The commercially available metro energy storage systems (MESSs) are using silicon (Si)-based power devices which suffer from bulky, limited switching frequency, and energy conversion efficiency problems. In this paper, the application of 3rd generation power semiconductors silicon carbide (SiC) devices is proposed to apply in bidirectional isolated resonant converter for MESS. This resonant converter acts as an interface between high voltage DC overhead line of metro system and battery storage system, while bidirectional power flow is enabled by utilizing full bridge converter circuits. The application of SiC power switches in the proposed MESS offers several advantages to break through the performance limits of Si-based MESS, including: (i) the boosting of switching frequency up to tens of kHz due to the improved dynamic parameters of SiC devices;(ii) the improvement of power density because of downsizing bulky passive elements such as inductor-capacitor (LC) based filters and transformers;and (iii) the enhancement of energy conversion efficiency due to minimization of switching losses resulting from zero voltage switching (ZVS) operation of bidirectional resonant converter, which is favorable for energy storage systems. The principle of operation, proposed hybrid control methodology, and key parameters designs of the converter are briefly discussed in this paper. A simulation model of a SiC-based MESS, with the applications of bidirectional resonant converter, 50 kW power rating, 750 V DC bus voltage and 552 V battery voltage, has been built in MATLAB Simulink to preliminary verify the operation and performance of the proposed idea.

Reinforcement learning has attracted much attention in the field of mechanical control, but it has rarely been applied in projects requiring high precision and short control cycle. In order to realize the high frequency and high precision control of multi axis cooperative complex mechanism, this paper decouples and virtualizes the control system of a structure consisting of four valves, infers commands and send control signals at 500Hz, and controls the displacement precisely. The author modified the Proximal Policy Optimization algorithm and made some improvements in the updating rules and training environment, such as batch advantage normalization, attenuation of learning rate, strategy entropy reward, speed control reward, and addition of noise. Finally, the performance of the algorithm exceeded that of PID, ray-PPO in the simulation. © 2023 IEEE.

To achieve the infrared/radar integrated stealth of a helicopter, the integrated infrared suppressor is incorporated into the design of stealth helicopter. Using CFD simulation, forward-backward ray-tracing method, and physical optics method, the temperature field, infrared radiation characteristics and radar scattering characteristics of stealth helicopter in hover are calculated. Results show that under the combined effect of the ejected flow of integrated infrared suppressor and downwash airflow, the mixing duct and rear fuselage of stealth helicopter can be effectively cooled. Under the influence of tail rotor airflow, the left fuselage is heated locally by high-temperature exhaust gas. Due to the integrated design scheme of the exhaust system and rear fuselage, the latter can effectively shield the high-temperature mixing duct, therefore, total infrared radiation in 3~5 ȝm band is mainly from gas and fuselage skin, and their magnitudes are comparable. However, for 8~14 ȝm band, gas infrared radiation can be neglected. At 3 GHz, 6 GHz, 10 GHz and 15 GHz frequency points, the RCS mean of the stealth helicopter throughout the entire circumference is controlled below 4 dBsm, which indicates that the integrated design scheme can not only reduce infrared radiation but also have good radar stealth capability. © The Institution of Engineering & Technology 2023.

Efficiency and safety are key factors that must be emphasized in pulsed power applications. The discharge characteristics of pulsed power supply directly determine the performance of the railgun. This paper conducts a research on short-circuit faults in transmission coaxial cables of pulsed power supply. In order to study the effect of short-circuit fault on the discharge characteristics of pulsed power supply and system efficiency,a pulse-forming network with cable short-circuit failure and dynamic railgun model are established in the paper. The effect of short-circuit fault on peak current is discussed by simulation. The results show that the short-circuit fault currents are all higher than the currents under normal conditions, and the closer the short-circuit location is to the power supply side, the higher the peak value of current is. In some extreme case, the peak fault current exceeds 1.5 times the normal, which requires consideration of short-circuit fault protection measures, such as the addition of a DC circuit breakers. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

RCS refers to the radar cross section, which is an important index to reflect the electromagnetic scattering characteristics of the object. RCS measurement is the only method to obtain the real RCS of objects. Since test range often cannot reach the far-field condition for large size object, the near-field-to-far-field transformation(NFFFT) technology is significant in the RCS measurement. The core of NFFFT are different algorithms. Among them, the weighted fourier integral transformation is a universal algorithm, but the data in the aspect angle is segmented in the process, which leads to the discontinuity of the transformation results at the splicing point. This paper introduces a method to optimize the precision of weighted fourier integral transformation algorithm, which can fully suppress the discontinuity of transform results and improve the precision of weighted fourier integral transformation algorithm under the paraxial constraint conditions. Finally, the result of simulation demonstrates the precision and efficiency of this method. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The general trend seen in the modern electrical industry is an increased adoption of reluctance machines. These devices offer performance rivaling other designs like induction and permanent magnet while having efficiency and cost advantages. Due to their lack of need for permanent magnets and rotor circuits, these machines are a prime choice for applications with sustainability in mind. Rare earth mining is not needed for these machines and the lack of rotor circuitry allows for higher efficiency and durability. The lack of mainstream adoption until recently has been needed for a complex drive circuitry, which is now being solved using lowered computation costs and advances in solid-state electronics. To explore the possibility of an efficient and novel motor drive design, the simulation of a three-phase 6/4 60kW switched reluctance motor (SRM) drive is designed to make the motor go into free-wheeling operation once every two rotations. The proposed system operation was compared with the regular motor operation to validate the benefit of increased efficiency. © 2022 IEEE.

With the continuous innovation of Internet technology, the explosive growth of information has become one of its most obvious characteristics, and how to break through the problem of data storage has become an urgent challenge to be solved. The knowledge graph proposed by Google can intuitively describe the relationship between entities in the objective world in the form of a graph, which is of great help in solving this problem. Firstly, the basic concept of knowledge graph is expounded, and include the key steps of knowledge extraction, knowledge fusion, knowledge storage, etc. Taking the relationship between confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19) in a certain city over the recent period as an example, a knowledge graph of case relationship is constructed. The results indicated that the knowledge graph intuitively shows the transmission path of the epidemic, which can provide certain help for the effective prevention and control of the epidemic. © VDE VERLAG GMBH - Berlin - Offenbach.

Wireless power transfer (WPT) technology is more convenient and flexible than traditional wired charging technology, which can eliminate the metal wire connection between the power supply and the load. In this paper, a wireless charging system which combines inductive power transfer (IPT) and capacitive power transfer (CPT) circuits for desktop is proposed. The system can realize the two working modes of IPT and CPT respectively, and users can switch the charging mode according to the specific use scenario and charging demand. Both IPT and CPT circuits adopt the series-series compensation, which has the advantages of a simple structure and high efficiency. In this paper, the theoretical analysis and derivation of the circuit topology under the two operating modes are carried out, and the parameter design process is given. Finally, the validity of the system is verified by simulation.

The power oscillation of the new energy grid connected system has a significant impact on the stable operation of the system. This article analyzes the impact of nonlinear links in new energy grid connected systems on system power oscillations, such as control switching and amplitude limiting. The PMSG grid connected system adopts Type-4 structure, and the control switching logic and existing limiting links in each control link under normal and fault states are analyzed. Through system simulation calculation, the influence of system limiting links, control switching, and related control parameters on system power oscillation is analyzed.
