This paper introduces a weighted consensus control for multi-drone system for power line inspection in a dynamic networked computing environment. The system achieves global load balancing by transferring data with neighbor drones. Algorithms are introduced and their robustness properties against system dynamics are established. Examples and case studies demonstrate the feasibility in power line fault detection applications using multi-drone systems.

This paper proposes the detection of islanding and fault in a PV penetrated power system. A comprehensive mathematical model of photovoltaic (PV) array connected to grid consisting of circuit breaker and three phase fault including maximum power point tracker, IGBT bridge and controller is presented based on MATLAB simulink tool. PV model is evolved by taking basic circuit equation of photovoltaic solar cells including effects of solar irradiation and change in temperature. Islanding is a situation where a small part of grid is detached from principal grid which is done when there is a fault or maintenance is required.

This article addresses the cooperative control problem of multi-agent systems with Lipschitz nonlinearities. In order to achieve consensus, we design a distributed adaptive event-triggered protocol for these participators. The proposed protocol with mixed event-triggered mechanism can be implemented by each agent in a fully distributed fashion and guarantees that the consensus errors and the adaptive gains are uniform ultimate bounded. We also derive explicitly the relationship between the error bound and the parameters of the protocol. Further, the protocol can avoid the Zeno behavior while reducing the operating frequency of the sensor and controller. The problem of leader-follower consensus is also considered.

A few years ago, hitting the silo container from the outside was the only way of knowing whether it had to be refilled with feed or water. However, current advances make it possible to develop more evolved mechanisms that not only allow the farmer to know if it is necessary to fill the silo with feed but give a precise estimate of the quantity of feed or water remaining in the silo and information on other parameters that help control the quality of the feed. To this end, it is necessary to design a device that will be placed on the inside of the silo and will detect if there is feed and how much of it by means of a sensor with ultrasonic technology. The prototype includes several motion engines which perform a complete sweep for the calculation of volume;this is important as each type of feed has a different density. In addition, the development of such a system will make it possible to optimize the delivery of feed to livestock holdings through route planning for the truck, for example, in cases where two nearby farms are short of supply. For this purpose, we have developed a system that incorporates an IoT device with a laser for calculating the volume of feed inside a silo. In addition, this system includes a series of sensors that can monitor temperature and humidity. Thus, the owners obtain more information from which they can draw conclusions about the conservation of the feed and about its general exploitation. Furthermore, it is possible to understand to what extent the cold and humidity affect animals and their consumption of the feed. This research work describes the evaluation of the developed prototype in several independent silos on the Hermi Group's farm (Salamanca) and outlines the obtained results.

Autonomous vehicles may make wrong decisions due to inaccurate detection and recognition. Therefore, an intelligent vehicle can combine its own data with that of other vehicles to enhance perceptive ability, and thus improve detection accuracy and driving safety. However, multi-vehicle cooperative perception requires the integration of real world scenes and the traffic of raw sensor data exchange far exceeds the bandwidth of existing vehicular networks. To the best our knowledge, we are the first to conduct a study on raw-data level cooperative perception for enhancing the detection ability of self-driving systems. In this work, relying on LiDAR 3D point clouds, we fuse the sensor data collected from different positions and angles of connected vehicles. A point cloud based 3D object detection method is proposed to work on a diversity of aligned point clouds. Experimental results on KITTI and our collected dataset show that the proposed system outperforms perception by extending sensing area, improving detection accuracy and promoting augmented results. Most importantly, we demonstrate it is possible to transmit point clouds data for cooperative perception via existing vehicular network technologies.

This study investigated the capacity of a deep neural network to distinguish tea types based on their aromas. The data set of aromas from tea leaves, which contained sensor responses measured with a gas-sensing system using a mass-sensitive chemical sensor comprised of an array of quartz crystal resonators coated with plasma organic polymer films, was used to evaluate the recognition accuracy. To define the input vectors of the deep neural network in aroma recognition experiments, frequency analysis using a continuous wavelet transform, with the Morlet function as the mother wavelet, was used to extract features from the sensor signals of the data set. The deep neural network achieved a recognition accuracy of 100% for the three tea types: oolong, jasmine and pu'erh, and the base gas of dehumidified indoor air. Comparing the recognition accuracy of the deep neural network to that obtained from other pattern recognition methods, such as naive Bayes and random forests, the experimental results demonstrated the effectiveness of applying a deep neural network to this task.

In this article, here is developed a novel TOPAS based heptagonal photonic crystal fiber (H-PCF) for the identification of various chemical substances in the terahertz frequency territory. The full-vector finite element method (FV-FEM) is used for the numerical investigation about the competence of the proposed PCF. Simulation results show the maximum relative sensitivity as well as less connement loss for various chemicals. Numerically processed outcomes apparent that the proposed sensor shows 63.24 %, 61.05 % and 60.03 % detecting reactions for focused analytes benzene, ethanol and water individually at 1 THz frequency. Major purposes is to use H-PCF as the application of chemical sensor in commercial sector to detect harmful chemicals.

This paper investigates the use of a real-time self filter for a robot manipulator in next best view planning tasks. The robot is equipped with a depth sensor in eye-in-hand configuration. The goal of the next best view algorithm is to select at each iteration an optimal view pose for the sensor in order to optimize information gain to perform 3D reconstruction of a region of interest. An OpenGL-based filter was adopted, that is able to determine which pixels of the depth image are due to robot self observations. The filter was adapted to work with KinectFusion volumetric based 3D reconstruction. Experiments have been performed in a real scenario. Results indicate that removal of robot self observations prevents artifacts in the final 3D representation of the environment. Moreover, view poses where the robot would occlude the target regions can be successfully avoided. Finally, it is shown that a convex-hull robot model is preferable to a tight 3D CAD model, and that the filter can be integrated with a surfel-based next best view planner with negligible overhead.

Respiratory rate monitoring is important to detect sudden and abnormal clinical events. Patients with chronic breathing problems will have to be monitored at all times. This paper highlights the use of wearable sensors. Existing devices are in the form of a belt or will have to be temporarily attached to parts of the thorax or the nostrils. The proposed shirt houses the sensors as a part of the cloth. This removes the complexities and increases the comfort level for the user. The T-shirt can be used to detect various respiratory disorders like obstructive sleep apnea, asthma, wheezing, cough and sneeze while standing, running and jumping, sleeping and extreme bending.

the typical way of blood sugar measurement is to collect a drop of blood by pricking the finger tip and analyzing it. This method requires new prick on the tip of finger for every measurement. Even though the continuous blood glucose monitoring is very important for blood glucose level control and management, it can be invasive (with penetrating the skin) and inconvenient especially during daily life. The currently available Glucometers which can be used by the patient at home are invasive and costlier which needs fresh testing strips for each test. Non-invasive (without penetrating the skin) glucose monitoring techniques have got extensive research, leveraging techniques such as infrared spectroscopy. We introduce a non-invasive glucose measuring system that detects the sugar level in the blood with the help of NIR spectroscopy.
