In the superheterodyne receiver system needs frequency translation process between the Radio Frequency (RF) signal and Local Oscilator (LO) signal. The process will converts RF to Intermediate Frequency (IF). In this paper, present designed and realized a down-conversion mixer which operates at S-band frequency for coastal-radar application. In the design process, the advanced design system (ADS 2011.11) software is applied to design and simulate it. This mixer has been built by using 90o quadrature hybrid Coupler with single balance technique. Whilst, the realization uses microstrip lines technique and two pieces of SMS 3923 schottky diode. The measurement results has been obtained as follows: 24.42 dB conversion loss at 600 MHz, with-30 dBm of RF signal and 15 dBm of LO signal. © 2018 ieee.

A wide range of applications in the field of the Internet-of-Things (IoT) possess only strongly limited energy resources. This rises the need for Ultra-Low Power (ULP) designs that enable processing with lowest energy consumption. This, however, comes at considerable performance costs. Consequently, there is a need for flexible design flows that enable the designer to select the best tradeoff between energy consumption and performance for the destined application. Towards this end, we present in this paper a complete flow for the design of a ULP standard cell library based on the subthreshold methodology. The flow considers both the selection of the appropriate technology parameters, like supply voltage and base sizing, as well as the actual design and characterization of the standard cells. Simulation results for an ARM-based processor and ITC'99 and EPFL benchmark circuits realized in a commercial 130 nm technology indicate a possible reduction of power consumption of several factors, while performance degrades between two and three orders of magnitude. © 2018 ieee.

Internet of things (IoT) comprises is the system of physical devices, machines and different devices inserted with electronics, programming, sensors, Actuators, and interconnectivity that have unique identities and are connected to the internet. Traditionally the productivity of CNC was confined to the counts of the products produced. In Industrial Internet of Things the productivity can be measured with the help of predictive and prescriptive maintenance. This paper is focused on study of productivity using IoT platforms. A feasibility analysis was carried out with and without using a software platform designed to make manufacturing efficient and cost effective. Various factors affecting the productivity of CNC were explored. The predictive breakdowns during the manufacturing were calculated. Analysis was carried out to check for differences in Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) in traditional CNC and IoT enabled CNC. Finally it is observed that the OEE was increased for the CNC from 59.9% to 78.59%. © 2018 ieee.

Load forecasting is the basis and premise of safe and reliable economic operation and planning of power systems. This paper analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of various load forecasting models, including gray model (GM), support vector machine (SVM), back propagation (BP), neural network method (NNM), combination forecasting method (CFM) and expert system method (ESM). Based on the analysis of the traditional power load forecasting algorithm of the power grid, according to the characteristics of different forecasting time phases, a boolean recursive algorithm (BRA) for power load characteristic prediction is proposed. In this model, the whole year is divided into five feature prediction stages, the prediction algorithm formulas of different feature stages are different. Based on the new algorithm, a set of load forecasting software are designed. This paper introduces the main functions and features of the software and describes how the software is predicted. And the BRA uses the actual historical data values of the power supply company to predict the power load, the application shows the feasibility.

Data acquisition for monitoring the spiky activity of large-scale SNN hardware architectures are a challenge due to their time constraints, complexity, large logic size, and so on. This paper presents a versatile PSoC-Based Data Acquisition prototype, where a specialized Master Device is used for this purpose. It benefits from the heterogeneous nature of SoC platforms that allows it to host programmable logic together with a hard-core ARM processor integrating memory and a variety of peripherals in a single chip. The presented design enables monitoring the performance of a multi-chip neural network through a single Ethernet interface in a hardware and software co-design, which is combined with an application developed in Python that allows the visualization on the PC of a dynamic raster plot of neural activity. In addition, an example of full platform functionality is shown. © 2018 ieee.

Statics show that mastering the computer-Aided translation software operating tools has been clearly required in their recruitment advertising for translators of 47.6% enterprises. It has been a trend to use computer-Aided translation tools for all translators to enhance efficiency. However, there is still no accessible computer assisted translation system specially for Tibetan-English translation, the paper introduces a design for it from system model, key module and function application which hopes to apply more effective assistance for Tibetan-Chinese translators and promotes the communication and spreading of Tibetan-English information. © 2018 ieee.

In this paper, summarizing the problems in the operation and maintenance, and based on data syncretism, research which is on the outdoor installation protection of multi-source perception and intelligent diagnosis technology, designs an outdoor installation protection perception and operational maintenance platform that highly integrated protection on-line monitoring and diagnosis, protection information sub-station, power system dynamic recording equipment and network message recording and analysis device as one system, and expounds in detail the system architecture of the platform, software framework, realization principle and key technology. The platform through the multi-source data acquisition, and the data sharing between each module and system integration, implements the outdoor installation protection multi-source perception and intelligent diagnosis, improving the efficiency and convenience of field operation and maintenance work, for outdoor installation protection of the safe and stable operation is of great significance. The platform has been successfully carried out in substation pilot application, achieving good results.

Although cyberspace has transformed the way we live our lives, many well-known vulnerabilities in critical infrastructure have gone unchecked, and the reliance on technology has left us increasingly at risk. Today, cybersecurity attacks and breaches are an all too familiar event, underscoring the need for establishing a front line defense to significantly bolster the security and resilience of cyberspace against skilled adversaries. However, even after repeated calls to action for building a highly capable cybersecurity workforce, we still lack enough skilled professionals to help defend our nation against a myriad of known systemic risks. Objectives: While there have been numerous attempts over the past decade to address the dearth of talent and foster greater capacity building in cybersecurity, it is only recently that stake-holders in government, industry, and academia have started to get more involved [1]. For sure, meeting the challenges of training the next generation of cybersecurity professionals in a discipline that changes rapidly is not easy, and success in that endeavor mandates a hands-on approach to educating those interested in careers in cybersecurity. Moreover, in order to build a capable work force it is imperative that folks with a passion for programming have access to environments that support learning and testing of weaknesses in software at the application and operating system levels. Unfortunately that is rarely the case today, and we may be losing many talented individuals early on as they choose career paths because either systems-oriented material is not presented to them in an appealing or engaging way [2, 3], or the resources needed to explore the subject are not readily accessible. The embedded multimedia devices which are designed to perform computationally intensive DSP applications such as Image Processing and a large range of multimedia tasks. For improving the performance of image processing systems, processing algorithms should be implemented in hardware platforms. For real time applications, reconfigurable hardware in the form of Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) are used which are able to provide high performance with low latency. The inherent reprogram ability of FPGAs gives them the flexibility of software while retaining the performance advantages of an application specific solution. In real time applications as image sizes grow larger, only real-time hardware systems have to be used with less software. This paper proposes a fully pipelined architecture implementation of skeletonization algorithm for 2-D gray scale images. 3x3 windowing operator is used for analyzing the pixel values. The proposed architecture is tested for image size of 8×8, but the approach discussed can be used for images of any size, as long as the FPGA memory will hold it. The implementation was carried out on Xilinx Vertex 5 board.
