Fault tolerance (FT) is a feature of top importance in the long-life real-time systems. The Service Control Point (SCP) in the Intelligent Network (IN) is just one of this kind of systems. Its dependability affects directly the Quality of Service (QoS) of the whole network. In the paper, we give a overview on the software fault tolerance (SFT) at first, and decide to adopt the Time-Redundancy approach to implemant the SFT of SCP according to the special features of the IN application. Based on the processing mechanism of IN calls and under the consideration of load-balance, software fault-tolerance and software upgrading on-line, we present a Two-Level Concurrence Model of SCP software, and give our implemen-tation of this model in the multi-task environment. Furthermore, we discuss in detail the issuses of SFT based on this model, and give the corresponding strategies and algorithms to achieve the specified whole FT targets. At last, we have a further discuss on the system effectiveness of the SCP software, and provide a computing method of the effectiveness of the SCP software based on the Markov model.

With the improvement of mobile equipment performance and development of Pervasive Computing, interactive computational applications such as Multi-Agent systems in PCE (Pervasive Computing Environments) become more and more prevalent. However, the traditional Multi-Agent framework cannot completely adapt to the features of this new environment, e.g. a diversity of applications and devices. This paper studies the Multi-Agent software framework in PCE, along with the goal of proposing a Multi-Agent software framework more responsive to the needs of Pervasive Computing. The application of new framework can bring better performance of the interactive computational application in PCE. With significant advances in software development technologies in recent years, it is now possible to have complex softwareapplications, which include a large number of heterogeneous software components distributed over a large network of computers with different computational capabilities. To run such applications, their components must be instantiated on proper hardware resources in their target environments so that some requirements and constraints are met. This process is called software deployment. For large, distributed, component-based applications with many constraints and requirements, it is difficult to do the deployment process manually, and some automated tools and techniques are required. This paper presents a graph-based approach for this purpose that is not dependent on any specific component technology and does the deployment planning with respect to the communication resources required by application components and communication resources available on the hosts in the target environment. In our approach, component-based applications and distributed environments are modeled with the help of graphs. Deployment of an application is then defined as the mapping of the application graph to the target environment graph.
