In recent years, metamorphic testing has been successfully and systematically adopted within Adobe systems to improve the cost effectiveness of its software process. In this industry experience report, we present a case where metamorphic testing has been applied to the Data Collection JavaScript Library of Adobe Analytics. This type of software is difficult to test using traditional approaches. The application of metamorphic testing alleviated the oracle problem, and detected real-life bugs in the system under test as well as compatibility problems between the system and its environment, namely, the Internet Explorer browser. Our results further justify the adoption of metamorphic testing as a simple yet effective approach in industrial settings.

The transport type metal detector balanced differential transmission coil to detect metal particles. In the process of industrial production, other metal production equipment, transmission belt of steel and other external factors are influenced by the test. Repeated experiments can reduce the interference, but will affect the production efficiency, this paper provides a more efficient and effective finite element modeling method, greatly shorten the development cycle. First of all, it's introduced the actual experimental system of metal detectors and the geometric model. Then, using the finite element simulation software COMSOL which can build twodimensional modeling method to model the balance coil, analyze the magnetic field and the output current amplitude in order to found the relationships between the amplitude of output current and materials, size, location of the metal objects. Finally, the curves of numerical simulation and practical measure are accomplished. The research results provide some theoretical basis for the design of the metal detector, and have certain application value.

This paper addresses the development of hardware and software systems needed for the operation of a Class II remotely operated vehicle, by using a systems engineering approach. The concept design included using Quality Function Deployment in order to translate stakeholders' needs into engineering characteristics. Then, the functional division of the ROV system was performed, allowing the designers to develop the electronics functional architecture. Solutions for all functions in the electronics system were integrated into a comprehensive hardware architecture that fulfills the user's requirements. Finally, a software application for the navigation, guidance, and control of the ROV was designed based on the actor model. Verification of some components was performed and showed the functionality of the developed systems. High modularity and low coupling of the resulting solutions enables a multidisciplinary teamwork to integrate efforts seamlessly and efficiently during the development of the ROV.

Use of HVDC circuit breaker in HVDC system shown successful results. But imposing DC fault current during DC fault have not achieved yet. To overcome this problem, there is one alternative solution to use of superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL). This paper deals with application of resistive SFCL (R_Sfcl) for high voltage direct current (HVDC) system with direct current circuit breaker (DCCB) by using current breaking topology to estimate the effects of fault current limiter. Point to point HVDC system test bed model designed with SFCL and DC breaker. It is implemented in MATLAB/SIMULINK software. The Direct current (DC) fault current interruption characteristic of Mechanical CB is verified when SFCL was applied. Transient fault simulation is performed by using pole to pole fault created on receiving end.

software systems have a strong impact on the energy consumption of the hardware they use. For this reason, software developers should be more aware of the energy consumed by their systems. Moreover, software systems should be developed to be able to adapt their behavior to minimize the energy consumed during their execution. This paper illustrates how to address the problem of developing self-adaptive energy-efficient applications using the HADAS approach. HADAS makes use of advanced software engineering methods, such as Dynamic software Product Lines and Aspect-Oriented software Development. The main steps of the HADAS approach, both during the design of the application and also at runtime are illustrated by applying them to a running case study.

software systems and applications developed in the modern era are created using various design techniques. These designs are specially created on specific themes and purposes. Present day military applications demand effective, efficient and satisfactory outputs in a highly portable package. Designing an efficient application exclusively for military use demands a professionally applicable design technique. In the existing literature, no specific design technique is proposed to implement a multi-channel (web and mobile version) military application. However, Interactive Dialogue Model (IDM) is a design technique specifically tailored for multi-channel (web, mobile) applications. As military applications need versatile use in multiple platforms, therefore, the objective of this paper was to assess the applicability of IDM to develop a multi-channel military application. As outcome, we developed a military software system for battlefield communication using IDM. An evaluation was carried out with eleven participants. As outcome, we found that the proposed system was effective, flexible, easy to use and supports multichannel features. © 2017 ieee.

Many guidance systems are available for visually impaired travelers to help safely against obstacles and other accidences faced. The entire model which consists of obstacle detection system sensors like IR sensor, Float sensor, vibration motor, earphones and other hardware components needs to be mounted on the stick. The proposed model for obstacle detection using commonly available electronic devices to alert blind person. The user can walk himself without anyone's help in common public places. If the user is in some problem by which he/she cannot respond, the proposed system informs pre-specified social contacts by sending message. Alerting the pre-specified social contacts is completely application development oriented.

This paper describes a methodology for jamming traditional combat net radios using commercial software-defined radios mounted on unmanned aerial vehicles. The paper demonstrates the technical feasibility of this method given size, weight, and power constraints. We propose tactics, techniques, and procedures for employing this system as a means of electronic fires organic to an infantry battalion. We demonstrate a tactical scenario to show the potential utility of this system. Finally, acquisition cost considerations are covered. © 2017 ieee.
