In today's world, the problem of taking care of elderly people in their old age is just important and tedious as of taking care of a child, but the time and requirements are not available for everyone. The proposed project is developed in such a way that all the required monitoring is done automatically and the data reports and required suggestions are sent to the caretakers. The aim of the proposed IoT based smart bed system is to assist caretakers in helping elderly people who feel difficulty in taking care of themselves. Different sensors are used to measure the heart rate, temperature, blood pressure, and wetness. Raspberry Pi is used to interface with all the sensors. Raspberry Pi collects all the sensor data. These sensor data are given to the recommender system. Based on these sensors' data, the recommender system produces the output. For example, if the heart rate is high and blood pressure is low, the system tells that body needs oxygen, and this output is sent to the server, and an alert is sent to the caretakers to take further actions. The total setup of the hardware is so compact that it provides the elderly people as if a normal bed and also additional monitors can be set up for enabling an easy view of the sensor readings. The prototype of the bed is developed and the readings are viewed using a web server. © 2022 ieee.

The fundamental purpose of this study is to check the impact of six sigma on project success by introducing the knowledge and trust nexus for engineering projects. The sample size of the study is 235 respondents and data is collected from the engineering industries through convenience sampling technique. The data collected is then analyzed by applying the structural equation modeling (SEM) technique in Smart-PLS in order to examine the relationships among observed variables. The outcome confirms the sharing of knowledge within the employees is directly linked to the project success, which align with the previous studies. Moreover, sharing of knowledge will help the employee to more learning and enhance their performance to achieve the project goals and objectives which leads to the success of the project. The outcomes also demonstrate the moderating role of trust between the six sigma and knowledge sharing. The study is unique in its scope and implications as the focus is upon empirical investigation of the impact of application of six sigma on project success in the context of developing economy like Pakistan.

The task of Human Activity Recognition (HAR) finds application in smart homes and assisted living and is mostly approached with machine learning. Sensor data for HAR is often collected and processed by separate devices. Performing the recognition task directly on the sensor device can decrease network traffic and reduce the related energy consumption and privacy concerns. In this work, an intelligent sensor device is developed that performs real-time HAR on an ESP32-S3 microcontroller using ambient audio data. A convolutional neural network to classify human activities is designed and subsequently reduced in size and computation cost in order to enable its inference on the microcontroller. This is achieved with neural architecture search, resulting in multiple simplified model variations. These are tested on the ESP32-S3 and a feasible version is identified.

With the digital transformation of the world and the advancement of technology, we can improve the storage of medical records. In addition to the availability of electronic patient records, we have approached a new methodology with the help of machine learning. The project is to develop an E-Medical Record Management System which maintains patients' medical records that can be accessed from anywhere using the cloud and suggests doctors according to the patient's issues/diseases. Diseases are increasing day by day, so it is tough for physicians to manually keep up the records. Even though patients are careless which leads to taking the check-up again. So our project helps to maintain records. In addition to this, we classified the patient's records based on their required attributes and suggest doctors which are implemented using Recommendation Algorithms(Content-based filtering) under data mining concepts. This system will give an effective and efficient solution to all stakeholders. © 2022 ieee.

The Metaverse is transforming digital engagement across sectors like education, healthcare, and technology. This survey examines how edge computing, combined with 5G, IoT, and AI, supports real-time, immersive experiences. In education, the Edu-Metaverse uses virtual platforms for simulations, STEM learning, language acquisition, and digital education, while addressing challenges such as privacy and scalability. In healthcare, it employs federated learning for secure applications like remote monitoring and diagnostics. Decentralized edge computing is key to solving issues related to interoperability and data security. The framework proposed identifies four essential hubs—design, knowledge, technology, and training connected through infrastructure, accessibility, and policy. The review emphasizes the importance of collaboration across disciplines and the need for infrastructure and training to fully realize the Metaverse’s potential.

Over the years, researchers have developed several expert systems to help cardiologists improve the diagnostic process by predicting heart diseases early on. Most of the available machine learning approaches are complicated and they were generally created for use with large data. Unfortunately, these approaches can't be effectively used in the scenarios with small data to train the model. In this view, this paper proposes a simple and effective diagnostic system that uses Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) with feature selection algorithm to predict heart disease in case of dataset with less records. Proper hyperparameter tuning is vital for the effective deployment of any classifier. To improve the hyperparameters of XGBoost, grid search is employed, which is an optimal method for hyperparameter optimization. Also, the One-Hot (OH) encoding approach is employed to encode categorical information in Cleveland heart disease dataset. To evaluate the proposed work, the suggested model is assessed and compared to other classifiers. The proposed model achieved an Area Under Curve (AUC) of 0.853 and prediction accuracy of 85.96%. From the experimental results, the proposed model achieved higher accuracy when compared to the other models. © 2022 ieee.

Singing speech synthesis is a method to convert the information of lyrics and music score into singing speech. It usually uses statistical parametric synthesis, hidden Markov model-based method, and deep learning method. The naturalness of the synthesized singing voice has been significantly improved, but the naturalness of the special singing method for folk songs is low. Special singing methods are important methods for expressing the artistic characteristics of various folk songs, and it is also an important content in the study of folk song’s ontology. At present, in the field of artificial intelligence, singing speech recognition and synthesis has gradually become a hot research field. In the research of folk song speech recognition and synthesis, the research of special singing method is the key and difficult point. Through the method of phonetic and acoustic analysis, we can quantify and refine the study of special singing methods in folk songs. Taking the folk song "The Precious Horse on the Prairie", which is from the eastern of Yugur nationality in China as an example. Based on the speech signal acquisition, this paper performs an acoustic analysis by using Praat software to extract the fundamental frequency, intensity, jitter, shimmer, the first formant, and the third formant from the segments of drag cavity in this song. What’s more it also summarizes the acoustic characteristics of the drag cavity, in order to provide some method and data reference for the study of special singing methods of folk songs and singing speech synthesis. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) is a technology that can be integrated into fifth generation (5G) communication systems because it can provide degree of freedom (DoF) and high transmission rate by placing hundreds of horns on the base station (BS). For downscaling the energy consumption, it is expected that the application of analog to digital convertors (ADCs), as discussed earlier, will be costly and consistent with the concept of green connectivity in current large MIMO systems. However, radio frequency (RF) degradation, which is inevitable in real-world systems, causes unexpected phase / phase quadrature (IQI) imbalances and reduces the performance of the baseband signal. As a result, a large calculated MIMO is needed to compensate for the IQI results, which encourages us to build work on this paper. This work proposes an effective system for transferring data from sender to recipient with the acceptance of an improved channel. The results obtained show better results in terms of data transfer. © 2022 ieee.

This paper explores how digital auralised 3D models of cultural heritage sites can be used for long-term preservation. An overview of current digitalisation and auralisation techniques will be given, focusing on the results of a project where three music venues were digitalised through laser-scanning surveys, auralised and made available to visitors as a virtual reality application. Furthermore, case studies which had been conducted during the project will be evaluated, and the importance of preservation uses highlighted. The paper finishes with a conclusion and a future outlook.

With the continuous improvement of power grid intelligence, it is necessary to build intelligent and information-based distribution network. This paper presents an intelligent monitoring system of distribution network based on power Internet of things and edge computing. Based on the cloud side end architecture, the real-time operation data and information of the distribution station are fully collected and the state is fully perceived by the intelligent terminal equipment. Zigbee, 485 and other communication methods are used to upload to the edge computing layer to realize the local computing and terminal intelligence, early warning and control of the power grid operation risk, and auxiliary decision-making of the power grid business, so as to ensure the security and stability of the power grid The data processing speed is improved and the business processing ability is enhanced.
