In recent years, the use of advanced robotic systems has increased significantly, making machinery quite effective and productive. A robot is an advanced machine that can perform a task autonomously or under supervision. This paper analyzes various sensors that can be used for collision avoidance and introduces a robot with built-in intelligence that can direct itself and avoid obstacles. This robot is constructed using an Arduino Microcontroller, a Motor shield, a sensor, and a DC (Direct Current) Motor. To carry out the required operation, the ATmega328 microcontroller is used. The Arduino UNO is used as the controller for the robot. It receives commands from a computer that is connected via a USB cable. The commands are sent in a text format via serial communication. The Arduino UNO then interpret these commands and send signals to the other components of the robot to execute them accordingly. The sensor and the DC motor are used to scan for obstacles. The servo motor is used to change the direction of the robot when it detects an obstacle. In conclusion, the findings of this paper will provide us with a completely automated robot, that can navigate effectively in unfamiliar environments without colliding. © 2022 ieee.

The paper presents a quantum method to optimize the placement of sensors on the surface of a vehicle. The problem, as posted in the BMW Quantum computing Challenge 2021, is to arrive at the optimal positions and configurations (type and orientation) of the sensors on the vehicle surface that maximizes coverage of the Region of Interest (RoI), while minimizing the total cost of the selected sensors. The dataset contains approximately 100,000 points in the RoI, with defined measures of criticality (ranging between 0 to 1), distributed over a volume of approximately 40,000 cubic metres around the vehicle. The types of sensors, their coverage parameters and costs are inputs to the problem. The optimization problem is decomposed and solved individually for each side of the vehicle, and the results for the entire vehicle are collated and presented in the paper. The approach considers a quadratic approximation to the maximum set-coverage formulation with the advantage of obtaining the optimal number of sensors as an output from the model itself. The resultant quadratic program is solved using quantum methods, as well as a standard, state-of-the-art Integer Quadratic Program (IQP) solver, respectively. The quadratic approximation consumes qubits that are linear in the number of total configurations and significantly reduces the number of decision variables required in an Ising formulation of the problem. The quantum and classical methods are found to perform on par with each other. A detailed comparison of the results is presented in the paper. Given the combinatorial nature of the optimization problem, the classical approach may become intractable while solving the problem in an integrated manner (instead of solving individually for each side). Under such scenarios, there is a possibility to expect benefits by adopting the proposed strategies with the availability of large-sized quantum computers in the near future.

The integration of extensive new energy has changed the original network structure and reduce the stability of the power grid, and especially puts forward higher requirement for the frequency response ability of the power grid. Therefore, based on model predictive control (MPC), this paper proposes a grid load frequency control (LFC) method with the participation of distributed battery energy storage system (BESS). Firstly, the principle of BESS participation in the secondary frequency regulation is analyzed, and on this basis, the dynamic frequency response model of the power grid with the participation of BESS is established. Finally, based on the different frequency regulation characteristics of traditional generator and BESS, the distributed coordinated optimal control of multiple frequency control sources is realized by MPC. The simulation results show that the proposed model prediction controller can quickly eliminate the frequency deviation and realize the coordinated operation of distributed BESSs and traditional generator in the grid frequency regulation. © 2022 ieee.

Over the last few years, internet became so popular which lead to the increase in computer processing capacity, data storage and communication with one another. computing has evolved from one technology to another in its field and formed a robust framework over the years. In this paper a survey on different computing paradigms like evergreen computing is cloud computing, to deal with basic scheduling is grid computing, for multi task handing is parallel computing, to handle smart phone data's that is mobile computing, cluster computing, and distributed computing is carried out. These technologies improved the way computing functions and made it easier to the computer world. The applications and research issues of the most of the computing paradigms are discussed in this article. The recent research issues in computing platform are scheduling and security. The scheduling is dealing with data processing from one computing platform to other computing device. Security is one of the important research issues.

Wearable microwave resonating sensors have attracted the research community in wireless communication and biomedical systems. The main objective of this paper is to assess the chronic wound such asjoint pain using such type of microwave sensor. The sensor designed to sense the abnormalities in synovial fluid, which is a main component present inside bone's joint and avoids friction during bone's movement and is responsible for the pain when it exhibits abnormal properties. The microwave sensor can be worn like a bandage. In this paper, FR-4 substrate is used for effective design of the resonator with high sensitivity and selectivity. For analyzing the fluid, a dual octagonal split ring resonator has been designed for the frequency of 4.611GHz. Various use cases of resonator have been simulated and the corresponding results are obtained and interpreted. © 2022 ieee.

More and more renewable energy sources are being integrated into the electricity grid as a result of the quick advancement in distributed generation technology and the in-fluence of government support policies. Integration with existing electrical loads and power networks is a major barrier to the market adoption of these technologies. Switching devices during the integration are increasingly being used, which inevitably leads to a decline in power quality. At the same time, these devices are also more likely to break down as a result of bad power quality. Hence, an enhanced energy storage system with the duo of super magnetic and battery compensator is proposed to assure consistent power delivery and safeguard critical loads from interrupted power delivery. The proposed compensator is used for grid-connected PV wind farm units and tested for different scenarios of power quality fluctuations that are modelled in MATLAB/SIMULINK. © 2022 ieee.

Recent advancements in wireless communication, distributed computing, and sensing technologies, as well as in cybersecurity are enabling new digital services and solutions for vehicles and other road users. Digital road safety services can help to improve road safety and optimize road maintenance, and to enable automated vehicles in road traffic, especially, in challenging road and weather conditions. This paper presents the progress towards experimentation and piloting of four road safety -focused use cases and their underlying technical enablers. The paper also introduces the approach used for experimentation and piloting, using real 5G networks, vehicles, and sensor systems, as well as presents selected results. The work and results presented in this paper attest the feasibility and benefits of the developed services and technological solutions in improving road safety.

The LEACH protocol is a random cluster head (CH) selection method that is an imposing way to give the cluster head opportunity among the nodes. In such randomization number of CHs vary in a wide range. In the worst case, the LEACH protocol gives zero CHs. The different LEACH-based protocols are developed, such as E-LEACH and RCH-LEACH, where unexpended energy of nodes is considered in CHs selection for efficient energy utilization and coverage enhancement. In these algorithms, the CHs selection methods improve the performance parameters, mainly the coverage, network lifetime, FND, HND, and LND, but the poor lower bound on CHs adversely affects the performance parameters of the network. This article proposed a LEACH-based improved algorithm for CH selection and used the unexpended node energy as an essential parameter for stabilizing the cluster heads. The proposed algorithm improves the lower bound on CHs and gives a stable 5% cluster head count. The simulation result shows that the stable cluster head count improves the FND, LND, and alive node performance of the wireless sensor network compared to the LEACH, E-LEACH, and RCH-LEACH algorithms. © 2022 ieee.

Speech recognition, natural language processing, and image processing are just a few of the many applications that machine learning (ML) has been employed in. The use of ML in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) has recently captured the attention of many researchers, broadening the field of study. Load balance and resource utilization are the problem with WSNs. Numerous routing algorithms can resolve these problems by using less energy and extending the network lifetime in WSNs through optimum routing techniques. Additionally, there are frequently issues like rigidity, taking into account various factors, and relying on models. Machine learning has demonstrated its effectiveness in creating effective procedures to deal with difficult issues in a variety of network features. In a wireless sensor network, routing is the process of determining the best path for data transmission between various sensor nodes in accordance with the situation. A lot of machine learning has been applied to creating energy-efficient routing methods. The key contribution of this study is to give a concise overview of clustering in wireless sensor networks based on three major categories, including classical, optimization, and machine learning techniques. © 2022 ieee.
