This paper discusses the analysis of mobile robot frames for planting water spinach seeds. This analysis aims to determine the displacement and the stresses distribution caused by the load acting on the frame. The method used in this research is simulation-based using the finite element analysis with Autodesk Inventor 2020. The material used for the frame is Galvanized Steel. The load location is carried out with a magnitude of 261.9 N on the left and right beam frame, and 284.09 N in the middle of the beam frame. This load is given from the calculation of the total weight of the storage volume and the total weight of the mobile robot components. The results showed that with the given loads, the maximum Von misses stress was 38.03 MPa and the maximum displacement was 1.49 mm. From these results, it can be concluded that the structural frame used for a mobile robot is safe at a safety factor of up to 5.4. It is proven that the yield stress, of course, occurs 38.03 MPa less than 207 MPa of the material. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Additive manufacturing (AM) allows to create complex shapes and to improve the performance of critical components in different fields. The characteristics of the as-built parts can be an obstacle in terms of satisfaction of the parts’ quality requirements. Concerning the manufacturing process, the relationship among the process parameters, microstructure and mechanical properties is crucial in different areas and involves innovative and traditional fabrication techniques. Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) is widely employed to fabricate devices with tailored and enhanced properties. In this context, the process parameters clearly influence the quality of devices fabricated from different polymer-based materials, according to the specific AM technology. As reported in the literature, many theoretical models for the prediction of the surface quality focus on the concept of roughness. Furthermore, several parameters have also been proposed to assess the surface quality. Benefiting from advances in design strategies and methodologies of analysis, the aim of the current research was to provide further insight into the development of models for surface roughness prediction in FDM. The relationship among the layer height, printing speed, flow rate and extrusion width was considered and implemented in the model. Aluminium metal matrix composites have picked up significance in different industries due to their great mechanical properties. Aluminium metal matrix composites are favoured in the fields of aviation, military, car, marine and other homegrown applications. The various reinforcements with Aluminium metal matrix composites by powder metallurgy procedure brings about improved mechanical properties, for example, ultimate tensile strength, compressive strength, hardness, wear rate. Powder metallurgy is an ideal technique for manufacture for MMCs on account of the capacity to create close to net shapes and minimal material waste related with this cycle. In this paper, an endeavour has been made to unite a portion of the parts of mechanical properties of Aluminium MMCs manufactured by utilizing Powder Metallurgy Technique. Titanium Ti-Al-Nb is titanium-aluminum-niobium alloy which is commonly used in biomedical applications. However, because this is a difficult-to-cut material, cutting conditions and parameters must be thoroughly investigated in order to ensure component quality. Because minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) has been identified as a technologically possible strategy for improving the machinability of particular titanium alloys, the objective of this study is to compare the effects of MQL on the hole quality and tool vibration of titanium Ti-6Al-7Nb with the dry cutting condition. Drilling experiments were conducted to assess hole quality and vibration when drilling Titanium bar using carbide coated drills. The obtained findings show that MQL improves hole quality, resulting in better surface holes and reduced titanium burr formation under the MQL condition. Furthermore, tool vibration may be decreased under all tool wear and cutting parameter conditions. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Convolutional neural network-related applications have now been developed on a variety of platforms, including CPUs, GPUs, and others, but most of them sacrificed energy consumption to achieve good performance. Therefore, in recent years, more and more hot spots have shifted to how to achieve related applications such as low energy consumption research methods. In order to make the steel surface defect detection system meet the requirements of real-time detection, this article proposes that VGG16 is used as the main network to complete the design of the FPGA's rapid detection and identification system for the FPGA. This system conducts software and hard-hard design based on the ZYNQ-7000 platform (1) The design of parallelization of convolution on the PL side The hardware acceleration is achieved by accelerating the data flow design. Each IP core accelerated with the PL end. (2) In the method of quantifying the data, in the case of almost little loss of data accuracy, the use of resources on FPGA films has been greatly reduced to achieve acceleration of algorithms. The final experimental results show that compared with the CPU, this algorithm has increased by 6 times. The power consumption ratio of the CPU platform and the FPGA platform is 12.6, and the power consumption ratio of the GPU platform and the FPGA platform is 38.2, which is more suitable for applications on the embedded platform. © 2023 SPIE.

Fe-Al alloy has excellent oxidation resistance and has a good application prospect in high-temperature environments. Its oxidation resistance mainly comes from the Al2O3 oxide film on the surface, and the Fe/Al2O3 interface is the weakest link between the oxide film and the substrate. With the development of computational materials science, using first-principles calculations to study the Fe/Al2O3 interface has gradually become a research topic of concern. According to the different construction methods of the Fe/Al2O3 interface, the existing theoretical models of Fe/Al2O3 interface structure are divided into three categories: γ3-Fe/α-Al2O3 interface model, α-Fe/α-Al2O3 interface model and other Fe/Al2O3 interface models. Their characteristics are compared and analyzed. The latest research results of Fe/Al2O3 interface optimization measures and strengthening mechanisms are listed, and a summary of how alloying elements affect the ability of Fe/Al2O3 interface bonding is provided. The study of strengthening mechanisms can lead to better design of interfaces for new materials and thus improve material properties. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In this study, the Incremental Sheet Metal Forming (ISMF) simulation was conducted using Abaqus 6.13 software for SUS 304 sheet material at elevated temperature. The Taguchi experimental method was applied to investigate the impact of three technological parameters, namely part temperature (T) ranging from 100 to 400 °C, the step in the z direction of the tool (z) ranging from 0.2 to 0.5 mm, and tool diameter (D) ranging from 6 to 12 mm, on the forming angle. A regression equation was developed to predict the forming angle based on these input parameters. The results showed that temperature (T) had a significant effect on the forming angle, whereas the influence of tool diameter (D) was the least significant. The simulation predicted the largest forming angle to be 76.08°. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Polyetheretherketone (PEEK), a biocompatibility tested material is rapidly gaining popularity in the medical implants industry. Hence, the investigation and understanding of the fracture properties of PEEK have garnered significant interest and importance. computational simulations offer a cost-effective alternative to experimental studies while also providing valuable physical insights that may be challenging to obtain only through traditional experimental methods. This work aims to understand the fracture of the PEEK biomaterial due to presence of existing circular discontinuities in a geometry by using a variational formulation of an energy-based approach known as phase-field method (PFM). The formulation is briefly discussed and is applied to two common loading conditions in a square geometry having a circular hole with varying hole diameter. Further, geometries containing existing edge cracks and cracks associated with circular hole are also simulated. The method is validated by comparing results with existing literature. The results are analysed and the employability of the proposed method is discussed with an emphasis on biomedical applications. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

This research focuses on design and experimentally testing of a sealing component featuring magneto-rheological fluid for rotary shafts. The working fluid is a lubricant. From review of previous researches on application of MR fluid in sealing, a configuration of a rotary MRF seal for a working lubricant is proposed. Optimal design and modeling of the MRF seal are then realized based on finite element analysis. From optimal results, MRF seal prototypes are manufactured and experimentally tested. Understanding the basic mechanics behind binary brainwaves and Bayesian frameworks is crucial for decoding the intricate inner workings of human cognition. In this research, we provide a game-changing method that integrates Bayesian Neural Networks (BNNs), Hidden Markov Models (HMMs), and Probabilistic Graphical Models (PGMs) to provide a holistic understanding of such intricate systems. The acronym for this strategy is 'BNNiPGM,' which stands for Bayesian Neural Networks Integrated Probabilistic Graphical Model. We compared the proposed method to six alternatives and report our results using many types of visual displays. The findings show that the proposed approach excels over existing methods in a number of respects, including temporal and spatial resolution, prediction accuracy, computational complexity, model interpretability, and generalization capability. Scatter plots, pie charts, histograms, and box plots are only some of the graphical representations used in the study, each of which presents the performance comparison in its own unique manner. Based on the scatter plots' findings, it's clear that the proposed technique outperforms the two more common methods. Pie charts may be used to visually display the majority of the total points for the proposed approach. Histograms show that the performance of the proposed technique has a larger than normal distribution of high scores and a smaller than normal distribution of low scores. The box plots further demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method. By laying the groundwork for further research into the probabilistic features of binary brainwaves and Bayesian frameworks, this study contributes to the disciplines of artificial intelligence and neuroscience.
