In the past few years, silkworm cocoon image detection has been artificially degenerated, and it is the focus of recent years for how to use mechanized large-scale detection of cocoon mass. In the research, machine vision, as a detection method, is applied in silkworm cocoon detection; and the acquired silk cocoon image is processed and analyzed through the methods of binarization, machine vision, and LabVIEW. Recently, it is very popular to convert image or video to different format. For example, copy a color printed paper to gray scale paper or show video with different devices. This paper proposes a fast removable watermark generating method. The watermark disappears after the watermarked image converts to another format. As a gray image can be generated from different color images with same converting approach, the goal of this paper has been achieved. An example shows that it is possible to create recoverable contour style watermark by control hue and saturation properly. A vision quality optimum approach also presented. The advantages of proposed method includes the recover image is identical to the converted image without watermark, people can remove the watermark without computer or the computational cost is very low. The result of this paper is useful for secret removing or demo video transmitting.

In machine vision, imageprocessing technology is the basis of target recognition and positioning. When the background of the image is complex, especially when the background feature is similar to the target feature, the accuracy of the target recognition by traditional imageprocessing methods cannot be guaranteed. In this paper, based on the background of automatic welding technology, proposing a new method of combining the neural networks and machine vision. Specifically, the image is preprocessed by using an improved convolutional auto-encoder to enhance the target features and remove the characteristics of the main interferers. Then, use the improved traditional imageprocessing technology to extract the target and complete the processing of the featureless image. Finally, use a binocular camera to achieve accurate positioning of the target. This paper provides a new idea for the identification and positioning of the target.

This paper presents usage of convolutional neural network for classification of sign language numeral gestures. For requirements of this research, we created a new dataset of these gestures. The dataset was recorded via Kinect v2 device and it consists of recordings of 18 different people. Only depth data-stream was used in our research. For a classification task, there was utilized classic VGG16 architecture and its results were compared with chosen baseline method and other tested architectures. Our experiment on classification showed the great potential of neural networks for this task. We reached recognition accuracy 86.45%, which is by more than 34% better result than chosen baseline method.

According to gestalt psychology theory, the human brain merges and simplifies unrelated units by some relations through eyes for subsequent cognition. We introduce a new segmentation framework based on gestalt psychology in this paper. An input image is first divided into visual patches using two gestalt principles, similarity and proximity, by a clustering method, and then the visual patches are grouped to form soft tissues by a classification step using the spatial relationship and texture features. We evaluated the proposed method using TCIA database at both sectional level and volumetric level. The experimental results demonstrated the efficiency and robustness of the presented method and indicated its promising applications in the field of medical imageprocessing.
