Under the rapid development of information technology in todays society, kiosk system has become an indispensable part in many fields. Especially in retail business, retailers use the kiosk system to meet customer demanding and promote overturn. These systems have been widely used in food chains, department stores, book stores, entertainment and recreation services and supermarkets, which have highly improved the service productivity. This paper describes the background, analyze, design and architecture of a new networked multimedia distributed kiosk system mainly focuses on commercial and home appliances, in order to solve the sale space limitation problem in supermarkets and e-markets. © 2016 ieee.

distributed sensor network protocols, such as routing, time synchronization or data aggregation protocols make use of collaborative techniques to minimize the consumption of scarce resources in sensors. However, compromised and misbehaving nodes are a serious threat, as an attacker can employ them to eavesdrop on communication, inject forged data, or manipulate protocol operation. In this context, distributed revocation protocols play a decisive role since they allow removing compromised nodes in an efficient way. The design of distributed revocation protocols is challenging due to technical restrictions of sensor nodes, the distributed operation of sensor networks, and the presence of compromised nodes that can collude to subvert protocol operation. We propose the Cooperative Security Protocol (CSP) to enhance network security and enable efficient distributed revocation. The CSP is based on the distribution of revocation information - so called partial revocation votes - to the neighbors of a node as prerequisite to join the network. If an intruder refuses to disclose its revocation votes, the network does not allow it to join. Thus, the node is prevented from attacking the network. If the intruder cooperates by disclosing its revocation information, it can endanger the network neither, since its neighbors, which cooperate to monitor its correct operation, can use the revocation information to ban it from the network.

The weather nowadays has become so unpredictable that there is a need for a system that predicts correct weather patterns and allows them to take a precautionary plan of action to cope up with it. Three major sources of providing very crucial weather data are IoT sensors, SAR data and social media posts from a particular location. In this paper, we are proposing a system that takes IoT sensor data, SAR images and twitter feeds from a geographical location and creates a learning model that will provide a decision-making system for anomaly detection in order to minimize or nullify any casualties. A temperature, pressure and humidity dataset of BME 280 sensor is processed with K-NN Classifiers and the results are presented here. © 2020 ieee.

Wireless Multimedia sensor Networks (WMSNs) are used in many application domains, such as surveillance systems, telemedicine and so on. In order to ensure a broad deployment of such innovative services, strict requirements on security, privacy, and distributed processing of multimedia contents should be satisfied, taking also into account the limited technological resources (in term of energy, computation, bandwidth, and storage) of sensor nodes. Thus, with respect to classic Wireless sensor Networks, the achievement of these goals is more challenging due to the presence of multimedia data, which usually requires complex compression and aggregation algorithms. In order to provide a unifying synthesis on the last achievements, this survey summarizes the main findings on secure WMSNs proposed in the literature and forecasts future perspectives of such a technology. © 2009 ieee.

Wireless sensor Networks (WSNs) have an excellent application to monitor environments such as military surveillance and forest fire. However, in many scenarios, WSNs are of interested to adversaries and these sensor nodes are deployed in open and unprotected environments, the security of WSNs is still an important issue. Traditionally cryptographic mechanisms such as authentication and encryption only address part of the problem of security in WSNs. In recent years, the use of reputation and trust systems has become an important mechanism for security in WSNs. In this paper, we develop a distributed agent-based trust model in WSNs. We also discuss some attacks in reputation and trust system, and offered some schemes to defense these attacks. The simulation results and analysis show that our model can detect the malicious nodes fast and accurately and efficiently prevent these attacks in WSNs.

In recent years, many routing protocols for wireless sensor networks (WSNs) have been designed to achieve high energy-efficiency, high reliability, low overhead, etc. However, few routing protocols for WSNs were designed to minimize the communication delay, which is one of the most important requirements for applications of WSNs, such as real-time surveillance systems. In this paper, a novel real-time routing protocol for WSNs is proposed for guaranteeing real-time communication. Additionally, energy-efficiency that prolongs the network lifetime is fully considered. Performance analyses and simulation results show that our protocol has much better performance than Directed Diffusion [2] and Rumor Routing [5] in terms of both communication delay and network lifetime.

This paper introduces an architecture for deploying software (components, services, etc) on distributed, large-scale computing infrastructures, like e.g. computing grids. Deployment encompasses many actions like the discovery of resources and enquiry about their current state, selection among the different versions of the software according to these states, robust, scalable and rapid software provisioning, installation and start-up, and eventually software installation monitoring, updating and unprovisioning. Our solution addresses all those steps through an integrated and scalable approach implemented using the standard Java JMX and the ProActive Grid technologies, which we illustrate in the context of OSGi gateways. © 2007 ieee.

The increasing number of internetworking communication networks and technologies require more and more flexible computing solutions, connecting resources in a transparent, open and reliable way. Parallelism and redundancy enables distributed service centers to provide sustained high Quality of Service and performance. Similar approaches are also used in other distributed systems. Unfortunately, the resulting concurrencies of such systems complicate control and maintenance. In this paper, the authors present the system framework of a distributed service center and a rule-based software for the evaluation of status reports coming from the different components of the distributed service center. This software has been developed for a commercial SMS Center. Trouble shooting in the resulting distributed hardware and software system is achieved by using data mining techniques. © 2007 ieee.

In the open literature, it is shown that the received carrier-to-interference ratio (CIR) in cellular mobile systems can be maintained within the desirable range provided that the path gain remains approximately constant over a number of consecutive power control steps. However, when channels suffer short-term fading, it is not clear whether existing power control algorithms remain convergent. This paper proposes a distributed fixed-step power control algorithm with binary feedback via window concept for cellular mobile systems. The performance of the proposed scheme is analyzed in short-term fading channels. A sufficient condition for system stability is derived using a simple received CIR model and a power control window. It is shown that the bound of the received CIR of each user varies as a function of the target CIR the size of the power control step, and the link gain.

Disaster relief is an important application of sensor networks, in which bursting data needs to be collected in a short period to the sink through a multi-hop wireless network. In general, packets containing the reported data have few correlations among each other, such that meaningful information can be inferred from partially received packets. For better understanding of monitored events, it is more important to capture the total number of unique reports rather than to reliably deliver each individual packet. Therefore, in the case of monitoring disaster filed with bursting data, communication channel throughput has higher priority than the channel reliability. Under this circumstance, we revisit the sensor network transport protocols, which use hop-by-hop recovery to provide reliable data transmission over unreliable links. We found that the complex recovery mechanism, while assuring high reliable individual packet delivery, reduces channel throughput when measured data is reported at high rate. To provide optimal data transport in a sensor network with bursting data generation, we propose a light weight sink centric transport protocol, which maximizes the channel throughput by minimizing the interference of packet recovery process. We implement the sink centric transport protocol in TinyOS and evaluate its performance in the TOSSIM simulator. The comparison shows that our proposed approach outperforms the hop-by-hop recovery approach in terms of event reporting throughput and transmission costs. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2007.
