Present research strives to implement the agricultural farming robot which can move instinctively, instinctively, involuntarily for ploughing, seeding and irrigation in closed field. This research also contributes to enhance functionality of Agri-Bot in the field for spying. The agri robot is equipped with a camera and sends the data to pc through Wi-Fi network. The robot has ploughing blades and servo motor for distributing the seeds and irrigation into the field. It works with ultrasonic sensor and IR sensor. Ultrasonic sensor is for avoiding obstacles in the field, IR sensor is for sensing felid boundary. Arduino controller acts as heart and brain of the system, it makes fast, accurate, autonomous movement. Video acquisition and transmitting camera mounted on it is 360° rotatable. This Research features a Agri-Bot that uses Wi-Fi 802.11G along with TCP/IP protocol. IP address and Video is received in laptop for further processing. This research intends to reduce human efforts and provide an intelligent aid to the farmers.

The problem of the project management is performed with the optimization task under uncertainty and subject to real-world constraints. We use the probability theory and insufficiently proved methods, due to unavailable data indeed we need different methods for a best way to evaluate uncertainty. One of these approaches is based on the application of the fuzzy sets theory. Since its inception in 1965, the theory of fuzzy sets has advanced in a variety of ways and in many disciplines. Applications of this theory can be found, for example, in artificial intelligence, computer science, medicine, control engineering, decision theory, expert systems, logic, management science, operations research, pattern recognition, and robotics. This paper proposes a fuzzy decision making approach for project selection problem under uncertainty. An evaluation is provided as an illustration of the proposed approach. In the conclusion, we show how this method can help decision makers in the selection of appropriate project based on their profitability.

The world of industrial automation technology is at the outset of a new era of innovation with the hype of Industry 4.0. Global modern industrial system converges the power of machines, computing, analytics, connectivity, cyber-physical systems, Internet of things, automation, cloud system and data exchange. Industry 4.0 is a revolution towards the digital world of digital factories and smart products. Big data is an integration of multi-disciplinary technologies and facilitates customer by bringing incredible services to a click. Internet of things connected the world of machines by adding communication capability in every device to connect to other devices or access the Internet. Big data inflict a new horizon of opportunities in these systems. In this paper, challenges and opportunities of industrial big data are revealed in the context of Industry 4.0 with a different perspective. The current study helps the researchers to threshold these modern systems of Industry 4.0 in designing big data algorithms and techniques.

Smart grid infrastructure is an integration of advanced communication, sensing and computing techniques into the existing physical electrical grid. It is emerging as a critical cyber-physical system (CPS) infrastructure. CPS comes across as systems with a tight integration between the physical and the cyber layers in addition to the communication network. This exposes it to a risk of mis-operation when subjected to false or malicious data injection from intruders or adversaries. In order to address this issue, this paper proposes a data analytics based cyber defense strategy of a substation automation system (SAS) by developing an intelligent module which uses Support vector machine (SVM) along with Principal component analysis (PCA). We propose a two stage approach for detecting the false data injection by an intruder into the system. First stage reduces the high dimensional dataset to a lower dimension using PCA and the second stage uses SVM on the reduced dataset for detecting the malicious attempts of introducing false data into the system. The proposed module uses the measurement values received from the Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs). Upon receiving a fault signal, the protection system initiates checks on incoming data patterns and compares it with the behavior of system dynamics. Using data analytics tools the fault condition signaling is classified as actual (real) fault or false (fake) fault with malicious intentions. The proposed methodology is demonstrated on three bus power network.

American college students are increasingly put in situations involving unarmed or armed attacks. Recent incidents demonstrate that college campuses are targets for mass shootings. As such tragic incidents become ever more frequent, it is critical for students to know how to react. However, current self-defense courses in higher education offer experience-based learning without the benefit of much research to measure how well instructors make corrections that actually increase the students ability to defend and escape attacks. Thus, in this paper, we propose to design a revolutionary self-defense education system that transfers self-defense education from an instructor experience-based model into a science-based model assisted with instructor experience. The system is based on modern technology with a combination of sensors, big data, and mobile applications that will target functions and strictly control all of the learning, lab applications assessment, and real-time feedback.

In SCADA systems, there are many RTUs (Remote Terminal Units) are used for field data collection as well as sending data to master node through the communication system. In such case master node represents the collected data and enables manager to handle the remote controlling activities. The RTU is nothing but the unit of data acquisition in standalone manner. The processor used in RTU is vulnerable to random faults due to harsh environment around RTUs. Faults may lead to the failure of RTU unit and hence it becomes inaccessible for information acquisition. For long running methods, fault tolerance is major concern and research problem since from last two decades. Using the SCADA systems increase the problem of fault tolerance is becoming servered. To handle the faults in oreder to perform the message passing through all the layers of communication system fo the SCADA that time need the efficient fault tolerance. The faults like RTU, message passing layer faults in communication system etc. SCADA is nothing but one of application of MPI. The several techniques for the fault tolerance has been described for MPI which are utilized in different applications such as SCADA. The goal of this paper is to present the study over the different fault tolerance techniques which can be used to optimize the SCADA system availability by mitigating the faults in RTU devices and communication systems.

Developing multimedia embedded applications continues to flourish. In fact, a biometric facial recognition system can be used not only on PCs abut also in embedded systems, it is a potential enhancer to meet security and surveillance needs. The analysis of facial recognition consists offoursteps: face analysis, face expressions' recognition, missing data completion and full face recognition. This paper proposes a hardware architecture based on an adaptation approach foran algorithm which has proven good face detection and recognition in 3D space. The proposed application was tested using a co design technique based on a mixed Hardware Software architecture: the FPGA platform. © 2017 ieee.

The aim of active and assisted living (AAL) is to develop tools to assist the elderly people in the ageing status. Human posture recognition algorithms can help monitor aged people in home environments. Different types of sensors can be used for such a task. A case in point is the RGBD sensors, which are cost-effective and provide rich information about the environment. This work aims to propose a posture recognition approach exploiting skeleton data extracted from Kinect. Our approach is based on the pose prediction using key joints features. We exploit the Convolution Neural Network for pose estimation and a multiclass Support Vector Machine to perform posture classification. The proposed approach has been tested on a publicly available dataset for activity recognition, namely CAD60. Our approach compares favorably previous works for both human pose estimation and posture recognition. © 2017 ieee.

Projects are one of the most important organizational patterns in industry and society. Projects drive change and change takes place in a projectized world. Therefore, project management is a competence field which is required in many areas and on various competence levels. Master education in project management is a special type of delivery for project management competence. It combines a scientific approach with an education for a professional domain. Master programmes are an established way of competence delivery in project management-both for graduate students and professionals. With the ambition to define a European way of Master education in project management, the partners of the consortium of the European Master in Project Management (EuroMPM) developed a portfolio of six Master programmes at different European universities. These programmes are closely interlinked with exchange formats for students, scientists and lecturers, double degrees and a joint research community. The programmes follow a similar philosophy and didactic model. They have a synchronized and aligned curriculum. The intended competence profile for the graduates is aligned, too, while still being differentiated by local specialization modules and different target groups. The comprehensive approach in terms of content development, delivery, didactics, community of practice and intended learning outcomes forms a unique model-the EuroMPM model. This contribution aims to define and describe the EuroMPM model. The intention is to serve as a position paper and starting point for the development of a de-facto standard in project management education on Master level. © 2017 ieee.

Nowadays, NoSQL databases become more and more prevalent. As an important category of NoSQL databases, key-value store (KVS) is widely used in many Big data applications by providing flexible and efficient performance. In a KVS, a key-value pair can be easily accessed by giving a key. Recently, a new Ethernet accessed disk drive called "Kinetic Drive" was developed by Seagate. This drive can be directly accessed by applications via IP addresses without going through a dedicated storage server. Given the keys from a user, Kinetic Drive can perform key-value pair operations by itself. It can reduce the management complexity, especially in large-scale deployment. Given a set of Kinetic Drives in a data center, it is important to manage the key-value pairs and store them in an organized way. In this paper, we investigate how to allocate data on a large-scale key-value store system using Kinetic Drives. We show the tradeoff among various design factors. We investigate key indexing schemes and allocate data on drives accordingly. We propose efficient approaches to migrate data among drives. We carry out performance evaluation that shows our approaches can handle various key distributions well.
