This article introduces a unique technique for detecting localized islanding in distributed generation (DG) systems connected to the main power network, using a passive approach. The proposed methodology involves calculating the cumulative sum (CUSUM) of the phase angle between the zero-sequence based superimposed components of current and voltage (CS0) at the distributed generation (DG) side, which is then employed to detect the occurrence of islanding. The magnitudes of zero sequence superimposed current and voltage are also computed, and the magnitudes are found to be inconsistent. The current active methodologies deliberately introduce disruptions to the power system, posing potential issues concerning stability, power quality, and overall reliability of the prevailing grid. Passive methods, on the other hand, it has a considerable non-detection zone (NDZ). The technique recommended in this article successfully addresses the NDZ issue without introducing any disturbances. To evaluate its effectiveness, PSCAD/EMTDC is employed for simulating a system. The proposed method undergoes several tests on the said system to assess its performance. The results demonstrate that the suggested approach exhibits the minimum NDZ and can distinguish islanding within a remarkably short duration of 15 ms, significantly faster than a recloser which typically requires 150 ms for detection.

Implementing a wireless mesh network in a real-life scenario requires a significant systems engineering effort to turn a network concept into a complete system. This paper presents an evaluation of a fielded system within the DARPA Subterranean (SubT) Challenge Final Event that contributed to a 3rd place finish. Our system included a team of air and ground robots, deployable mesh extender nodes, and a human operator base station. This paper presents a real-world evaluation of a stack optimized for air and ground robotic exploration in a RF-limited environment under practical system design limitations. Our highly customizable solution utilizes a minimum of non-free components with form factor options suited for UAV operations and provides insight into network operations at all levels. We present performance metrics based on our performance in the Final Event of the DARPA Subterranean Challenge, demonstrating the practical successes and limitations of our approach, as well as a set of lessons learned and suggestions for future improvements.

A microstrip patch antenna with Rectangular Complementary Split Ring Resonator (R-CSRR) for sensing applications is proposed in this paper. In recent years, due to the rapid growth of wireless communication systems and emerging technologies, there has been an increased need for microwave antenna designs that are both compact and efficient. This paper introduces an approach to enhance the performance of microstrip patch antennas through the integration of a RCSRR structure. The proposed design provides an operating frequency of 2.58 GHz and s-parameter magnitude of -21.35 dB. The design can act as a high sensitive microwave sensor to detect the dielectric constants of different analytes. Moreover, a range of machine learning regression algorithms have been utilized to accurately forecast the dielectric constant of the analyte by analyzing the frequency response of the sensor. The performance analysis reveals that polynomial regression exceeds other methods, demonstrating a minimal root mean squared error of 0.2948. These machine learning-driven techniques greatly improve the sensor's performance, making it a valuable asset for the future applications in biochemical sensing.

This paper presents an efficient Intrusion Detection System specified to the requirements of WSNs, targeting blackholes, floods, and scheduling-related intrusion attacks. The increasing vulnerability of WSNs to evolving attack patterns and their constrained resources make traditional security solutions, such as cryptography and trust-based systems, inadequate. The most widely used security technologies employ cryptography and trust-based systems have built-in shortcomings at protecting WSNs against evolving attack patterns and constricted resources. The proposed IDS will circumvent these challenges because it uses ensemble classifiers, namely REP Tree, Random Forest, and JRip, that demonstrate significant performance in the heavily constrained environment and unbalanced datasets. The results show that the system outperforms traditional IDS methods, with reduced resource consumption and a low false positive rate. Using the WSN-DS benchmark dataset, the system managed an average accuracy of 98.3% and a precision of 97.1%. This system is optimal for use in actual WSN installations because of its better performance than traditional IDS methods and small consumption of the resources.

Based on the importance of pipeline monitoring and maintenance in the oil and gas industry, the advantages and advantages of sensors based on the principle of Brillouin Optical Time Domain Reflectance (BOTDR) and Polarized Optical Time Domain Reflectance (POTDR) in oil and gas pipeline monitoring are discussed. Insufficiency, because the BOTDR[1] principle sensor has been applied in the monitoring of oil and gas pipelines, the application value of the POTDR principle sensor in the monitoring of oil and gas pipelines was discussed, and a POTDR[2] sensing system with fiber grating was designed. The grating enhances the intensity of the reflected signal light, which can effectively improve the signal-to-noise ratio of the sensing system and make the measurement of vibration more accurate. Not only vibration, but the influence of pressure, temperature, magnetic field and other physical quantities along the optical fiber will also cause the polarization state of the light wave to change. By collecting and analyzing the change in the polarization state of the light wave, the change in the physical quantity that caused the change in the polarization state of the light wave can be reversed, so as to realize the measurement of physical quantity. The method is stable, feasible, clear in principle, and low in cost, and its application value in the future cannot be underestimated. © 2021 ieee.

we are now moving into an era where the Iota and sensor-based technologies can monitor many parameters, including water quality. Since fresh, potable water is becoming increasingly scarce in many parts of the globe, maintaining a clean and sustainable source for consumption remains one of our biggest challenges today. This challenge can be addressed by leveraging IoT and sensor-based systems that accumulate data from several devices plus study it toward make insight designed meant for better executive. Most available IoT and sensor-based water quality monitoring systems use a network of devices, generally called sensors or data loggers that are connected to take in the multiple variables related to parameters like pH levels, dissolved oxygen placeholders d, and pollutants. This data is subsequently integrated with scientific algorithms and machine learning, which helps to determine water quality fluctuations in near real-time. These systems can be combined with geographic information systems, illuminating the data and making it mappable so that problem areas will likely emerge. IoT and sensor-based water quality monitoring are advantageous against conventional methods in terms of better accuracy, increased efficiency, cost-effectiveness to monitor long term, and the ability to demonstrate effective real-time information about water fettle. Information like this can be critical for managing water resources, as it can identify potential problems such as contamination or water running out. It optimizes these technologies to monitor remote locations, decreasing human labor requirements and enabling real-time decision-making in sustainable water resource management. © 2025 ieee.

Partial discharge (PD) phenomenon in high-voltage (HV) apparatus is a warning symptom of insulation degradation that can eventually lead to equipment breakdown. The ultra-high frequency (UHF) or electromagnetic method has been widely adopted to monitor the insulation condition of HV power equipment such as power transformers. To detect PD occurrence on HV power transformers, the UHF method is preferable due to its high immunity to external interferences such as background noise and electromagnetic interferences from telecommunication. The UHF antennas are used in the UHF method to detect the electromagnetic waves emitted by PD events inside the power transformer tank. Many studies about the design of UHF antennas to detect PD on power transformers have been conducted previously. However, these UHF sensors are still facing noise disturbances especially for on-line partial discharge measurement, in presence of high noise levels. To address interference issues affecting the UHF sensor sensitivity, this paper presents a novel UHF PD sensor called rectangular microstrip patch antenna or simply patch antenna. This type of antenna has a simple structure, low cost for fabrication, and ultra-wideband (UWB) frequency enabling it to detect PD signals in a wide frequency range within the UHF range (300MHz-3GHZ). To design, simulate and optimize the UHF antenna, the HFSS software was used. The FR4-epoxy substrate having a thickness of 1.6mm, and a dielectric constant of 4.4 was used to design and simulate this rectangular patch antenna. The perfect electric conductor (PEC) was used on the rectangular patch, feedline, and ground plane of the designed patch antenna. Faulty nodes are expected to have a significant effect on the performance of Big Data systems. The cause of discharges, on the other hand, is a complex issue. The previous work has mostly focused on identifying Stragglers, optimizing the quality of programming, and root cause investigation. These methods can't offer useful information unless they can assist users automate their services. We are developing a framework that determines when there will be stragglers and must identify gaps to prevent those circumstances. This research proposed a dynamic log collection of heterogeneous virtual machine data and detect the faulty node based on execution performance using various parameters. We introduce multi-task learning mechanisms in this paper, which exchange knowledge between the different versions of nodes. The system first collects log data from available data nodes and applies an unsupervised machine learning technique to detect the straggler. Moreover, once a straggler has been detected by the learning algorithm, it tries mitigating such nodes instead of eliminating those nodes. The major benefit of this research is that the system can handle massive data with minimum data nodes or even system efficiently work with already heated nodes in a distributed environment. Our compositions absorb the shared context in our data, enhancing sweeping statement efficiency on minimal data, unlike naive inter learning frameworks. © 2021 ieee.

To fulfil the Government of India's vision of 100% e-mobility by 2030, all the vehicles should be replaced by e-vehicles. Adoption of EVs under "Make in India" programme promote indigenous manufacture of electric vehicles and create a roaring market for auxiliary services. Collection of traffic data about E-vehicle in the city is utmost required for well organised traffic management, implementation of smart City, extension of essential services such as use of bus lanes, reservation of parking centres in cities, given concession at toll zones and traffic junctions. To control air pollution caused by conventional vehicle and for sustainable development, promotion of electric vehicle is required at national and international levels. Advanced technologies and awareness on pollution control have given E-vehicle a tag to rapid progress in future mobility. Implementation of Intelligent Transport systems (ITS) is essential to monitor and get correct data of traffic in real time basis for traffic management, planning and conveyance safety [1]. So, in that situation which is very necessary in future to identify both electric vehicles and combustion vehicles. Keeping that aim in mind we need to detect which vehicle is electric vehicle and which vehicle is combustion vehicle. For that purposes different techniques are currently in use. The aim of this paper is to discuss different techniques/methods available currently to detect electric and combustion vehicles (EVs) and their comparative study to find the superior method of detection.

Optimizing the mixed-signal systems-on-Chips (SoCs) is a difficult task, particularly while including analog developing blocks and Machine Learning (ML)-based algorithms that make overall performance hard to predict. These designs for minimizing energy consumption increases the lifetime from harvested energy from the environment. In this manuscript, a method is developed for optimizing difficult mixed-signal sensor system that includes three phases. Initially, Pareto-optimal local performance of individual circuits is modelled, developing the macro-model of mixed-signal system performance involving local nonidealities and identifying optimum group of system-level parameters utilizing numerical optimization. The method is employed for Electrocardiogram (ECG) sensor system with integrated arrhythmia classification with minimizing system energy consumption and constraints on inference accuracy. Various numerical optimization algorithms are compared to evaluate its performance for minimizing task are Bayesian Optimization and Gradient-based optimization. The experimental results obtained optimization in reasonable execution time of 9.5 h while compared to existing algorithms on complex mixed-signal system.
