii of eight able-bodied participants, with data acquisition involving 50-second cycle of rest and elbow flexion. Signal preprocessing involved digital filters to remove noise and artifacts, followed by feature extraction, including mean absolute value (MAV), zero-crossing rate (ZC), slope sign changes (SSC), integrated EMG (iEMG), and waveform length (WL). Results show that the classifiers achieve high accuracy, with RF demonstrating a more consistent performance across all angles with an overall accuracy of 65.42%, compared to SVM 59.45%. The highest individual accuracy achieved was 91%, highlighting the potential of these methods. The classifiers, however, showed reduced effectiveness when trained with combined data from all subjects and had notable difficulties in classifying movements at 30 degrees. This study confirms the efficacy of EMG signals for motion classification and highlights the importance of advanced filtering techniques and specific features. Additionally, the prediction response time of the system allows for the implementation of this classification process in real time using both classifiers.

Power transformers are essential and costly components of electrical generation, transmission, and distribution networks. Their failure can result in significant disruptions and pose risks such as fires and chemical leaks, threatening human safety and the environment. The shift towards digitized grid automated systems has heightened the focus on Transformer Live Performance Management (TLFM) among industry and academia. Consequently, various continuous and offsite performance tracking methods have been developed for electrical transformers. This paper presents an advanced review of these status-tracking techniques for oil transformers, including monitoring methodologies, outcome evaluations, and the evolution of long-term strategies. Additionally, it provides a framework for developing an online platform to enhance transformer lifecycle information, thereby improving grid reliability and sustainability. The study investigates transformer failures in Saudi Arabia, analyzing over 85% of transformer assets from Saudi Arabia. data from 4 years reveal that non-catastrophic failures predominantly occur in transformers very old transformers, while catastrophic failures are more frequent in those aged 11-20 years and over 40 years. The paper comprehensively compares various tracking techniques, discussing their advantages, limitations, current technological constraints, and potential future applications.
