Condition monitoring is a process of assessing the health status of a system, process, or machine. Monitoring and identifying any potential fault can be conducted by leveraging measurements from the installed sensors that provide information on the state of the system. In this respect, machine learning models are useful for processing and analyzing the sensor data for fault detection. However, the imbalanced nature of these sensory data can cause misleading high accuracy scores. In this study, we employ an over-sampling method to tackle the imbalanced class problem. Specifically, both Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE) and Gaussian SMOTE are used to generate minority class samples. The balanced data set is used by the Fuzzy ARTMAP (FAM) model for fault classification. The effectiveness of the developed method is evaluated using a real-world circulating water system in a power generation plant. The results indicate that both SMOTE variants can improve the performance of FAM in detecting faults corresponding to operating conditions of the circulating water system for efficient power generation.

Industrial robot automatic production line has become the mainstream and development direction of automation equipment. This paper describes the modern communication method of PROFINETI0 industrial Ethernet. At the same time, this paper designs a monitoring system of automobile manufacturing robot based on Zigbee wireless network communication technology. The system is designed to solve the problem that the monitoring process is unstable and the monitoring result is inaccurate due to the influence of unstable network and incomplete information transmission when the monitoring system of automobile manufacturing robot collects environmental information. The experimental results show that the delay vibration frequency of the robot monitoring system based on Zigbee wireless network communication technology is low. It shows that the robot monitoring system based on Zigbee wireless network communication technology has higher network communication stability. The system can better ensure the accuracy of monitoring results.

The zero-memory set partitioned embedded block (ZM-SPECK) algorithm is a memory efficient block-based image coder used to encode the wavelet transformed images. It is a listless form of the SPECK algorithm and has no provision for saving the significance information for various coefficients/sets. Since it performs significance testing of sets recursively at each bit-plane, therefore it is computationally complex. Due to this limitation, it is difficult to implement it on low resource sensor/IoT nodes. In this paper, its low complexity version named Modified Zero Memory Set Partitioned Embedded Block (MZM-SPECK) is proposed which reduces the recursive significance test of sets. The simulation results indicate that the proposed algorithm surpasses other wavelet-based coders with regard to memory and computational complexity while maintaining the excellent coding efficiency.

The hardware computing landscape is changing. What used to be distributed systems can now be found on a chip with highly configurable, diverse, specialized and general purpose units. Such systems-on-a-Chip (SoC) are used to control today’s cyber-physical systems, being the building blocks of critical infrastructures. They are deployed in harsh environments and are connected to the cyberspace, which makes them exposed to both accidental faults and targeted cyberattacks. This is in addition to the changing fault landscape that continued technology scaling, emerging devices and novel application scenarios will bring. In this paper, we discuss how the very features—distributed, parallelized, reconfigurable, heterogeneous—that cause many of the imminent and emerging security and resilience challenges, also open avenues for their cure though SoC replication, diversity, rejuvenation, adaptation, and hybridization. We show how to leverage these techniques at different levels across the entire SoC hardware/software stack, calling for more research on the topic.

The analysis of dielectric properties in Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) has become an important research branch since the outbreak of the epidemic in 2019. In order to detect the dielectric properties of microfluidics like virus with higher sensitivity, a radio frequency sensor model is proposed in this paper. First, based on the excellent characteristics of the microstrip meander-line such as more concentrated electric field distribution, the microstrip meander-line is introduced into the design of traditional cancellation sensor, which is called the meander sensor. Then, the relationship between transmission coefficients of the system and dielectric properties of microfluidics is given in this paper. The simulation results verify the ultra-sensitivity of the meander sensor. Even though the relative permittivity of microfluidics is changed in the order of magnitude 10-2, the measurement results of the meander sensor also change significantly. However, the straight sensor can only measure changes of relative permittivity in the order of magnitude 10-1. What's more, there is a more concentrated measurement range for the meander sensor. This will be more practical for measuring weak changes of dielectric properties caused by the microfluidics itself and its interactions. © 2021 ieee.

Due to the limited energy, the growth in network size and sensory data causes a slew of severe issues for wireless sensor networks. Data prediction methods are useful for reducing network traffic and increasing network lifespan, particularly when data correlation across sensory data is explored. In the event that these sensor nodes fail, data prediction may be utilised to retrieve aberrant or lost data. Current wireless sensor network prediction techniques do not fully use the spatial-temporal relationship between remote sensor hubs, resulting in greater prediction error. In a wireless sensor network, this article offers a new approach for multi step sensory data prediction. To begin, we present ANN (artificial neural networks) based on 1-D CNN that use pre-processed sensory input to extract abstract characteristics of various qualities. Then, using these abstract characteristics, one-step prediction is obtained. Finally, by repeatedly utilising chronicled information and the forecast outcomes of the preceding phase, the multi-step expectation is presented. The suggested multi-step prescient model can foresee multi step (mid and short term) tactile information after choosing appropriate hub mixes in which the spatial-fleeting connection is emphasised, according to experiment findings, and its performance is superior than other similar approach. © 2021 ieee.

CSN s are integrating cognitive abilities, making it challenging to achieve optimized cross-layer performance with limited resources. Non-coordinated techniques typically demonstrate lower proficiency in dynamic spectrum management and network synchronization. We introduce Graph Convolutional Networks (GCN) and Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning (MARL) in our architectural solution, with the help of the specially designed Firefly Algorithm. The framework implements a distributed learning process, utilizing GCN for local topology perception and MARL for cooperative spectrum and optimal routing decisions. The results of experimental analysis show large gains compared to traditional methods. The proposed model provided a 94.2% recognition rate in spectrum hole identification, an 89.7% enhancement in network throughput, and a 78.5% diminution in end-to-end delay. The energy efficiency surpasses baseline techniques by 67.3%, while the raw packet delivery reliability remains at 92.8%. Integrating GCN with MARL and the improved Firefly Algorithm can significantly improve cross-layer optimization, offering a promising solution for the next generation of sensor networks.

The test and verification of the electric field characteristics of the scaled model is to make a certain scale model by scaling the size and electrical parameters of the ship through the electric field similarity criterion, and the electric field characteristics of the scaled model are measured under controllable conditions through experiments, and the test results are compared with the simulation results to verify the effectiveness of the test. At present, the characteristics test and analysis of scalar potential or single vector electric field in water based on the scaled model have been carried out in China, but the research on using vector array to obtain three-component electric field data is still in preliminary development, and it is difficult to obtain its spatial characteristics at the same time, resulting in unscientific test methods and incomplete characteristic parameters. In this paper, the model is fixed on the vehicle, multiple sensors are fixed and arranged according to a certain distance to form a measurement array, and the scaled model moves in the direction of the vertical measurement array to obtain the electric field value of the model in a certain plane range at the measurement depth through the sensor array in the water, which can obtain more comprehensive and systematic spatial distribution characteristics than other test methods.

Wireless sensor Networks for structural health monitoring of infrastructure are now becoming an IoT. It provides the ability to collect and analyze survivability data in real-time to enable continuous structural health monitoring for buildings, bridges, and other critical infrastructure. The purpose of this abstract is to introduce Real-time Monitoring with Wireless sensor Networks in IoT Infrastructure. Wireless sensor Networks are used in structural health monitoring. They are typically composed of many distributed, cheap sensors embedded in the structure that communicate wirelessly to a central monitoring station. Those sensors, including temperature, strain and vibration, are critical in detecting potential structural problems. This data gets transmitted to a cloud for processing, which provides indications of an unusual characteristic or predictive failure. Compared to the traditional methods, there are several advantages of applying WSN for real-time structural health monitoring. Lead leads provide real-time updates on the condition of a bridge that allows for continuous monitoring, with advanced sensors pinpointed through its structure. It will assist in keeping the infrastructure safe and affordable by guaranteeing rapid time-to-resolution. In addition, WSNs have low implementation costs and do not interfere too much with the structure of large structures. © 2025 ieee.

This requires ubiquitous sensor networks to monitor and instantaneously predict dangerous gas concentrations at ground level deployed within smart city environments. A sensor network is a collection of many distributed sensors that can be used together to gather data in real-time and from standard logs across an environment, generally allowing users to see, hear, or feel whether emissions are entering their air as they happen. Cities attaching these sensor networks can provide real-time air quality data for municipalities and citizens taking control of our health. It can analyze pollution hotspots, detect trends and patterns over time, and act as an early warning system for dangers. Such work creates a framework for interventions to be undertaken quickly and efficiently to reduce air pollution as soon as possible and work towards protecting residents' public health. sensor networks can also provide historical data, which is necessary for tracking long-term trends and assessing how effective pollution control measures have been. Furthermore, this information can validate city-specific policies and exercise recommendations for reducing air pollution in smart cities. It will give decision-makers and citizens the data they must act on while making well-informed decisions for cleaner air in their cities. © 2025 ieee.
