Wire and arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) technology is quite impressive and investigated in the last 30 years of development. It fascinates the scientists and manufacturers as it can produce densely deposited metal parts, and the objects produced are almost similar to the desired one. It is a process that includes the deposition of material layer-by-layer. It is gaining importance at a very fast pace as manufacturing industries find it cost- and time-efficient. Here, in this review paper, the mechanism of WAAM techniques, its type, and various components produced by WAAM have been discussed. It also includes the discussion on different surface deposit properties and microstructural properties of the products produced by WAAM. The flow characteristics of high-density endothermic hydrocarbon fuel during heat absorption process is of great significance for the development of regenerative cooling technology, which is considered as one of the most efficient methods for thermal management in hypersonic vehicles. The flow characteristics of hydrocarbon fuels in sub/trans/supercritical change engineering are difficult to predict. In order to study the flow characteristics of heated hydrocarbon fuels, an experimental system was set up to measure mass flow rate, fuel temperature and fuel pressure. The experimental results show that the fuel experiences the liquid, liquid-like and vapor-like states with the continuing heat absorption of fuel when the injection pressure is over critical pressure. As the fuel temperature goes up, the mass flow rate decreases gradually in the subcritical liquid zone and supercritical gasified zone, and it presents a sudden drop in the transcritical zone. The predicted formulas of mass flow rate for EHF-851 are proposed base on the divisions of phase change within a reasonable error range. The traditional empirical formula for liquid fuel is appropriate for the mass flow rate prediction in liquid subcritical zone and "liquid-like" transcritical zone, while the numerical isentropic acceleration method is suitable for the gasified supercritical zone and "vapor-like" transcritical zone. © The Institution of engineering & Technology 2023.

Concrete prefabrication techniques have been popularized and utilized in building construction industry for years. To further improve the construction efficiency and quality for low-rise buildings, a prestressed hollow core wall system is proposed. Nonlinear mechanical behaviors of such a structural system are strongly determined by the occurrence timing and order of splitting and sliding of joints as well as cracking of concrete wall panels. In this paper, a detailed finite element model was developed in ANSYS to provide a tool for investigating the seismic behaviors of prestressed hollow core wall structures. Contact elements were applied to simulate the interaction between material interfaces. Techniques including coupling of degrees of freedom of overlapped nodes and deactivation of concrete elements were adopted, along with restart analysis to simulate nonlinear mechanical behaviors of the structural system. The developed modeling method was verified by experimental test results and was shown to accurately predict the global and local behaviors such as failure modes and load bearing capacities of precast hollow core walls. Pros and cons of the proposed simulation method were summarized, and suggestions were provided so as to improve the accuracy and versatility of this method to predict the global seismic behaviors of prestressed hollow core wall structures. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The customer is the essential channel partner of all supply chain, and the customer service quality is utmost important to maintain this channel partner. In this paper, various factors affecting the service quality of customers have been identified and ranked with the help of two approaches of multi-objective optimization based on the ratio analysis (MOORA) method. MOORA is a relatively new technique of multi-criteria decision making for the ranking of various factors. Results show that by using both these approaches final ranking for the most and least important factor is the same. The results of MOORA were compared by using WASPAS. The main reason for identifying and analyzing these factors is to let the researchers and industrials have explicit knowledge of different factors which affect the service quality of customers. Sign language detection using LSTM is a rapidly evolving research area that focuses on developing intelligent systems capable of interpreting sign language gestures. This study proposes a deep learning approach to detect sign language gestures by using Long Short- Term Memory (LSTM) networks. The proposed system first extracts features from sign language videos and then feeds them to an LSTM network for classification. The LSTM model learns the temporal dependencies in the data and accurately identifies sign language gestures. experimental results indicate that the proposed method achieved an accuracy rate of 94% on the American Sign Language (ASL) dataset and 90% on the Turkish Sign Language (TSL) dataset, outperforming other state-of-the-art methods. The proposed approach also shows robustness against varying lighting conditions and camera viewpoints. We will be employing Media pipe framework to recognize faces and landmarks which will then enable us to recognize and predict sign language symbols effectively. This study presents a promising approach for sign language detection using LSTM, which has the potential to significantly enhance communication between hearing-impaired individuals and the rest of the population. The proposed approach can be further improved by incorporating additional data augmentation techniques and other deep learning architectures. © 2023 IEEE.

An axial-flow compressor (AFC) will be the flow that enters the compressor in the axial direction and exits from the axial direction and in the gas turbine. The AFC compresses its attempting liquid by initial accelerating the liquid and then dispersing it to acquire a pressure expansion. Presently examination and developmental deliberations in the region of AFC for gas turbine application have been intended to enhancing its operating range without sacrificing effectiveness. An increment in aspect ratio is noticed to have an adverse impact on the execution of single-stage flow compressors. In this manuscript, AFC is planned and simulated in 3D designing software Pro/E. The current patterns get changed on varying aspect ratios. The current work utilized chromium steel, which could be substituted by nickel and titanium alloy. Full compressor methods with steel, nickel and titanium alloy are used for structural testing to validate compressor strength using finite element analysis using software Ansys. State of Stress at a point P in a stressed material in two-dimensional stress systems is said to be known if normal and shear stresses can be obtained on any plane passing through that point. Therefore, if Mohr’s Stress Circle can be uniquely constructed from the given information, it is said that the state of stress is completely known, and normal and shear stresses on any plane passing through that point can be obtained. Usually, in a 2-D system, the stresses are prescribed on two planes that are mutually perpendicular or inclined at any other angle and the construction of Mohr’s Stress Circle is easy. However, in some cases, stresses are partially known on three planes.
