Improvements in illness diagnosis made possible by combining AI with biochip technology. It highlights the use of AI to improve the sensitivity and efficiency of biochips, allowing for faster and more precise illness diagnosis. Current healthcare uses of biochips are discussed, as well as artificial intelligence methods that may be used to the processing of biochip data. Through a variety of case studies, it shows how AI may be used for real-world tasks including early detection of cancer and other diseases through its capacity to analyze complicated data and perform predictive analysis. Data privacy, ethical considerations, and the need for extensive datasets to train AI are all discussed in the study as well as other obstacles to integrating AI with biochips. Furthermore, the legal implications of implementing new healthcare technology are covered. Future research options are suggested, with an emphasis on the importance of multidisciplinary cooperation and the possible effect of AI in biochip design.

The generation of epicyclic gear trains (EGTs) by application of graph theory has a major focus by researchers to avoid duplicity of mechanisms as well as topological structural and synthesis analysis. This paper presents the generation of EGTs with one degree of freedom up to eight links. The method has been formulated on the basis of conventional graphs, the graphs converted into adjacency matrices and then, obtained wiener number for structural synthesis and isomorphic property. The results obtained by this method have been fully satisfied with references. © 2020 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

This paper presents a novel real-time 6-DoF object pose estimation framework leveraging template iteration combined with RGB information. By integrating object detection, template matching, and pose refinement techniques, the proposed approach constructs a pose estimation network characterized by strong generalization capabilities, real-time performance, and high accuracy. Traditional RGB-based 6-DoF pose estimation methods typically rely on computing the residual between rendered images of coarsely estimated poses and the input query images. However, due to the lack of sufficient 3D structural information, these methods often exhibit poor generalization to unseen objects. In this paper, we propose a 3D feature set-based pose iterative network that eliminates the need for rendering images on the input pose, thus enabling pose estimation without CAD models. Initially, object detection algorithms are employed to identify objects within the scene, followed by template matching to determine the initial pose. Subsequently, the pose iterative network is designed to refine the initial pose, achieving higher estimation accuracy. To ensure real-time performance, model pruning techniques are utilized to compress the pose iterative network, significantly reducing computational complexity while maintaining estimation accuracy. experimental results demonstrate that our method exhibits robust generalization capability, real-time performance, and high accuracy across various scenarios, providing an efficient and reliable pose estimation solution for robotic vision and automation. © 2024 IEEE.

Automatic detection of the locomotion mode is crucial in many applications, such as designing controller for exoskeleton robots and other assistive devices. Among the available methods and sensors for detecting locomotion type, inertial measurement units (IMU) have found increasing applications, due to their small size, ease of use, needing no special preparation, and portability. This study performs a statistical analysis to optimize the placement of IMU sensors and determine the minimum number of inputs required for the automatic classification of locomotion type. The k-nearest neighbor algorithm (kNN) is chosen as the classifier and a Taguchi U16 orthogonal experimental design is used to evaluate the effect of different factors on the accuracy of the classification. Quaternion data, acceleration magnitude, and gyroscope magnitude from thigh-mounted and shank-mounted IMUs are considered as the input factors in the Taguchi design. A simple cost function is used to incorporate both the classification error and the number of inputs. The implemented cost function includes a weighting term to identify the optimal number of inputs based on the required level of accuracy. When considering equal weights for the classification error and the number of inputs, the Taguchi analysis ranks the quaternion data, acceleration magnitude, and gyroscope magnitude as the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd order of importance, respectively. For our specific application, a weighting value of 0.6 is used to give slightly more emphasis to the accuracy of the locomotion mode detection. The optimal combination reduces the number of inputs from 12 to 6, while maintaining an acceptable accuracy level of 76.4 percent. This is only slightly lower than the 79.5 percent accuracy achieved when all of the 12 inputs are used. Furthermore, results indicated that the shank-mounted IMU had a greater impact on the classifier's accuracy compared to the thigh-mounted IMU. © 2023 IEEE.

In the context of engineering education, to improve the practical engineering skills of engineering students, the teaching ideas and implementation methods of the curriculum are designed based on Outcome-based Education. A blended teaching approach was used to design the implementation process to achieve the curriculum objectives. In this paper, we explain the process of blended teaching from the two aspects of basic knowledge and competency training. Active learning of basic knowledge is implemented based on a three-step blended teaching model before, after, and during classes. It adopts the project-driven learning approach of the flipped classroom model and cultivates students' ability to solve complex engineering problems through collaborative group and intra-group mutual assessment. Based on the original objective assessment of the curriculum and under the current teaching model, we design a diversified evaluation approach to comprehensively assess the effectiveness of student competence achievement. Practice has shown that project-based inquiry-based teaching methods based on the flipped classroom model can promote learning outcomes for students and increase their interest in learning. It avoids the blind and aimless theoretical learning process of the student and improves the practical ability of the student. The methods and means of instruction of teachers have been further extended, and the ability of students to learn independently has been improved.

As fossils fuels are depleting at a faster rate and from the standpoint of the environmental concept, it is necessary to use alternative sources of energy that could replace fossils fuels in existing engines. Dual fuel engines are economically attractive replacement for traditional diesel engines or obsolete diesel engines with slight variation in engine design. Furthermore, this engine suffers from inferior performance, slow-burning rate and higher levels of carbon monoxide and un-burnt hydrocarbons at lower loads. Various engine experts have also found an increased delay period and knocking tendency while exploring dual-fuel engines. Because of the accompanying reasons, numerous scientists have discovered a different strategy for the substitution of diesel, one of which is the utilization of biofuel as an enhancement for diesel fuel. World over there is growing trends for the generation of bioCNG with proper management of organic waste. The extraction of power from biogas (bioCNG) under dual fuel mode has risen as a potential vitality transporter to address the environmental issue associated with the compression ignition (CI) engine. This review significantly focused on the utilization of gaseous fuel (bioCNG) to CI diesel engine under dual fuel mode with diesel and diesel–biodiesel blend as pilot fuel. Different engine characteristics, such as ignition, performance and exhalations of the dual-fuel engine utilizing gaseous fuels have been gathered and assessed. Findings of various literature suggest that CI engine performance in dual fuel mode slightly deteriorates but the corresponding reduction in harmful pollutants occurs with the introduction of gaseous fuel. Overall, it can be concluded that utilizing bioCNG in pilot diesel and diesel–biodiesel blend results in improved performance with reduced exhalations at higher loads. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In today's environment, we all rely on web applications. The number of web application users is growing by the day. Most organizations use databases to hold data about their users or information about the services they provide. Structured Query Language is frequently used for database communication. During a SQL Injection attack, the attacker runs a malicious SQL statement on the database. Since SQL injection can be used to alter database values, wipe out the entire database, and steal database content, it poses a serious security risk. Attackers can acquire unauthorized access to the entire database by using SQL injection. SQL Injection attacks are feasible when a web application fails to check or filter user- entered input. SQL injection threats are both detected and analyzed using machine learning methods such as naive Bayes, Gradient Boosting, Support Vector Machine, Decision Tree, and Convolution Neural Network.

Zonal isolation is critical to ensure safety of wellbore. Cements mechanical property tests are necessary to evaluate the zonal isolation. In the past, the mechanical properties of intact specimens had been used to predict the failure of cement sheath. However, low displacement efficiency, gas channeling, perforating and fracturing may lead to uneven surfaces or cracks of cement sheath after setting. In order to evaluate the long-term integrity of cement sheath with cracks, the fracture toughness evaluation methods of cements are introduced in this study. Four kinds of methods are adopted to evaluate the fracture toughness of cements, including CSTBD (cracked straight through Brazilian disc), CCNBD (cracked chevron notched Brazilian disc), SCBD (semicircular bending disc), and SENB (Single edge notched bending). The experiments are divided into size effect experiment and repeatability experiment to determine the influence of different specimen shapes on the results. The findings demonstrate a positive correlation between the specimen size and their fracture toughness, indicating an increase in fracture toughness as the size of cements increases. Among the four methods, CSTBD has the lowest size effect and the best repeatability. Thus the most fitting evaluation specimen for measuring the fracture toughness of the oil well cements is the CSTBD. Four types of cement formulations were examined to assess the suitability of fracture toughness assessment techniques, including basic cement slurry, elastic cement slurry, fiber cement slurry and low density cement slurry. The result shows that the fiber can increase the fracture toughness. The method recommended in this study could be used to evaluate the fracture toughness of cements and provide basic parameters for numerical simulation. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

The two performance indexes of output displacement and inherent frequency are closely related to the design variables of the micro-motion platform. To address the problem that the design variables have certain fluctuations and the high nonlinearity between the design variables and the performance of the micro-motion platform, a multi-objective robust optimization method with high computational efficiency and high fitting accuracy is proposed. Based on the kriging agent model, the high-precision approximate functions of the key design variables with the output displacement and the inherent frequency are established by the Latin hypercube experimental design, respectively. With the maximum stress as the constraint, Monte Carlo simulation, 6σ robust design concept, and nondominated sorting genetic algorithm II (NSGA-II) multi-objective genetic algorithm are integrated to optimize the structure of the micro-motorized platform. The results show that compared with the traditional deterministic optimization method, the 6σ robust design considering parameter uncertainty effectively reduces the fluctuation of the performance of the micromotion platform and improves the resistance of the platform performance to disturbance under uncertainty. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
