Steady-state experimental and computational studies on a lambda planform low sweep MULti-DIsciplinary CONfiguration (MULDICON) Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV) configuration with 53° blunt leading-edge sweep are presented. The experiments were carried out in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Low-Speed wind Tunnel (UTM-LST), and the computational work was done using Ansys Fluent. The flow visualisation for experimental and computational was performed at 30 m/s corresponding to the Reynolds number of 4.50E+05, for the angle of attack, α = 5°, 10°, 15°, 20°. Surface flow visualisation results confirmed the onset and progression of flow separation for low sweep lambda wing configuration. The experimental and the computational results demonstrated that the low sweep MULDICON wing lambda configuration is encountered with highly complex and nonlinear aerodynamic flow behaviour. Especially at high angle of attack (AOA), such as leading-edge vortices separation, vortex breakdown (suggested by strong shear layer region behind the leading-edge vortex) and shear layer reattachment that increases with the incidence increase. The computational results compared well to the experimental flow visualisation results. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In the new era, the development of composite materials and alloy is very demanding for the fulfilment of the present demand of industries and society. The thermal analysis of composite materials and alloy is requiring its thermal properties like thermal conductivity, specific heat, etc. before their uses. The main focus of this research work is to study the effect of different parameters on the thermal conductivity of composite material and alloy based upon the experimental and analytical data available in the literature. Furthermore, a different method of finding the thermal conductivity of composite materials and alloy like finite element method, finite volume method, statistical model, non-conventional laser flash technique, machine learning method, spatially varying relaxation parameter lattice Boltzman method using melting process, equivalent inclusion method, hot plate method cut bar method, etc. also has been presented in this work. The machine learning method is a very fast, accurate and efficient method for predicting the conductivity of composites and alloy. From the intensive studies, it was found that temperature, particle size, density of materials and composition are generally affecting the thermal conductivity of composite materials. Furthermore, it was found that conductivity of composites material increases with an increase in the composition of filler material and a decrease in particle size of the filler. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The design, construction, and operation of high earth dams located in seismically active zones of the Republic Uzbekistan require constant improvement of the computational methods for their calculation to predict the loss of strength (formation of cracks, loss of slope stability, etc.). In the current normative method to calculate hydro-technical structures for seismic effects, a cantilever rod is considered;this method does not allow taking into account the non-one-dimensional nature of the oscillation and the real physical and mechanical characteristics of soil of the structure and foundation. The assessment of the dynamic stress–strain state of high earth dams under seismic action within the wave theory is the most difficult problem in mechanics. This article presents a mathematical formulation for the numerical solution of a non-stationary problem for an earth dam with a foundation in a plane elastic statement. The problem of studying the stress state of the high Charvak earth dam under shear dynamic impact on the foundation (in the form of a seismogram) was solved by the numerical method of finite differences. So-called radiation conditions were set at the boundaries of the studied finite domain of the foundation. The solution is represented as a distribution of lines of equal displacements, stresses over the dam body depending on time. At that, the most vulnerable zones of the considered earth dam were identified. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Covered composites have different preferences over customary materials, for example, high explicit solidness and lightweight. The significant disadvantage is a shortcoming of boundaries among contiguous films, known as the de-lamination phenomenon. Because of de-lamination, a disappointment for the structure of composite can be seen because of the impacts of bury laminar burdens developed, that is once overlapped composites are exposed to outrageous temperatures. If the unforeseen difference in material properties of the covered composite structure is anticipated these issues can be decreased. along with specific bearings in a controllable manner, the individual material organization differs consistently practically reviewed material (FGM) is that sort of material. Consequently, this article presents the limited component displaying and examination of practically reviewed (FG) shell structures under various stacking, for example, mechanical and warm. Moreover, the introduction of investigation of free vibration of structure of FG circular shell. Further, various kinds of shells are considered to contemplate the impacts of significant boundaries on the reactions of FG shell structures. The reactions were acquired for standardized shells of unadulterated metal (EN 31 steel) shells and FG Functionally graded shells which are contrasted. The paper presents an algorithm and results of calculating the compressibility coefficient of fluid-saturated porous media based on data of the direct mathematical simulation of the deformation process in the elastic isothermal regime. We consider the direct mathematical simulation procedure as an implementation of an iterative algorithm for solving a multiphysics problem in which the closure of the computational fluid dynamics and mechanics blocks is performed using interface conjugation conditions with respect to the Cauchy stress tensor. computational schemes of non-conforming finite-element methods have been applied to discretize the mathematical models. The dependence of the compressibility coefficient in the porous medium on the applied external mechanical pressure and fluid saturation of the pore space is shown. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) supported medicinal image examination is extensively accepted due to its reputation and improved accuracy. The investigational outcome obtained with DLS along with a chosen classifier helps to achieve better detection results than the traditional and machine-learning methods. The proposed research examines the performance of pre-trained VGG16 and VGG19 schemes in detecting the brain tumour (Glioma/Glioblastoma) grade using different pooling methods. The classification is performed using SoftMax with five-fold cross-validation, and the products are compared and presented. The brain tumour images considered in this study are collected from The Cancer Imaging Archive (TCIA) dataset. This work considered 2000 images (1000 Glioma and 1000 Glioblastoma) of axial-plane with dimension of 224×224×3 pixels for the assessment, and the attained results are compared. The experimental outcome achieved with Python® confirms that the VGG16 with average-pooling provides a better classification accuracy (>99%) with Decision Tree (DT) compared with other methods considered. © 2022 IEEE.

Solar-powered dryers are still expensive and difficult to obtain for farmers with medium to low production capacity. For this reason, it is necessary to develop technology on a solar-powered dryer with a solar panel capacity of 200WP is equipped with a maximum power point tracker as an integrated solar collector with a photovoltaic system. The system in this solar-powered dryer consists of a solar panel tracker, a rotating aluminum cylinder net, a photovoltaic tracker, a battery bank, a microcontroller, and a DC/AC inverter. This system improves the performance of solar panels in the drying process of Moringa leaves. This design is expect to be the right system to ensure maximum results by providing solar radiation energy in the drying process of agricultural products. The aims goal to minimize problems in the drying of agricultural products experienced by farmers using an automatic dual-energy solar-powered dryer as a development innovation for the drying process. This study uses an experimental methodology and field data collection using a solar-powered dryer that has been analyzed and measured to obtain data comparisons. shows the maximum data of voltage and power response in positioning photovoltaic to produce the increased output power of photovoltaic array. Maximum application of powerpoint tracker on microcontroller based dual energy solar powered dryer on solar panels for drying moringa leaves produces the advantage of maximum energy absorption in solar panels and shortens the time in the drying process of moringa leaves. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

This article proposes an adaptive-learning method to teach system dynamic and control engineering courses for mechanical-engineering students. System dynamics and control engineering courses provide both theoretical lectures and practical experiments. Tower cranes offer experimental platform for implementation of dynamics and control systems. The corresponding curriculum including homework, simulations, labs, and advanced study, are also reported. The academic staff dynamically presented educational instruction on both theoretical lecture and laboratory exercises for individual students. The personalized education helps students to improve theoretical and practical experiences. The student survey demonstrated the effectiveness and validity of presented methods. The article is devoted to constructing fundamental solutions to the dynamic equations of a thin isotropic plate, which lies on Pasternak's elastic foundation. The corresponding differential equations are obtained based on the classical small-deflection theory of thin plates. In solving applied problems, technical theory is the most widespread since it allows for the correct solutions for a wide class of real problems, such as thin plate theory. This model allows for the simplifying of mathematical formulations considerably and the carrying out of investigations by analytical methods. The method of fundamental solutions is an effective method for solving equations of the theory of plates in partial derivatives in the case of action on a body of static and dynamic loads of different natures. The constructed fundamental solutions are of independent interest as solutions to problems about the action on a plate. The presence of appropriate fundamental solutions makes it possible to significantly simplify the study of the response of a plate to local loads distributed over a certain area. The fundamental solutions are the basis for the method of boundary integral equations, which reduces the problem's dimensionality by one and does not require discretization of the whole domain. This approach increases the efficiency of solving a whole class of applied problems in mechanics. The algorithm proposed in the work for constructing fundamental solutions of plate dynamics is based on the joint use of Fourier and Laplace integral transforms and the theory of special hypergeometric functions. The described technique can be easily extended to the case of material anisotropy, the construction of fundamental solutions to the theory of thin shells, and the case of considering some physical properties of the environment in the model.
