The incorporation of Advance Driver Assistance systems (ADAS) is a growing trend in active safety systems. The current outlook of passive ADAS that, exclusively warning the driver, presents a reactive interaction model in which each system acts independently. The increasing of the amount of in-vehicle passive ADASs arises an interoperability issue against conflict situations that could affect driver's decision-making process negatively, diminishing their attention level. This paper proposes an architecture based on the multi-agent paradigm for designing driver-centered ADASs that operates through the data fusion. The principal goal is to design a hierarchical structure which can manage the knowledge acquisition process of all aspects involved in the driving scene such as the environment as well as the driver's behavior and state, providing support for building and testing reasoning models. An experimental method was performed to verify the feasibility of the proposed approach using the deployment of a warning ADAS which involves the interaction of several developed systems. Besides, the staging of one set of specific hazardous driving situations was designed to conduct an experimental assay with ten drivers in a driving simulation system. Regarding evaluation measurements, the analysis of the reaction time performed by the drivers and user questionnaires collected after each experimental session has shown promising results.

The problem of the rapid creation of effective web applications of one class using formal means is considered. A conceptual approach to its solution is offered based on an analysis of the peculiarities of the construction of web applications. Our approach is based on defining the standard web application architecture and selecting its components using formal methods in accordance with user requirements. A formal logical system is proposed that uses the design of web applications as a process of outputting a formula specified according to the needs of the user, which defines the schemes of execution of the modules of the system. An important feature of this approach is the ability to visualise the process of designing the system in 3D, which creates the conditions for effective interaction between developers and machine development tools.

To accommodate execution mode change and hardware malfunction, dynamic system reconfiguration, which invokes application migration across different processing cores, needs to be supported on multi-core embedded systems. Different application migration strategies will impact system's timing behaviors in different manners, it is important to select an appropriate one such that the system's timing performance after the migration process is still acceptable. The focus of our research is to predict the system's timing change of possible migration strategies and upon which to choose the optimal one. Extensive experiments have been set up by running multiple benchmarks and experimental results validate the effectiveness of our proposed approach.

The monitoring of industrial environments ensures that highly automated processes run without interruption. However, even if the industrial machines themselves are monitored, the communication lines are currently not continuously monitored in todays installations. They are checked usually only during maintenance intervals or in case of error. In addition, the cables or connected machines usually have to be removed from the system for the duration of the test. To overcome these drawbacks, we have developed and implemented a cost-efficient and continuous signal monitoring of Ethernet-based industrial bus systems. Several methods have been developed to assess the quality of the cable. These methods can be classified to either passive or active. Active methods are not suitable if interruption of the communication is undesired. Passive methods, on the other hand, require oversampling, which calls for expensive hardware. In this paper, a novel passive method combined with undersampling targeting cost-efficient hardware is proposed.

Specialized data processing aimed to the emergency forecasting on local climate dynamics over last century from the bifurcation analysis viewpoint can suppose analytics on specific phenomena which were out of considerations until recently. The paper discusses a pilot version of the computer software, where one of such phenomena (namely, so-called interannual temperature variability) is involved into the consideration in daily terms for time and temperature coordinates. Cycling is organized per a local climate system, where five logically independent procedures operate with specialized 3D-structure. Each 3D-structure consists of 20-50 thousands samples of the meteorological observations on land surface air temperature daily means. The theoretical base is provided by the conceptual model on local climate dynamics (so-called HDS-model), where both the amplitude quantization (limited by the temperature Hysteresis) and the time quantization (the Double Synchronization) compete. Thus alternations between three elementary dynamical processes with the same period (one year) and different patterns of annual warming-cooling cycles exist instead of traditional trend estimations calculated for the annual and/or monthly means. We believe that the results could be interesting for scientists and specialists in the research and practical fields connected with consequences of the climate changes.

Beam energy is a key property to determine the accelerator performance. A real-time and non-destructive method should be used for the energy measurement. In this paper, an energy measurement system based on Experimental physics and industrial control systems (EIPCS) is designed and developed for a proton LINAC. The original signals are from beam position monitor, which give us the beam phase information through its electronics. An algorithm from beam energy to phase is deduced. Based on EPICS, the client completes the data acquisition, the IOC achieves beam energy measurement algorithms, and last a whole energy measurement OPI performed by CSS.

Wireless technologies are one of the core components of the future industrial applications. They provide flexibility and scalability to the factory floor in parallel with deployment cost reduction. In our paper, we concentrate on future-oriented human-machine interaction (HMI) applications such as augmented reality (AR) or mobile control. Based on their requirements, we provide an investigation of ieee 802.11 channel access techniques with respect to their suitability for industrial applications.

The following article sets out four acquisition methods of data obtained on the basis of brain signals: EEG, NIRS, fMRI as well as PET. Moreover, it provides the readout analysis of the signals occurring within the human brain and a possible manner of archiving and processing them. For an illustrative readout of the signals, a multi-channel encephalograph was applied. With the use of Emotiv Xavier TestBench application, time-varying EEG signals from individual electrodes were recorded in the .edf format which were subsequently subjected to Toolbox EEGLab for Matlab.

In this paper, we present benefits of using crowdsourcing to build speech and language resources for different annotation tasks for dialectal Arabic as an example of resource-poor languages. We show recommendations for job design and quality control that allow us to build high quality data for variety of tasks. Most of these recommendations are language-independent and can be applied to other languages as well. We summarize lessons learned from experiments in data acquisition tasks, such as image annotation (transcription of Arabic historical documents), machine translation (translation from English to Hindi), speech annotation (transcription of dialectal Arabic audio files), text annotation (conversion from dialectal Arabic to Modern Standard Arabic (MSA)), and text classification (annotation of offensive language on Arabic social media, and classification of questions on Arabic medical web forums). © 2018, Springer International Publishing AG.

The commonly agreed Zipf-like access pattern of Web work-loads is mainly based on Internet measurements when text-based content dominated the Web traffic. However, with dramatic increase of VoD media traffic on the Internet such as Flash P2P, the inconsistency between the access patterns of media objects and the Zipf model has been observed in a number of studies. Recently, many researcher has mentioned take long tail effect as a replacement of Zipf law. In this paper, we have studied a large variety of media work-loads collected from both browser and server sides in Adobe Flash P2P systems which applied in Youku, Youtube etc. Through extensive analysis and modeling, we find the object reference ranks of all these workloads follow the logistic (LOG) distribution despite their different media systems and delivery methods, This mean it does not follow long tail effect;We have further analyzed the effectiveness of media caching with a mathematical model.
