The integration of distributed power generation (DG) presents a multi power supply pattern for the feeder, which has a negative impact on the section positioning using over-current component in the remote control type feeder automation (RCTFA) coordinated by the distribution master station (DMS) and terminal (FTU). In response to this impact, this article propose to use over-current judgement to combine with direction judgement based on power frequency variation (PFV) for fault section localization in small hydro-power (SH) scenarios, using only 1 and 0 to represent fault information, and then upload remote signaling data (RSD) to the DMS, which can accurately locate the faulty section by applying section judgment logic in combination. This method is applicable to various situations where small hydropower is put into operation, as well as when it is out of operation. The small current Earthing system (SCES) with SH connected to the feeder is built on the simulation software. The simulation results and the judgment of the DMS prove that the method proposed in this paper can accurately determine the fault section. © 2023 ieee.

This paper addresses the problem of estimating unknown environment spatial source fields by using the measured information from mobile sensor networks. We propose distributed estimation and control methods for sensor networks by only using local interactions. The proposed algorithm consists of two parts. Firstly, each sensor fuses from its own and its neighbor’s measurement value, then a consensus algorithm is executed by each sensor to process the fused measurement information in a distributed manner to seek the balanced measurements of the unknown source;Secondly, each mobile sensor keeps its estimate of the source by inputting the balanced measurements to a local least square estimator. To improve the performance of the estimation, a gradient descent control law was introduced to the moving sensors. Each sensor moves towards the direction of deducing the uncertainty represented by the variance matrix. Simulations are performed to investigate the effectiveness of the algorithm. © Beijing HIWING Scientific and Technological Information Institute 2024.

Medical imaging technology has rapidly advanced in the last few decades, providing detailed images of the human body. The accurate analysis of these images and the segmentation of anatomical structures can produce significant morphological information, provide additional guidance toward subject stratification after diagnosis or before a clinical trial, and help predict a medical condition. Usually, medical scans are manually segmented by expert operators, such as radiologists and radiographers, which is complex, time-consuming and prone to inter-observer variability. A system that generates automatic, accurate quantitative organ segmentation on a large scale could deliver a clinical impact, supporting current investigations in subjects with medical conditions and aiding early diagnosis and treatment planning. This paper proposes a web-based application that automatically segments multiple abdominal organs and muscle, produces respective 3D reconstructions and extracts valuable biomarkers using a deep learning backend engine. Furthermore, it is possible to upload image data and access the medical image segmentation tool without installation using any device connected to the Internet. The final aim is to deliver a webbased image-processing service that clinical experts, researchers and users can seamlessly access through IoT devices without requiring knowledge of the underpinning technology.

With the increasingly problems of environmental pollution and energy shortage, new energy power generation technology has been developed rapidly. The scale of grid-connected new energy generation in the distribution network is increasing, and its influence on the grid is becoming more and more significant, which also brings challenges to the system scheduling. Based on the historical data, after preprocessing a large number of data, the improved K-means clustering algorithm based on GSA elbow criterion is proposed to extract and mine the features of power data. On this basis, the output characteristics of new energy and regional load characteristics are analyzed. Secondly, the impact of distributed new energy on the peak-valley difference of load and the impact of new energy with different permeability on the system reserve are studied. Finally, the impact on the typical operation characteristics of regional power grid is analyzed. © 2023 ieee.

Using Cisco Packet Tracer as a modelling tool, this research study investigates the manner in which sensor-based networks and the Internet of Everything (IoE) might function together. It describes a thorough technique for creating network topologies, setting up devices, establishing connectivity, monitoring data, putting security measures in place, diagnosing issues, as well as assessing outcomes. When assessing the behavior and difficulties of sensor-based networks and IoE, a controlled realistic environment is intended. This study bridges the theoretical and practical implementation gaps by employing Packet Tracer, providing insightful information about the actual uses of these game-changing technologies. This article proposes a micro magnetic field sensor based on the coupling of magnetostriction-piezoelectric effect. The principle is that under the action of a magnetic field, the magnetostrictive material undergoes deformation, causing stress on the piezoelectric cantilever beam and resulting in its deformation. Due to the piezoelectric effect, the cantilever beam generates an electrical potential, and by measuring the electrical potential at the end of the cantilever beam, the magnetic field can be measured. Theoretical analysis shows that the electrical potential generated by the cantilever beam is linearly related to the magnetic field intensity. Finite element simulations were conducted to analyze the sensor, and it was found that the stress on the piezoelectric cantilever beam and the electrical potential generated within a certain range were strongly linearly correlated with the magnetic field intensity, which is consistent with the theoretical results. The sensor has good linearity and sensitivity, and can play an important role in online monitoring of power facilities, as well as having broad prospects for application in smart grids. © 2023 ieee.

A vital resource in our daily life is water. The quality of the water can be detected by checking the total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in it. TDS represents the amount of organic or inorganic diffused contents in water. The contents can be either in the molecular form or iodized form. It gives the percentage of solids dissolved in a specific volume of water, expressed as ppm. The water can be from a variety of sources, including rivers and industrial waste water. Each water category has a different purity level. The chemicals added for water treatment, chemical fertilizers used in gardens, and plumbing contribute to TDS. Water is a universal solvent that readily attracts contaminants and can quickly absorb and dissolve them. Before using the water, it is mandatory to check the purity level of the water. A smart TDS measurement system is proposed here, which monitors the water quality and displays it. © 2023 ieee.

We consider the problem of distributed detection of a radio source emitting a signal. Geographically distributed sensor nodes obtain energy measurements, compute a local statistic, and transmit them to a fusion center, where a decision regarding to state of the source (on or off) is made. We model the radio source as a stochastic signal and deal with spatially statistically dependent measurements, whose probability density function (PDF) has unknown positive parameters when the radio source is active. Under the framework of the Generalized Likelihood Ratio Test (GLRT) theory, the positive constraint on the unknown multidimensional parameters makes the computation of the GLRT asymptotic performance (when the amount of sensor measurements tends to infinity) more involved. Nevertheless, we analytically characterize its asymptotic performance. Moreover, as the GLRT is not amenable for distributed settings because of the spatial statistically dependence of the measurements, we study a GLRT-like test where the joint PDF of the measurements is substituted by the product of its marginal PDFs, and therefore, the statistical dependence is completely discarded for building this test. Its asymptotic performance is proved to be identical to the original GLRT, showing that the statistically dependence of the measurements has no impact on the detection performance in the asymptotic scenario. Furthermore, the GLRT-like algorithm has a low computational complexity and demands low communication resources, as compared to the GLRT, which make it suitable for Wireless sensor Networks with scarce computation and communication resources. © 2023 ieee.

Currently, the integration of the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and Inertial Navigation System (INS) meets the positioning requirements of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) across a wide range of scenarios. However, these systems are not suitable for localization within GPS-denied environments. This paper proposes a tightly coupled fusion algorithm that integrates Ultra-Wideband (UWB) and Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) data based on Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) measurements,suitable for using in GPS-denied environments. TDOA algorithm reduces communication burden, reduces power consumption and enhances positioning accuracy. Furthermore, the tightly coupled architecture enables the updating of UAV positioning information in harsh environments and enhances positioning accuracy and robustness. The algorithm was tested in a Gazebo-simulated UAV flight, comparing it against traditional and loosely coupled approaches, also using Two-Way Time of Flight (TW-TOF) measurements for internal comparisons. Results demonstrate that the method significantly enhances positioning accuracy and stability, achieving a median error of 0.0319m, a 95th percentile error of 0.0789m, and an average standard deviation of 0.0207m. This study validates the improvements in UWB positioning accuracy and robustness, promoting its application in real-world scenarios.
