Numerous technologies uses Interdigital electrode [IDE] capacitors as a key component for sensing mechanism. The present paper aims at studying significance of design parameters of IDE and variation in sensitivity with the variation of these parameters. Sensitivity of the capacitive sensor is evaluated using COMSOL, Q3D Multiphysics simulations. Reliable and simple IDE structure and fabrication process is proposed. Simulations show that width of sensing film is higher than 1/2 of the wavelength of interdigital electrode structure. Sensitivity increases with width of film and its depth is enough which fills the gap between electrodes. IDE capacitive sensors are also known as planar capacitive sensors.

Wireless sensor Network (WSN) is increasingly utilized for monitoring and surveillance in various domains, including environmental monitoring, industrial automation, and healthcare. However, the sheer volume of data generated by WSN poses challenges for anomaly detection, especially in resource-constrained environments. This paper proposes a novel approach that combines federated learning and cloud integration to address the challenges of anomaly detection in WSN. Leveraging federated learning allows for collaborative model training across distributed sensor nodes while preserving data privacy. Cloud integration provides scalable computational resources for model aggregation and storage, enabling efficient anomaly detection. The implementation utilizes Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) models, well-suited for capturing temporal dependencies in sensor data. Raspberry Pi-based WSN nodes are employed for their low-power consumption and flexibility, enabling deployment in diverse environments. Communication between sensor nodes and the cloud is facilitated through the Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) protocol, ensuring efficient data transmission. Cloud integration is realized using Microsoft azure, offering robust cloud infrastructure for model aggregation and management. TensorFlow Federated (TFF) framework is utilized for federated learning, enabling collaborative model training across distributed nodes. Experimental evaluation demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed approach, achieving significant improvements in anomaly detection accuracy and efficiency. Specifically, our approach achieves up to a 20% increase in detection accuracy compared to centralized approaches. Furthermore, integrating federated learning and cloud infrastructure results in a 25% reduction in processing time, enabling real-time anomaly detection capabilities.

Flexible sensors are one of the important components for future human-computer interaction, human motion monitoring, electronic skin and soft robotics. Capacitive pressure sensors have the characteristics of simple structure and high drift stability, but the detection range of the sensor is limited or the sensitivity quickly reaches saturation under high pressure. In order to improve the detection range of the sensor and the loss of sensitivity under high pressure, we use dust-free paper as the electrode of the sensor, and the dielectric layer adopts a combination of two porous materials with different elastic moduli (loofah-like polyurethane sponge and expandable Polyethylene), and a hybrid response mechanism was introduced to prepare a capacitive flexible pressure sensor. The sensor not only has good sensitivity but also has a wide detection range (3000kPa). In addition, the sensor is simple and convenient to manufacture, and is expected to be widely used in human motion monitoring, soft robots, etc. © 2022 ieee.

Recognition of suspicious or violent activity in video surveillance has become increasingly important in terms of public safety and security. This synthesis examined state-of-the-art methodologies for detecting anomalous human behaviors-such as machine learning, deep learning, and hybrid approaches. By analyzing key contributions across recent studies, we identify advancements in feature extraction, model architectures such as CNNs, LSTMs, and Conv3D, and their applications to datasets like UCF101 and custom video repositories. The comparative analysis shows promising aspects in terms of performance and reliability, with some techniques such as Time-distributed CNN getting accuracy improvements of over 90%. The issues of practical applications in a real-world scenario, problems with dealing with advanced datasets, and future research directions such as real-time implementation and ethical considerations were discussed. The present study provides an inclusive overview of the current trends in intelligent surveillance systems and the roadmap for innovations in the near future. © 2025 ieee.

This paper proposes a technical scheme for a new type of AC and DC energy storage system. The solution supports diversified development and provides flexible and diverse distributed energy orderly access services. An improved on-grid/off-grid droop single-mode switching control strategy is proposed based on the grid-connected distributed energy. The switching process is controlled by an improved nonlinear droop curve. This paper realizes the flexible access of distributed energy and electric vehicles based on the new physical structure of AC and DC distribution network of energy storage modules. The system can meet the needs of AC and DC users such as data centers and provide stable, high-quality and highly reliable energy supply. A smooth and seamless switch between on/off grid is achieved. The experimental simulation results verify the feasibility of the proposed strategy.

Internet of Things is the biggest and most accessible network where any smart device can be connected, and security is a big concern these days. WSN is the prominent subpart of IoT. The routing protocol for low power and lossy networks (RPL) is the safest alternative for WSN and it is mostly used at the network layer. DOS attacks are the most serious attacks that have arisen in all levels of the IoT. The under frequency load shedding (UFLS) is considered to be the ultimate action (automated) to reinforce the frequency stability of the power system following extreme disturbances resulting in a remarkable frequency drop in the interconnected system. This article proposes a probabilistic multi-stage UFLS scheme that considers uncertainties such as generation deficiency, system inertia, and load damping. Monte Carlo Simulation is used to model the uncertainties of the power system parameters. The rate-of-change-of-frequency relays are activated to ensure the anti-islanding protection of distributed generators. The optimization problem is solved using particle swarm optimization, accounting for several system constraints. In this paper, four different UFLS strategies are studied based on various frequency decline criteria. Finally, the proposed UFLS framework is assessed on the ieee-39 bus system.

Optimum allocation and sizing of distributed generation (DG) play a vital role in solving many power distribution system problems such as power loss, voltage deviation, pollution emission, costs, etc. This paper proposes a multi-objective optimization problem to find the optimal positioning and sizing of DG types in distribution systems. The multi-objective function includes the minimization of total apparent power losses, voltage deviation index, the installation cost of DG, and pollution emission index. An intricate optimization problem involving multiple objectives has been created using a Backward/Forward Sweep load flow algorithm. To solve this problem, an adaptive weighted aggregation approach using the particle swarm optimization (PSO) technique was employed. The effectiveness of the suggested method was assessed by applying it to an ieee 33 bus radial distribution network, and the obtained results were thoroughly analyzed.

With a large number of distributed Generation (DG) connected to the distribution network, the distribution network can be reconstructed and isolated island partition for self-healing. In this paper, the two-layer configuration DG operation-planning joint optimization model for improving self-healing ability of distribution network is established to achieve economy and self-healing ability of the system. ieee 33-node system is used to verify the proposed model. The results show that the two-layer model can effectively coordinate the economy and self-healing ability of distribution network through interactive decision-making of DG allocation scheme.
