The incorporation of Advance Driver Assistance systems (ADAS) is a growing trend in active safety systems. The current outlook of passive ADAS that, exclusively warning the driver, presents a reactive interaction model in which each system acts independently. The increasing of the amount of in-vehicle passive ADASs arises an interoperability issue against conflict situations that could affect driver's decision-making process negatively, diminishing their attention level. This paper proposes an architecture based on the multi-agent paradigm for designing driver-centered ADASs that operates through the data fusion. The principal goal is to design a hierarchical structure which can manage the knowledge acquisition process of all aspects involved in the driving scene such as the environment as well as the driver's behavior and state, providing support for building and testing reasoning models. An experimental method was performed to verify the feasibility of the proposed approach using the deployment of a warning ADAS which involves the interaction of several developed systems. Besides, the staging of one set of specific hazardous driving situations was designed to conduct an experimental assay with ten drivers in a driving simulation system. Regarding evaluation measurements, the analysis of the reaction time performed by the drivers and user questionnaires collected after each experimental session has shown promising results.

A sensorless V/f speed controller for single phase induction motors is proposed, based on a 3-phase to single-phase matrix converter and a fuzzy asymmetrical PWM modulation technique. The system is implemented with a low-cost microcontroller and achieves smooth response to the input control parameter. It also provides an optimization of the output power factor, since it reduces effectively the inductive behavior of the motor. The proposed controller is compared with other modulation techniques and is found to achieve superior speed regulation and a better power factor all over the speed control range.

Nowadays modern technology extensively uses radiation generators and radioactive sources, potentially dangerous both to human health and to the environment. In this context, there is a permanent request for high standards regarding safety and control. The paper presents a remote control data system for in-situ γ-radiation measurements that has to ensure minimal measurements impact and a feasible solution for data transmission control. © 2017 ieee.

The positioning accuracy of Wireless Sensor Networks [1] (WSNs) determines the performance of this network. In order to improve the accuracy of mobile node ranging in Wireless Sensor Networks, this paper proposed a Trilateration algorithm based on Minimum Generalization Error. The method using signal strength data of the anchor node which was measured by the RSSI[2] (Received Signal Strength Indicator, RSSI) for modeling, and the Minimum Generalization Error to optimize the Trilateration Positioning algorithm to target node ranging. Compared with the traditional Trilateration positioning algorithm [3]-[4], this method is higher in accuracy and stronger in adaptability.

A cryptographic security scheme is proposed for a subsystem of the integrated computer-aided system that is intended for holding elections and counting the election returns. The main idea is to use two modern quantum cryptographic technologies: quantum bit commitment and quantum secret sharing. The scheme of information security of vote count procedure, and also the quantum bit commitment protocol and the quantum secret sharing protocol, are described. Using the protocols of quantum cryptography increases security of the computer-aided voting system on comparison with protocols of usual classical cryptography.

In the recent years, many energy-efficient real-time task scheduling algorithms have been proposed for multi-core platforms. Most of them focus on independent tasks, however, relatively little work has been done in the presence of task synchronization. In this paper, we are interested in scheduling of real-time tasks which may make requests for accessing shared resources at the run time. A similarity-based task-to-core partitioning algorithm is proposed to allocate the tasks which may access a similar set of shared resources to the same core so that a large number of blockings can be avoided. Furthermore, we also propose speed assignment methods to assign proper processor speeds for tasks' executions with full-chip and per-core DVFS techniques so that the overall energy consumption can be reduced. The schedulability analysis of our proposed approach is provided in this paper. The capabilities of our proposed approach were evaluated by a series of experiments for which we have some encouraging results.

Smart-card-based user authentication is a significant security mechanism that allows remote users to be granted access to services and resources in distributed computing environments like clouds. In this paper, we revisit two password authentication schemes with smart cards proposed by Mishra et al. and Wu et al. in 2015, respectively. We demonstrate that: (1) Despite being armed with a formal security proof in both schemes, Mishra et al.'s scheme actually cannot achieve the claimed feature of user anonymity and is vulnerable to insider attack;and (2) Wu et al.'s scheme remains being susceptible to de-synchronization attack as they stated to overcome the weaknesses of Kumar et al.'s scheme. Furthermore, with the cryptanalysis of these two schemes and our previous protocol design and analysis experience, we figure out two principles to design more robust smart-card-based user authentication schemes. The proposed principles would be helpful to protocol designers for proposing schemes with desirable user friendliness and security.

Diversity and subdiversity-oriented systems applied in safety critical industry systems are analyzed through the use of the classification scheme described in standard NUREG7007. This classification is specified considering diversity of hardware and FPGA designs. In particular, diversity of hard logic and soft processors, interfaces and buses, self-diagnostics means, etc. are described. Impact of hardware/FPGA diversity on safety of Instrumentation and Control systems (I&Cs) are analyzed. The technique for selecting such diversity is presented.

In recent years, fuzzy portfolio selection theory has been well developed and widely applied. Based on the credibility theory, several fuzzy portfolio selection models have been proposed. The fuzzy Mean-CVaR portfolio model is one of the state-of-the-art. However, its' fuzzy nature which increases the computational complexity makes it take a long time to solve. In order to solve the fuzzy Mean-CVaR portfolio model efficiently, a hybrid intelligent algorithm is designed by integrating Genetic Algorithm(GA) with adaptive penalty function, Simulated Annealing Resilient Back Propagation (SARPROP) neural network and fuzzy simulation techniques, and to accelerate the computation speed further, we parallelize the hybrid intelligent algorithm with MPI technology. In order to demonstrate its validity and efficiency, we achieve numerical experiments on the Era supercomputer, and the results are compared with the method which is obtained by integrating traditional GA and fuzzy simulation directly. The results show that hybrid intelligent algorithm can get better performance. Experiments under different processor cores also achieved on the Era supercomputer demonstrate the scalability of the parallel hybrid intelligent algorithm.
