Effective control of electric drive systems with elastic kinematic links in their mechanical section may be achieved using full order state controllers. The difficulties in elastic torque measurement, however, do not permit using the high potential possibilities of such control devices, obliging their replacement by “input-output” controllers or controllers with state observers. Moreover, control is retained only for the output coordinate of the controlled object, with some loss of control quality. As alternative solutions, the systems using the elastic torque value estimated by the equation of motor rotor motion, or the expanded vector of the state of the mechatronic object, resulting in forced introduction of an integral component into the control algorithm were proposed. Additional solutions may use elastic (differentiating) negative feedbacks on certain object state coordinates. The most effective solution is selected by a set of specified quality criteria (robustness, invariance, noise immunity, complexity and others), taking into account the specifics of the mechanical section of the controlled object, the natural oscillation frequency of which may be lower or higher than the cut-off frequency of the synthesized system.

The importance of integrating distributed Generation (DG) into power system networks has increased in recent years due to rising electricity demand and limited production capacity. DG provides various solutions to various challenges, including providing alternative energy sources, reduces losses in transmission & distribution, and enhancing voltage stability etc. However, it also poses difficulties such as optimal placement, sizing, as well as fault detection in the system, etc. This paper proposes a comprehensive approach to address these difficulties through DG optimization and fault detection and classification in the ieee 9-bus System. The suggested approach optimizes the placement and sizes of DG by minimizing active power losses and improving the voltage profile. The optimal result in the ieee 9-bus system is achieved with a 40 MW DG unit located at bus location 5. The fault detection and classification aspect utilizes Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) techniques to identify abnormal conditions and provide accurate and quick responses to maintain the desired level of reliability in the power system. The proposed approach was tested on different case studies in the MATLAB/SIMULINK environment. The proposed method can quickly detect and respond to all types of power system faults without errors, ensuring the stability of the power system. The research findings have significant implications for the optimal integration of DG in power systems and the development of effective fault detection and classification methods.

Highly effective and reliable high-speed milling depends on the timely tool condition monitoring (TCM) check. In this paper, we propose a novel approach for tool condition prediction based on DQN with sensor fusion data. Both contact and non-contact sensors such as, vibrational, force, and acoustic emission sensors are utilized to gather data in real time during milling. The information collected by these sensors are integrated into a number of important features to be used in DQN model to learn the prediction of tool wear and possible failure. The DQN model is built to learn from the response of the milling environment characterized by tool condition in terms of wear and the remaining useful life (RUL). The results derived from experiments tend to show that the utilised DQNbased model has better quantitative values for accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score than classical machine learning models like artificial neural networks (ANN), support vector regression (SVR), decision trees and etc. The integration of the sensor data enhances the overall prediction reliability, a factor which is highly achieved from the fusion of the data received from the vibration, force and acoustic emission sensors. The overall system proposed has significant application for real time implementation and demonstrates relatively short prediction time and is less sensitive to changes in the machining conditions. This proposed methodology is a feasible approach for improving tool life and reducing time needed for high speed milling applications. © 2025 ieee.

In a world where nearly everything we do depends on sight;it is ever more challenging for the unsighted to cope with it and lead a normal life without being reliant on the presence of a companion. Finding a mechanism to convey visual information to the brain is the most difficult part of the research as well as the development of efficient sensory replacement and augmentation systems. In this paper, we aim to propose Brain Sight as an innovative system to help blind people identifying and discovering things in front of them using vibro-tactile display for vision sensory substitution. Brain Sight is a wearable vest-like fabric containing small vibration motors that displays pulses to map the seen images on the Lower-back of the visually impaired. A deep labeling segmentation and edge detection techniques are applied to the captured image after preprocessing. A simple prototype is implemented and tested with volunteers. Thanks to neuroplasticity and the cognitive cortex inside humans' brain, the implemented vest showed promising results. Without the need for intensive training, Brain Sight enables blind to recognize different shapes and numbers. © IET conference Proceedings 2022.

The new concept of smart city requires numerous electronic devices such as actuator sensor interface distributed across multiple outdoor environment. The internet of things (IoT) plays a crucial role in connected devices via the internet. In fibre optics (FO) communication networks, light-emitting diodes (LEDs) or Laser diodes (LDs) are often utilised as a light source. An energy harvesting (EH) unit could be attached to the receivers to charge a battery and supply low-power modules in the IoT network and terminal devices. This paper deals with a Gigabit Passive Optics Network (GPON) FO system that incorporates an EH unit to harvest energy while transmitting data. As we know, most cities have an already installed GPON, using it to interconnect and supply low-power devices will go a long way to ease the already much needed power in IoTs devices. A model proposed in this paper is such that energy will be harvested from LEDs lights and the output power determined base on the simultaneous light-wave information and power transfer (SLIPT). The illustration shows that more energy can be harvested with an initial increase in the surface area of the solar panel for a decreased noise power. Finally, proposed GPON fiber optic receivers with SLIPT energy harvesting system numerical results are presented to evaluate the performance.

The sensor nodes are distributed over the specific geographical region within the wireless sensor network. Since nodes are randomly deployed, network could have low as well as densely deployed network areas. The DBSCAN algorithm is used to separate the high- and low-density areas. The entire network is separated into four grids;from each grid, a master cluster head was selected, and only that master cluster head is allowed to communicate sensed information to the sink. The main goal of this algorithm was to prevent the redundancy along with enhanced network’s lifetime and improved stability period. Usually movement of goods from one location to another requires human input. This is a tiring job in industries where goods are picked and placed in bulk and the weight of goods to be carried is beyond human potential. Automation industry can play a large role in reducing the human labour and making the process more efficient. In this paper, we put forward a solution to this problem using environment friendly automation technology. We use NodeMCU as the connection between the system and the device through the internet. Our goal is to reduce human interference in hazardous work environment and place with oxygen deficiency through an app controlled 3D printed robotic arm. This arm can be controlled through an android application from anywhere around the globe and can be programmed to perform basic tasks. Furthermore, we are using 3D printing technology so as to eliminate the requirements of production moulds thereby reducing the cost of the arm and making it more feasible. Another objective of this Project was to make the Arm as environmentally safe as possible. Hence, a solar panel will be connected to the Chassis. This ensures that the primary source of power for the Arm is solar energy which is a renewable resource. In addition to this, the plastic which will be used to 3D print the individual parts will be biodegradable and thereby reducing the carbon footprint. © 2021 ieee.

distributed wireless networks are capable of delivering solutions for countless engineering and viable applications. The sensor nodes of these wireless networks tolerate tons of limitations namely low computation capability, secured data transmission, tiny memory, fractional energy resources, etc. Within this environment any sensor node can initiate the communication over a period, hence it is imperative to enhance the reliability of data which is communicated. In a secured communication, diverse numbers of hardware devices are employed for sharing the information wirelessly. Therefore, the dynamic keys guarantee the secureness of data between the diverse numbers of user devices. Here the manuscript deals about a method of generating dynamic keys for secure communication in a distributed environment that cannot be predicted or cloned by the previous values. The dynamic keys are generated by employing a hybrid hardware of PRNG (Pseudo-Random Number Generator) and PUF (Physical Unclonable Function). A hardware platform is preferred to produce the randomly unclonable dynamic keys. © 2021 ieee.

This paper aims to solve challenges concerning cost, manual labor, and efficiency in aquaponics by designing and implementing NeuroAqua, an optimized and automated AI and IoT-based aquaponics system, in both a lab setting (small-scale) and a field setting (large-scale) in Ouroboros Farms in Half Moon Bay, CA. In the system, wireless sensors monitor key factors for system effectiveness and send data to a cloud database. NeuroAqua integrates 6 types of sensors, collecting data regarding the environment, water, and nutrients, such as air temperature, humidity, pH, light, Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium, and Total Dissolved Solids. Camera module sensors were also developed to capture and monitor plant growth automatically. These 6 types of sensors were implemented in both settings and successfully collected 8 plant growth samples (2 types of plants in 4 different settings) each across 2 weeks from NeuroAqua. NeuroAqua transformed the data from the sensors into a structured database, which was fed to the machine learning (ML) models for data analysis. It also feeds data to our online monitoring system and sends out alarms when the tested values fall below or exceed the normal range. NeuroAqua is the first aquaponics system to implement a comprehensive automatic machine learning system into a real farm setting.

Wireless sensor Networks (WSN) focus on designing energy efficient mechanisms by selecting an optimal Cluster Head (CH) and implementing secure routing protocols. The WSN aims to reduce energy consumption while dynamically maximizing network efficiency. However, secure routing and Cluster Head (CH) selection in dynamic networks is optimal but challenging in WSNs. To overcome this problem, a hybrid optimization-based algorithm, Harris Hawks Optimization with Arithmetic Optimization Algorithm HHAOA is proposed to choose the optimal CHs in a dynamic network. The proposed HHAOA is utilized for solving coverage and connectivity issues in the routing algorithm. The proposed HHAOA system minimizes energy consumption for superior network performance. Additionally, multi-hop transmission and distance-based fitness function are employed for efficient CH and route path selection to ensure that coverage and connectivity parameters are taken into consideration for model proficiency with minimal energy consumption. The fitness function is used to measure the distance between CH and Base Station (BS), node degree, location factor, energy and distance for optimal CH and routing path selection. The proposed HHAOA consumes 63 (J) energy for 100 nodes with a throughput of 98 (kbps) for each100 rounds.
