Autonomous systems are operating without human intervention. This requires them to have a good model of themselves and their environment to ensure they operate safely towards their goals. Within a confined or static environment, a simple model can be enough to achieve this requirement. However, if we intend to have autonomous systems to operate intelligently within as well as together with their environment, a model alone will not suffice. Limitations and assumptions of the models and the initial prototypes that informed the modelling process, as well as environments never encountered while in prototyping stage, eventually render the model of a deployed system inaccurate. We can overcome this issue by updating the model at runtime. This is considered a digital shadow as it will reflect the current state of the environment at runtime. When this digital model is not only updated at runtime and reflects the current state but also is able to provide feedback to the real system at runtime, we consider this a Digital Twin (DT). Over the past years, DTs have become not only an essential tool in the development of cyber-physical systems but also an integral part of intelligent autonomous systems.

WSNs have improved human lives in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, agribusiness, climate, transportation, and the military. WSNs are widely employed in surveillance, tracing, and regulating purposes, but their resource limitations provide additional difficulties. They are: centralized administration, heterogeneous devices, reactive routing, mobile nodes, data protection, and computing power limitations. Due to the size and scope of WSN, issues with routing algorithms, stability, connectivity, and authentication must be addressed. This study emphasizes the uses of WSNs, security needs, various attacks and responses, and current problems and difficulties. Additionally, a new set of difficulties are used to describe how virtualized, data storage, and Software Defined Networking (SDN) are integrated into WSNs. We feel that for students and academics concerned in WSN and associated technology, this article offers a comprehensive understanding and a useful blueprint. © 2023 ieee.

Federated learning (FL) framework facilitates more and more applications of deep learning algorithms on the existing network architectures, where the model parameters are aggregated in a centralized manner. However, some of FL participants are often inaccessible, such as in a power shortage or device dormant state. That will force us to explore the probability that the parameter aggregation is operated in an ad hoc manner, which is based on consensus computing. In this paper, we first propose a novel FL paradigm, which supports an ad hoc operation mode for FL participants. Second, a discrete-time dynamic equation and its control law are formulated to satisfy the demands from FL framework, with a quantized caching scheme designed to mask the uncertainties from asynchronous updates and measurement noises. Then, the consensus conditions and the convergence of the consensus protocol are deduced analytically, and a strategy of quantized caching to optimize the convergence speed is provided. Last, the theoretical results are validated by numerical simulations. © 2021 ieee.

WSN includes deployed sensors. These small sensor nodes have energy limits since their batteries can't be replaced. Collect, transmit, and transfer data to the base station. Data transmission depletes WSN energy. Clustering is an efficient WSN data transport technique. Whale Optimization (WSOA) combines a seagull method with a global issue to meet global optimization concerns. The suggested technique helps choose based on residual node energy and nearby nodes, energy-aware cluster heads energy into consideration. Lifetime, energy economy, throughput, and stability of the recommended algorithm are tested. The hybrid metaheuristic's performance is compared to LEACH. The suggested approach outperforms others in residual energy, network longevity, and stability period. © 2022 ieee.

In recent years, the volumes of information processed and transmitted over the network are rapidly increasing, while the demand for speed and quality of transmitted data is also increasing. As a result, there is a need to use edge computing, which allows reducing network response time and more efficiently using bandwidth, as well as significantly improving the performance of the data transmission system. Article describes the application of edge computing in the form of transferring processes to an edge computing cluster, and presents the results of research on existing migration processes, full transfer time and downtime, identifying the optimal migration process for further implementation of the service migration automation algorithm. The following empirical research methods were used in the work: comparative evaluation method and experiment. The work considers the transfer of computational processes to an edge computing cluster;a comparative analysis of methods for automated service migration is carried out;an optimal migration strategy is identified;an algorithm for automating service migration is developed. Solutions related to automation of migration are excellent for use in the field of Internet of Things. They contribute to improving application performance and reducing response time. Automatic service migration allows increasing process efficiency and reducing system maintenance costs."

Storage capacity is not a concern. sensor networks and IoT have transformed storage the way data is stored in multiple ventures. However, this increase in connected devices has also led to various security and privacy questions. This abstract aims to provide an insightful summary of some existing solutions to these pain points. They provided effective messages on device networks vulnerable to intrusion and were able to broadcast full security into IoT with sensor vulnerabilities. It may allow attackers to steal data, manipulate systems, or access them using fake credentials. Intrusion detection systems were created to solve the problems with many threats, such as secure protocols and authentication mechanisms. Another important aspect is privacy since these devices collect a large amount of data that can be used to infer potentially sensitive personal information. Some solutions to protect privacy in IoT and sensor networks have been suggested, such as encryption methods, data anonymization algorithms, or access control mechanisms. In addition, scalability, energy-efficient design, and cost are key challenges in devising such security and privacy solutions. To that end, research is being conducted to enhance existing solutions and develop new methods and technologies for tackling these challenges. To sum up, IoT and sensor networks are inherently rewarding technologies whose benefits far outweigh their drawbacks, but justifiably, many threats must be cleared to gain those attributes at the expense of reasonable security and privacy potentials. The current solutions are baseline, but they need continuous upgradation to ensure the safety and privacy of users in such a fast-moving technology world. © 2025 ieee.

Aiming to address the data security issues in data sharing, current approaches such as RBAC, ABAC, and blockchain-based data sharing platforms suffer from problems like role redundancy, role abuse, complex authorization, and data user privacy leakage. In response, a role-based trusted transfer access control model based on trust and attributes is proposed. This model is built upon Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) while integrating Role-Based Access Control (RBAC). Users obtain roles based on their attributes and trust levels, and roles determine access permissions based on trust level and defined policies, and then determine the transferability of roles, at the same time, the transfer of roles is limited by trust levels. Encryption techniques and off-chain storage systems are utilized to protect data privacy and integrity, thereby alleviating the storage pressure on the blockchain. Finally, the performance and effectiveness of the proposed model were evaluated through experimental analysis, demonstrating its capability to achieve trustworthy role transfer and enhance the security and privacy of on-chain sharing schemes. © 2023 ieee.

In 6G network, the LEO satellite communication is popular because of the lower development costs and lower transmission delay. However, due to the instability, openness and exposure of links between satellites, LEO satellite is vulnerable to internal attacks during data routing. Considering that trust management has a better performance in solving the internal attacks between satellite communications, this paper proposed a new distributed trust evaluation mechanism (DTEM) of LEO satellites based on D-S evidence theory. In the proposed trust evaluation mechanism, it evaluates the trust degree of satellite nodes by direct trust, indirect trust and aggregate trust. Then it detects the malicious satellite nodes for 6G networks and takes corresponding isolation measures. The simulations verifies that the proposed trust evaluation mechanism has superior performance in packet delivery rate and packet loss rate for data routing. © 2021 ieee.

This study details the design and development of a Continuous Collision Monitoring System (CCMS) by utilizing a combination of sensors and IoT technologies. The proposed framework is primarily aimed at enhancing safety measures in various environments such as vehicles, industrial machinery, and smart infrastructure. The proposed CCMS integrates multiple sensors including piezoelectric sensors, GPS modules, ultrasonic sensors, and an Arduino microcontroller for real-time collision detection and monitoring. The piezoelectric sensor is utilized for detecting impact or collision events. Additionally, GPS modules are employed to provide location tracking and data logging capabilities. The use of ultrasonic sensors is for proximity sensing and obstacle detection. The Arduino microcontroller serves as the central processing unit, managing data acquisition, analysis, and communication tasks. The integration of IoT technology, specifically the NodeMCU ESP8266, enables wireless connectivity and remote monitoring functionalities. Real-time collision alerts and location information can be transmitted to a central server or mobile application for immediate action or analysis. A buzzer is incorporated to provide audible alerts in case of collision events, enhancing situational awareness for nearby individuals. Furthermore, a relay and motor are integrated into the system to trigger appropriate actions in response to collision events, such as activating emergency brakes or shutting down machinery to prevent further damage or injury. The framework is powered by a suitable power supply, ensuring continuous operation. © 2024 ieee.
