Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) encounter a variety of challenges as a result of their constrained resource and power restrictions for different network topologies. Due to the restricted resource limits and wireless transmission system characteristics, secure communication can be difficult. An extensive amount of study has been done to effectively optimize or minimize Direction of Arrival (DOA). The reduction of communication overhead can be improved through perfect node localization in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). In this survey, minimization of energy in sensor nodes problem has been addressed along with various optimization Meta heuristic algorithms. In this article, we examine the principal coverage optimization procedures and outline current unresolved questions in the field of energy-efficient covering. © 2022 ieee.

With the increasing demands of data computation and storage for cloud-based services, the energy demand of data centers (DCs) is rising rapidly and becoming a noticeable challenge for current power networks. The smart grid (SG) is deemed as the future power system paradigm enabling more affordable and sustainable energy supply, which can effectively relieve the power load pressure of DCs. Moreover, with growing concerns regarding harmful emissions due to combustion of fossil fuels, the exploitation of renewable energy sources (RES) has attracted extensive attention, benefiting both SGs and DCs at large. However, the geo-distributed property of DCs and SGs, as well as the uncertain nature of RES production pose severe challenges to the optimal management of computation and energy resources in such coupling system. Focusing on these issues, a joint energy and computation workload management framework is proposed for enabling a sustainable DC paradigm with distributed RES. Specifically, to model the interactions between data center operator (DCO) and SGs, a Stackelberg game is formulated. The SG offers the DCO an electricity selling price to maximize the benefit. The DCO allocates the computation workload to geo-distributed DCs, aiming to minimize the costs of energy consumption and carbon emissions. We obtain the equilibrium state of the game and prove its uniqueness and optimality. Simulation experiments are conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme, showing that it can achieve considerable cost savings over counterparts. The proposed approach and obtained results provide useful insights for helping the DCO developing rational management strategies. © 2021 ieee.

A network architecture known as "software-defined networking"(SDN) enables the design and creation of hardware elements remotely. Due to their permanent connections, you can modify on the go. Even if SDN remains fantastic approach, Internet-threatening DDoS occurrences may exploit it. DDoS occurrences may be stopped with the use of machine learning techniques. When numerous systems work together to assault a server, it is called a DDoS attack. A control layer software manages the devices of the infrastructure layer and enables SDN by linking the application layer to the infrastructure layer. [1] The methods for identifying malicious traffic that we discuss in this work include decision trees, Cat Boost, and Extra trees. The outcomes of our tests demonstrate that Decision Tree, Cat Boost, and Extra Tree are capable of determining if the attack is safe or not. © 2023 ieee.

Home energy management system (HEMS) autonomously schedules the energy usage of home electricity consuming devices to reduce the electricity cost based on real-time electricity price. However, it is very challenging to design an optimal energy management strategy under the uncertainty of the resident's behavior, outdoor temperature and renewable generation. To solve this problem, a real-time demand response (DR) strategy based on deep reinforcement learning (DRL) is proposed. Firstly, the real-time DR management problem is modeled as a Markov game, and then a home energy management algorithm is proposed based on Multi-Agent Twin Delayed Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (MATD3). It is worth mentioning that the proposed algorithm builds the thermal dynamics model and takes energy storage system (ESS) into account, which improves the utilization of renewable power generation effectively. The simulation result based on real-world data demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. © 2021 ieee.

In modern power systems, distributed energy resources (DER) can ensure grid stability, meet load demand, and better plan and manage grid operations, making its role increasingly significant. Grid operators usually need to plan long-term and short-term grid operations, including load forecasting, power supply, and power distribution. Therefore, existing data management methods often model distributed generation as part of the load to simulate how distributed generation matches the actual load level. The equivalent distributed generators of the 10kV and 35kV outgoing lines of the transmission grid in the given data are currently modeled as loads. Some DERs exhibit load-like characteristics at certain times of the day, while displaying distributed generation characteristics at other times. This makes it challenging to differentiate between distributed generators and loads during scheduling management or equipment management. Therefore, this paper proposes an identification method for distributed generation and load based on graph database technology. The method uses the given real transmission network model data of a province to build a graph model, and performs naming rule verification, topology inspection, plant station power balance verification, and other identification steps in order to identify distributed generation from the existing load data. © 2023 ieee.

This article elaborates upon an aeronautical tactical network architecture grounded in distributed task requirements. In response to the communication demands inherent in future aerial combat paradigms, we have conceived a data-link network framework tailored to meet the imperatives of mission-driven scenarios. Owing to the intricate demands of the operational environment, conventional airborne data link systems encounter challenges when endeavoring to achieve cross-platform interoperability. The introduction of the Software-Defined Networking (SDN) architecture, however, furnishes a solution. Through centralized control and network management, it empowers constituents to promptly respond, engage in efficient decision-making, and facilitate collaborative combat operations. Furthermore, this article delves comprehensively into topics including task allocation and scheduling, as well as the southbound protocol overhead, offering viable resolutions. In contrast to traditional network optimization, the design philosophy of Software-Defined Networking (SDN) has been innovatively harnessed to shape a network architecture founded upon the principles of distributed task requirements. By amalgamating the tenets of SDN and task-driven attributes, this approach intertwines mission planning with network management, fulfilling the communication requisites of distributed task administration, ultimately culminating in a communication architecture tailored for aeronautical networks. © 2023 ieee.

In current Datacenter Networks (DCNs), Equal-Cost Multipath (ECMP) is a default load balancing scheme. However, using ECMP may result in rapid growth of Flow Completion Time (FCT) due to its well-known drawbacks. In order to solve the problem of ECMP, load balancing schemes with per-packet granularity (such as RPS) and per-flowlet granularity (such as LetFlow) are proposed. These two different granularities have their own features, but there's no existing load balancing considering both their advantages. In this paper, we mix per-flowlet and per-packet in scheduling decisions and introduce the potential performance bottleneck in mixed granularities load balancing. Based on this idea, we propose a hybrid scheme for load balancing, referred to as BOBBLE. The key idea of BOBBLE is to distinguish elephant and mouse flows and schedule them with different granularity. We evaluate BOBBLE in simulations with NS-3. Experiment shows that BOBBLE slightly sacrifices elephant flows FCT but it is worthy because our results demonstrate that BOBBLE is a good trade-off which outperforms RPS and LetFlow in mouse flows FCT in both symmetric and asymmetric topology. © 2021 ieee.

This study focuses on issues with managing the load frequency in coupled two-area power grids. Area 1 assumes thermal and electric vehicles, whereas Area 2 considers geothermal power plants and distributed generation (DG) systems. The DG uses energy from green sources as well. For a two-area power system, the optimal control variables of the proportional-integral-derivative (PID) and tilt integral derivative (TID) controllers are determined using the particle swarm optimization and firefly method. As a measure of deficiency, the cost function integral square error (ISE) is selected. PID and TID controllers are used to analyze the effect of the reheat turbine. The following stage involves comparing the random load dynamics to demonstrate the superior performance of the TID controller. The conclusions of the simulations have demonstrated that, in terms of overshoot, undershoot, and steeling time, the FA-based TID controller performs more efficiently than the one using PID. © 2023 ieee.

This paper presents a study of the effect of the background material on the performance of a proposed rectangular porous-core photon crystal fiber (R-PCF) sensor. The R-PCF sensor under investigation comprises 28 identical rectangles in the core and 6 rectangles within the cladding area. The study is introduced for frequencies between 0.5 and 1.5 THz, using various background materials such as fused silica, PMMA, polycarbonate, BK7 glass, FS2 glass, and ZEONEX. The performance of this R-PCF can be improved by employing various background materials. The R-PCF sensor is analyzed using the COMSOL simulator, and the most efficient background material is determined by analyzing both the efficiency and the features of light propagation. The results show that Fused silica has the lowest dispersion value of 0.2347 and FS2 glass achieves the highest power fraction (PF %) of 79.92% at 1.3 THz. The other optical metrics, such as birefringence and numerical aperture (NA), are also superior for FS2 glass. Fused silica and polycarbonate can be chosen as the best background materials because of the highest PF %, lower CL, lower EML values, and intermediate values for the other optical metrics. This proposed R-PCF topology sensor can be utilized for chemical, gas, and biomedical applications. © 2023 ieee.

Wireless sensor networks (WSN) are a continuously developing area of research with numerous applications. Despite their benefits, these networks present several challenges, including security problems. The trust factor is an effective strategy for securing the network against internal attacks and misbehaviour nodes. While several intrusion detection systems (IDSs) have been proposed, most of them consider either trust technique or anomaly detection technique. In this research, we suggested a hybrid intrusion detection system that takes anomaly detection techniques and trust factors into account. First, we proposed several criteria to model nodes' behaviours using multiple trust features. Then, we used the Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm to classify their behaviour in the network. Our simulation results demonstrate that our approach can effectively detect malicious nodes in the network. © 2024 ieee.
