For autonomous vehicle and ADAS(advanced Driver Assistance System), it is essential to detect and to track objects within a certain area in realtime. This paper presents the 2D tracker that fuses with four 2D LiDARs and one RADAR. It independently detects objects according to the type of sensors and represents these in the same space. It continuously associates measurements of the same object and tracks these with KF(Kalman Filter) for prediction and JPDAF(Joint Probabilistic data Association Filter) for update. The result of our multi- sensor fusion tracker is demonstrated with a visualization tool.

Road transport vehicles (RTV) technologies, features and capacities are rapidly evolving, hence fostering innovative transport paradigms strongly impacting on all involved transport players. Current and unforeseen technological advances are pushing for creating a novel environment where road transport users can be empowered with tools enabling higher flexibility, bringing new opportunities, opening social ecosystem participation and finally endowing the ability to determine which options are more feasible while traveling. However, the development of such environment is not so easy to deploy. Indeed, intelligent Transport System (ITS) infrastructures should be improved to support the integration of heterogeneous technologies as well as to promote the development of ITS standards and smart transport vehicles utilization. This paper conceptually introduces the characteristics of an innovative hierarchical cloud-based architecture for an invehicular platform that integrates heterogeneous technologies, providing the necessary features to manage the connectivity, data, applications and services for RTV, thus providing them with analytic and smart "social"-oriented capabilities.

Sustainability assessment of intelligent buildings involves multiple indicators and parameters, multi-criteria decision-making and multiple variables model. In order to solve the problem: firstly, identify the key performance indicators of the sustainability related to intelligent buildings (environmental, social, economic and technological factors);optimize the selected indicators with both experts knowledge and measurable data;secondly, develop a new model for measuring the level of sustainability for intelligent buildings. The data acquisition of objective indicators for intelligent buildings is based upon the wireless wearable sensors networks, and the subjective indicators connected with expert experience derived through questionnaire surveys. Using a consensus-based model, which is analyzed by the analytical hierarchical process (AHP) for multi-criteria decision-making. Using the multi-attribute model based on structure entropy weight methodology and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation for priority and weight setting in the sustainability assessment is studied. It is concluded that the whole system not only acquires multiple data but also gets available and reliable assessment for the sustainability of intelligent buildings. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

The VME based Ion Cyclotron Resonance Heating (ICRH) data acquisition Control system (DAC) is commissioned for remote operation of heating experiment on SST-1 Tokamak. ICRH-DAC is physically distributed into two sections at RF Lab and SST-1 hall. RF Generation section at RF Lab and Transmission line, interface and antenna section at the SST-1 hall having its own independent VME based DAC *** system of both section is running on master/ slave configuration when synchronization mode operation is needed. This synchronization of both DAC could be possible with EPICS (Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System) process variables, which broadcast and describe itself in Ethernet network. The existing system uses the TCP/IP Ethernet network for the same. The proposed program is used for real-time state parameters transmission and storage, dynamic graphical display, modification of the interactive system and synchronization. This paper will describe the conceptual design of EPICS based ICRH DAC software to achieve desired goal of experiment for generic development platform oriented toward complex data acquisition is proposed. © Springer India 2014.

The proliferation of data-hungry smart electronic devices, such as smartphones and intelligent vehicles, has driven the capacities of current mobile communication systems towards their limits. To tackle this formidable challenge, 3GPP Long Term Evolution has recognized network densification with low-power small cells (SCs) as a key paradigm in the upcoming 5G communication system. In this article, we introduce a novel wireless backhaul framework for small cell networks by introducing a new backhauling component, which is referred to as Type-A relay. This new entity is capable of communicating simultaneously with two macrocells by leveraging the downlink resource of one cell as well as the uplink resource of the other, which effectively operates in full-duplex mode without incurring additional costs to acquire carrier resources. The proposed approach offers increased architectural flexibility and substantial capacity enhancement over the current LTE relaying-based solutions. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the strong potential of the proposed approach in future 5G communication systems.

The growing complexity of intelligent systems and technologies raises questions concerning their interaction with human intelligence. The loss of an ability to control artificial intelligent and autonomous decision systems (AADS) due to their high level of sophistication exceeding human analytic capabilities may be referred to as one aspect of 'singularity'. The latter term is often used to describe potential threats to the mankind coming from the development of AADS that may outperform human intelligence in its most relevant aspects. This paper presents some results of a recent foresight project SCETIST which shed a new light on the above 'singularity' dilemma. The project aimed at building the scenarios and trends of selected advanced information technologies. Based on a classification of AI enabling technologies, two basic scenarios concerning the development of AADS have been built. The first one points out that the newly emerging global expert systems (GES) coupled with the Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI) will allow the human societies to explore in full all data streams and knowledge repositories available. The global knowledge from all sources will be further processed by GES so that rational human decisions will not be outperformed by those made by AADS. In the second scenario, the AADS enabling technologies will develop faster than BCI and GES, so that autonomous decision systems can dominate. The third scenario, ranked as least probable, indicates a possibility of slowing down the development of ICT and AI, so that the singularity problem is deferred. The time horizon of the above scenarios was 2030. Finally, we will present the recommendations arising from SCETIST from the point of view of shaping the R&D policies.

Hardware-In-Loop simulation (HILS) is the only platform used to validate the on-board software for aerospace applications along with the other flight subsystems. HILS system should be capable of high speed data acquisition, integration with traditional interface protocols to latest technology based interfaces. PCI/ISA based computer system is only able to integrate with limited I/O resources and limited speed. Compact Peripheral Interface (cPCI) protocol is superset of PCI architecture which follows state-of-the art technology that significantly eases the system design task, shortening the design cycle, time-to-market and robust mechanical form factor than desktop computer. This paper provides technical overview of the cPCI system for HILS and real time modeling and simulation software development. Total integration cycle of the system under HILS environment and testing with each HILS configuration is also explained. © 2014 ieee.

Making the traffic more efficient, safer and eco-friendly are important global aims for a sustainable future. To reach these goals electro mobility and V2X-communication are important key technologies. To reduce the emissions the automobile industry presented a quantity of electric car models during the last years. While the range of electric cars with about 150 km is adequate for inner city use, the battery-systems are not suitable for truck purpose. To enable electric driving also for long distance heavy goods vehicles ( HGV) SIEMENS developed the eHighway technology. While using the overhead contact line it is possible to continuously provide electric energy to the vehicle and thus drive environmentally cleaner and more energy efficient. With the V2X-equipment of the eHighway and the connection to the traffic control centre ( Conduct+) it is possible to increase the safety, the road capacity and to provide additional information for eHighway-user and all other V2X-equipped road users. While using the information from existing road sensors combined with the V2I-status-information of the road users, Conduct+ generates a holistic overview of traffic events. Via I2V Conduct+ advises the participants about changes in the traffic flow using in-vehicle signage. On a purpose-build test track SIEMENS and the DLR are proving the interaction of Conduct+, eHighway-infrastructure and V2X-equipped-eTrucks. This paper provides an insight into the eHighway-components and the functionality of the system components which enables the accumulation of traffic-data to enable an intelligent traffic control using V2X.

After studying the structure and model of existing navigation map data, this paper presented a design scheme of intelligent navigation data platform. It described the data model and data organization which was used by data platform, and designed conceptual model, logical model, physical model in detail. This paper achieved the construction of intelligent navigation data platform and provided strong support for various applications of telematics and intelligent tourism.
