Customer profiles are by definition made up of factual and transactional data. It is often the case that due to reasons such as high cost of data acquisition and/or protection, only the transactional data are available for data mining operations. Transactional data, however, tend to be highly sparse and skewed due to a large proportion of customers engaging in very few transactions. This can result in a bias in the prediction accuracy of classifiers built using them towards the larger proportion of customers with fewer transactions. This paper investigates an approach for accurately and confidently grouping and classifying customers in bins on the basis of the number of their transactions. The experiments we conducted on a highly sparse and skewed real-world transactional data show that our proposed approach can be used to identify a critical point at which customer profiles can be more confidently distinguished. © 2011 ieee.

This paper presents a framework for determining the orientation of human faces with a fixed monocular camera which can be used for the purposes of the gaze tracking afterwards. We use homography relation between two views/frames to handle with the lack of depth information. In order to compensate for the lack of depth information in the relationships between the 2D images in the image plane and the 3D Euclidean space, we present a complete vision-based approach to pose estimation. The homography relates corresponding points captured at two different locations of the face and determines the relationships between the two locations using pixel information and intrinsic parameters of the camera. In order to determine the mapping between the two images, it is assumed that in each frame in the video sequence, we are able to locate, extract and labeled four feature points of the face located at virtual plane attached to the face. Face detection and facial feature extraction are executed with Viola-Jones method. The verification stage for face detection use combined cascade of neural network classifiers uses the convolutional neural network. © 2011 ieee.

This paper proposes an ANFIS indoor positioning system based on improved genetic algorithm (GA). In the offline phase, fuzzy rules are abstracted by means of subtractive clustering algorithm with training data, generating the structure of each ANFIS positioning subsystem in X and Y directions. Then each positioning subsystem is trained with improved-GA. In this training algorithm, BP algorithm acts as an operator of GA, thus fully integrating the global search ability of GA and the local search ability of BP. On the other hand, advanced methods such as migration and adaptive mutation probability are also adopted, thus greatly accelerating the convergence of error and achieving the purpose of fast global optimization. Experimental results indicate that this algorithm can achieve a positioning error within 3m with an average positioning error of 1.2965m, meeting the needs in most practical applications. Moreover, it outperforms other positioning algorithms such as BP-ANN and BP-ANFIS positioning systems. © 2011 ieee.

In the peer-to-peer based video-on-demand systems, when the number of users online reaches a certain scale, It will greatly influence the bandwidth and the speed of response server when the number of online users reaches a certain scale. At the same time, there are so many video resources and sometimes the base number of users can not fully meet the number of P2P users that a lot of video resources need to be dealt with by the server, and increase the load on the server, bring the buffer phenomenon as well. To solve this problem, the article refereed to the idea "cloud computing" to design a kind of cross-platform cache server group based on Hadoop synchronization operation storage and solved the problem that store temporary files using cache server. Compared the simulation results with the traditional method of using load balancing and multiple buffer servers we found that the performance of Hadoop framework was improved significantly in feasibility and efficiency when dealing with large data. Finally the prospects of application of cloud computing in VoD/P2P were prospected. © 2011 ieee.

Control valves are used mainly within industrial plants to control operating conditions such as flow, pressure, temperature, and liquid level by fully or partially opening or closing in response to signals received from controllers. The fully opening or closing of control valves is done by means of electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic systems. These control signals, more common now are 4-20mA signals for industry, 0-10V for HVAC systems, & the introduction of "Smart" systems, HART, Fieldbus Foundation, & Profibus being the more common protocols. Developing Distributed Control System is a major industrial concern since those systems are more and more complex and involved in many safety critical application fields. Third-generation DCS employ powerful object-oriented design technology to enable efficiency improvements within daily operations and maintenance activities. In this paper, the Innovative, modernization, design, integration, development and implementation of Valve Master Control Multi-Networking for a computer-based (DCS) tank gauging system for the Large Tank Farm is described. The complex included 37 storage tanks located at 10 different groups. Each group supports data collection on the pipeline computer located in the main control room. The new and modern tank level gauging systems incorporate Radar gauges for tanks, with transmitters for temperature and pressure. All types of these gauges offer an upgrade in performance and maintainability. © 2011 ieee.

The scale, diversity, and decentralized administration of the Internet mean that to continuously acquire the global status of the network and to timely identify the causes of communication performance degradation is reasonably difficult. However, emerging advanced network applications, which are often sensitive to communication quality and bandwidth consumption, as well as increasing security threats, strongly require a higher quality of network measurement and analysis in terms of granularity (spatial and temporal), timeliness, continuity, coverage, and reliability. Integrating multiple-location, diverse-type, and long-term measurements has been considered a key means for coping with such difficulties. In addition, the measured data and analyzed results should be flexibly shared and reused for efficiency. Therefore, a multi-domain network measurement platform should be realized, as it can provide integrated network monitoring and analysis functionality over the Internet on demand and can adapt to the purposes of the individual users (applications) and operators. In this paper, we thus briefly introduce the design principles and software implementation for a perfSONAR-based integrated network measurement system aiming at "Internet Monitoring As a Service", together with a preliminary experiment using a prototype system on the Internet. With help of a function we newly designed and developed, our system can easily utilize new measurement tools and flexibly integrate and provide the measurement results of those tools to users. © 2011 ieee.

At present scenario BP is the emerging factor of mortality. This is the impetus behind the work that had been developed for an intelligent, accurate, continuous diagnosis of hyper blood pressure and hypo blood pressure. Here fuzzy system plays a role of intelligent system which takes age, gender, body mass index, smoking habit, alcohol intake, pregnancy condition, family history as linguistic variables and diagnoses whether the person is having hypotension or hypertension. Apart from diagnosing, the developed system also gives the risk level of getting hypotension or hypertension in future by taking the above linguistic variables. So by improving his/her's life style he/she can have a better control on blood pressure which can extend his or her lifespan. After diagnosing the system is programmed in such a way that it alarms immediately if there is an abnormability in the BP measurement so this helps in self assessment of blood pressure for the individual itself. This system also has an inbuilt provision of sending the analyzed data to the doctor, so that the person can get an online medication which saves the time, cost of travelling, so that the instant medication can be given to prevent the forthcoming adverse damage as early as possible. This system has been developed by using LabVIEW. The BP value is fed into the pc where the analysis of blood pressure value is done by fuzzy system designer available in LabVIEW. The fuzzy system analyzes the current status of the person by taking all the dependent linguistic variables and intelligently diagnose the BP status of the patient by itself. It also responds to the fluctuations in BP. This diagnosed data is send to the physician using web publishing tool in lab view. © 2011 ieee.

Cloud computing has attracted great interest from both academic and industrial communities. However, only a few efforts have been devoted to building tools for supporting Cloud service discovery. In this paper, we present a four-stage, agent-based Cloud service discovery protocol. Utilizing an ontology description, in which each resource is described semantically and relatively to other resources, we develop a multi-agent system that cooperates efficiently by introducing a flexible ontology-based matching. To increase the utility and success rate of matching consumers' requests to resources, we use a database to store and keep track of historical data for making intelligent recommendation based on attribute value prediction. Empirical results show that when broker agents in our system use a Cloud ontology and a connection procedure with a recommendation stage achieved better performance in finding the appropriate Cloud services than when broker agents 1) use only the connection procedure but not the Cloud ontology and 2) do not use both the connection procedure and the Cloud ontology. © 2011 ieee.
