Diabetic retinopathy is an eye disease, is a condition in which retina is damaged due to diabetes mellitus. It is a major cause of blindness. Although many artificial intelligence methods has been applied to diabetic retinopathy diagnosis. This method is a new approach in this problem domain. It's early detection can help in tackling the future damages due to the disease. Here, model is ensemble of pre-existing GoogleNet, AlexNet and ResNet50 architectures. The best machine learning models that were used was GoogLeNet achieving highest accuracy for this job. Here, The results are standing out with the GoogLeNet's accuracy.

Traffic congestion and occlusions are major problems nowadays in metropolitan cities which leads to an ever growing traffic accidents. Therefore, the need of traffic flux management in order to avoid these congestions, unnecessary time wastage and tragic accidents is very important. Traffic regulation by optimizing timing of traffic control signals is one of the solutions for this purpose. This paper presents a low cost camera based algorithm in order to control traffic flow on a road. The algorithm is based on mainly three steps: vehicle detection, counting and tracking. Background subtraction is used to isolate vehicles from their background, Kalman filter is used to track the vehicles and Hungarian algorithm is exploited for association of labels to the tracked vehicles. This algorithm is implemented on both daytime and night time videos acquiered from CCTV camera and IR camera. Experimental results show the efficacy of the algorithm.

Setting up computervision quality control tasks in a robot workcell is expensive, time consuming, and often requires expert knowledge. In this work, a highly adaptable approach to mitigate this issue is introduced. First, an ontology of atomic building blocks is defined, where each block represents one computervision algorithm. Second, these blocks are used to generate a complex graph structure. The generation follows a set of rules, which can be shown to the inexperienced worker as a list of simple questions. Afterwards, this graph can be refined. Finally, the graph is integrated into the robotic assembly sequence, and the visual quality control procedure can be executed. Two industrial use cases show the feasibility of this approach. Thus, this work leverages computervision aided quality control tasks in robot workcells.

This paper introduces a vision-based dynamic positioning (DP) control system and develops a hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) platform to validate the performance of the controller applied to a work-class remotely operated vehicle (ROV). The proposed platform consists of three main parts: hardware, imageprocessing part and controller. The hardware included a calibrated camera that was connected to a dedicated computer via USB 2.0. In the imageprocessing part after pre-processing a circular Hough transform was used to detect and determine the position of the target in the image plane. Furthermore, this paper proposed a feedforward proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller. To evaluate the performance of the proposed controller, two scenarios were implemented. In the first scenario, the target was considered stationary and a disturbance was applied to the ROV in the simulation environment. In the second scenario, the target object has moved along a rectangular path, and the objective was to stabilize the ROV at the desired points. In both scenarios, the reference signal was acquired by a calibrated camera from the target and sent to the controller. The results showed the desirable performance of the proposed controller.

The artificial intelligence aspects of computervision make LISP appropriate for some vision research needs. An experimental image understanding system has been implemented in MACLISP. Since MACLISP supports arrays and compiles into reasonably efficient code, it has been convenient for the project. The major subsystems are preprocessing, region growing, feature computation, and control. A novel aspect of the system is its control structure which consists of a ″task agenda″ which is processed by procedures each based on heuristics relevant to image analysis. processing one task may create other tasks and the system is designed to suggest alternatives during the course of analyzing an image. Tasks are ordered by their heuristically-computed ″priority″ values. The system has been applied to the problem of segmenting aerial photographs of an airport. Design issues and possible extensions for further work are discussed.

The chosen font type in the license plate (LP) plays a vital role in the recognition phase in computer-based operations. Some fonts are challenging for humans to read;however, other fonts are challenging for computer systems to recognize. Here, we present two sets of results for font evaluation: font anatomy results, and recognition results for commercial products. For anatomy results, two typical LP fonts are considered: Mandatory, and Driver Gothic. Moreover, we evaluate the effect of these fonts in context for two datasets using two commercial products: OpenALPR and Plate Recognizer. The font anatomy results revealed some important confusion cases and some quality features of both fonts. The obtained results show that the Driver font has less severe confusion cases than the Mandatory font.
