In order to break the bulwark and eliminate the information isolated island in UGIS, the architecture of SOA-oriented urban spatial information platform is proposed. The SOA-oriented urban spatial information management and service architecture is designed and the key technologies are discussed in detail. The architecture is based on service and adopts the convenient and widely used SOA. It contains five logical structures, which are application layer, spatial information publishing layer, and spatial information service layer, spatial information supporting layer, the basic supporting layer. Through the five layers and the key technologies in them, the architecture can connect the computing, data and software resources which distributed in each urban department and accept users' access requirements by web portal everywhere. The key technologies of ontology-based urban spatial information semantic sharing model and the urban spatial information dynamic aggregation model are discussed in detail. The architecture can solve the interoperability problem of multi-source systems and give a guide theory model and implement scheme for the urban spatial information sharing.

A new compact microstrip bandpass filter design is presented in this paper as a candidate for use in modern wireless communication systems. The proposed filter structure is composed of two fractal-based microstrip resonators. The structure of each resonator is in the form of the 3rd iteration Peano fractal curve. The resulting filter structure based on these resonators, shows a considerable size reduction compared with the other microstrip bandpass filters based on other space-filling geometries designed at the same frequency. A second bandpass filter design based on the same resonator but with a tuning stub has been also presented, in an attempt to provide practically useful means to tune the filter to the specified performance with a considerable tuning range. The performance of the resulting filter structures has been evaluated using a method of moments (MoM) based electromagnetic simulator IE3D, from Zeland software Inc. Results show that the proposed filter structures possess good return loss and transmission responses besides the size reduction gained, making them suitable for use in a wide variety of wireless communication applications. Furthermore, performance responses show that the second filter, based on Peano shaped resonator with stub, has less tendency to support the 2nd harmonic. ©2009 ieee.

Accurate traffic flow forecasting is the key to the development of intelligent transportation systems (ITS). However, the classical forecasting method using the support vector regression (SVR) based on RBF kernel does not support online learning and has the problems of information loss, long processing time, low robustness and so on. An effective Marr Wavelet kernel which we combine the wavelet theory with AOSVR (MW-AOSVR) to construct for traffic flow forecasting is presented in this paper. The forecasting performance of MW-AOSVR is evaluated by real-time traffic flow data of southbound US 101 Freeway, in Los Angeles, USA and a variety of experiments are carried out. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed approach with Marr Wavelet kernel provides more optimal performance than that with radial basis function (RBF) kernel and has much more precise forecasting rate and higher efficiency, especially for boundary approximation.

Radio Frequency switches are widely used in commercial, aerospace and defense applications. These include satellite communication systems, wireless communication and radar systems. In order to select an appropriate RF switch for any application, one must first consider the required performance specifications such as frequency bandwidth, power handling capability, signal level, switching speed, power consumption and tolerable losses. RF MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical-System) technology offers the necessary performance advantages over existing solid-state options. A design of DC contact RF MEMS shunt switch is proposed in this paper. The design is optimized in terms of activation mechanism which includes switch hinge thickness, bridge thickness, air gap height and number of menders. The pull-in voltage is analyzed with commercial CAD finite element analysis software IntelliSuite.

CNC systems have been widely adopted in the modern manufacturing and most of them were built on computers. As a result of the special hardware and software, it is difficult to maintain the CNC systems and update them. To solve the problem above, many new methods were adopted. One method based on DSP is studied in this paper. The features of new generation CNC based on DSP were presented and characteristics of DSP were introduced. Details about how to complete the design of hardware and software were discussed. By using the pipeline structure of DSP, rapid coding can be done. Dual-CPU architecture is adopted in this paper. And by combining DSP, host computer and some other peripheral equipment, the whole CNC system can be constructed. Meanwhile the control methods to realize the position closed-loop and speed closed-loop are given. © 2009 ieee.

Chief information officers (CIO) are faced with the increasing complexity of application landscapes. The task of specifying future architectures depends on an exact assessment of the current state. When CIOs have to evaluate the whole landscape or certain applications of it, they are facing an enormous challenge, since there is no common methodology for that purpose. Within this paper we address this task and present an approach for enterprise architecture dependent application evaluations. We outline why it is important not only to assess single applications by classical software metrics in order to get an indication of their quality, but also to regard the overall context of an enterprise application. To round up this contribution we present a brief example from a project with one of our industrial partners.

Increasing the revenue through monetization of content is becoming the priority for content owners and service providers. Portable devices such as smartphones and other audio and video devices have joined computers as end-user devices for accessing digital content over the Internet. This increases the revenue potential and also the security risks and protection requirements. Strong authentication of the user and access device is fundamental to prevent revenue leakage and is a necessary prerequisite for other security controls such as DRMs and encryption between media server and client. This article proposes a strong authentication mechanism for authenticating the user and the device using digital certificate and Device ID along with the conventional User ID - password. A Secure Video Store application implemented with the proposed strong authentication and showcased to leading telecom operators is described in this paper as a case study.

Numerous emerging applications like teleconferencing, scientific discussion etc. are relied on secure group communication model. Scalable group rekeying is one of the important issues in secure group communication since the group is dynamic in nature. Updating the group key and delivering it to group members securely must be carried out in an efficient manner, i.e., the number of encryptions performed and rekey messages constructed must be less. In this paper we propose a new method to manage secure group using binomial key tree approach. We show that number of encryptions performed and rekey messages constructed during membership change are less compared to the scheme proposed by Wong and others. In our scheme, it is not required to balance the tree after membership change. We compute the average encryption and rekey costs and show that the scheme is scalable.

Considering the limitation of the traditional and current examination system, this paper brings forward a framework and be used for the general exam system. The general exam system is based on three layers: the user layer, the application logic layer and the data services layer with ontology base, user feature base, method base and knowledge base. In the system, ontology is used to describe the knowledge, realize knowledge sharing and exchange, and the multi-agents, agents' coordination and collaboration are used respectively to realize various functions and application of the system. This model is successfully applied to computer basic course examinations.

This paper proposes a call admission control (CAC) scheme for heterogeneous wireless overlay networks (WONs) that combine the benefits of the three commonly used techniques- guard channel, buffer management and priority scheduling with fuzzy logic application. The simulation results show that the scheme is extremely efficient offering a high degree of quality of service (QoS).
