For control of seismic responses of structures, in contemporary research, either state feedback (i. e., displacement and velocity at each degree of freedom) or acceleration feedback is used. Even for full state feedback, the states of the system are generally estimated from homogeneous acceleration data as accelerometers do not require a local reference like displacement and velocity sensors. Like accelerometers, strain sensors (such as foil-type strain gauges) also do not require local references. This study considers the fusion of acceleration and strain data for H-2 based seismic control of structural systems. A four-story lumped mass shear building model subjected to a seismic input is used to elucidate the efficacy of the proposed control scheme. It has been found that the proposed acceleration-strain feedback algorithm is highly effective for better control of seismic responses of structures.

LoRa (Long Range) networks tend to be a prevailing technology for smart buildings applications. Its Chirp Spread Spectrum (CSS) modulation technique allows for higher receiver sensitivity. However, its unstable behaviour in terms of electromagnetic propagation motivated this paper to assess the influence of these parameters under temperature and humidity variations on the reliability of LoRa connectivity. The current work suggests a method that takes into consideration the indoor fluctuation of temperature and humidity. The current method is based on the Multi-Wall propagation Model (MW M) aiming at path loss calculation. Simulation results were verified with real-life measurements carried out in a Neapolis University Pafos (NU P) building. The simulation results are in good agreement with the measured data. Nevertheless, the study revealed that the environmental factors of temperature and humidity have a smooth effect on indoor path loss calculation.

Blockchain and SDN are combined in the "DistB-SD Cloud" architecture to secure and execute cloud-integrated IoT data. Cloud computing Management and Services, distributed Secure Blockchain Methodology, SDN Environment, and Data Extraction comprise the architecture. SDN-enabled devices safely gather and process sensor data in the data plane, while OpenFlow and OpenStack handle network component communication in the control plane. The application layer improves network administration with dynamic configuration and data analytics. distributed nodes and hash chains ensure system integrity in blockchain-based access control and ledger maintenance. Blockchain and SDN improve security, privacy, and scalability by resisting attacks. The architecture outperforms OpenFlow-based SDN models in throughput and bandwidth, proving its stability under different network conditions. The study shows that the suggested "DistB-SD Cloud" achieves increased throughput (22.1 KB/s) and bandwidth (1.9 GB/s) when nodes and packet arrival rates increase, making it a feasible solution for safe and scalable cloud computing in IoT-based systems.
