Scene classification systems have become an integral part of computer vision. Recent developments have seen the use of deep scene networks based on convolutional neural networks (CNN), trained using millions of images to classify scenes into various categories. This paper proposes the use of one such pre-trained network to classify specific scene categories. The pre-trained network is combined with the simple classifiers namely, random forest and extra tree classifiers to classify scenes into 8 different scene categories. Also, the effect of different color spaces such as RGB, YCbCr, CIEL*a*b* and HSV on the performance of the proposed CNN based scene classification system is analyzed based on the classification accuracy. In addition to this, various intensity planes extracted from the said color spaces coupled with color-to-gray image conversion techniques such as weighted average, and singular value decomposition (SVD) are also taken into consideration and their effects on the performance of the proposed CNN based scene classification system are also analyzed based on the classification accuracy. The experiments are conducted on the standard Oliva Torralba (OT) scene data set which comprises of 8 classes. The analysis of classification accuracy obtained for the experiments conducted on OT scene data shows that the different color spaces and the intensity planes extracted from various color spaces and color-to-gray image conversion techniques do affect the performance of proposed CNN based scene classification system.

Objects shape analysis, tracking, retrieval, matching, recognition, registration and compression, skeletonization technique provides a compact representation. It enables efficient assessment of local object properties such as scale, orientation, topology and so on. This paper proposes a new skeletonization algorithm for gray scale 2-D images. The proposed algorithm is based on repeatedly conditionally eroding the gray pixel values in the image until a one pixel thick skeleton is obtained. Erosion conditions are framed to preserve the connectivity. Initial experiments show that the proposed algorithm produces a comparatively good quality of skeletons for different shapes which are encountered in many real time applications such as computer vision. Results of applying this algorithm for a variety of images are encouraging.

3D tracking plays a vital role in 3D applications by enhancing interaction between real and virtual world. We present various real-time 3D motion estimation approaches developed in photogrammetry and computer vision fields and compare their performance. The methods developed in both fields estimates 3D motion of a moving object relative to a camera or equivalently moving camera relative to the object in an image sequence when its corresponding features are known at different times. We reviewed 3D motion models formulated by different methods related to their geometric properties. We implemented four different methods and analyzed their performance results. Comparison from test datasets from image sequences demonstrated that homography based approaches in both fields were more accurate than relative orientation or essential matrix based approaches under noisy situations.

Road way forms are one of the most commonly used modes of transports. It is very important to follow and monitor the Traffic rules to control the flow of traffic and to avoid road accidents. According to a survey, In India, more than 150,000 people are killed each year in traffic accidents. That's about 400 fatalities a day and far higher than in other countries. Government must take effective measures to control the road accidents. One of the main reasons for accidents is improper monitoring of traffic. In this project, we have come up with traffic rules monitoring system which helps in faster and easier monitoring. This system is very useful in countries like India due to its population. Traffic police gets right to halt any vehicle, if any cause and check the documents manually. It is very hard for a citizen to carry all his documents every time. In the given proposed system, all the process is automated and a proper database can be maintained to track the driver records regarding traffic rule violation. It also helps in detection of the unlicensed drivers, drunken drivers and allows fingerprint payment. In case of heavy traffic roads, the license plate number of those vehicles crossing the rules is detected automatically and later the penalty is collected from the automobile owner. A message is also sent to the driver from database including details about the number times he/she violated traffic rules so far and the penalty amount. This system may be further developed for toll payments for highway traffic. © 2018 IEEE.

Multi-join query optimization is an important technique for designing and implementing database manage system. It is a crucial factor that affects the capability of database. This paper proposes a new algorithm to solve the problem of multi-join query optimization based on parallel ant colony optimization. In this paper, details of the algorithm used to solve multi-join query optimization problem have been interpreted, including how to define heuristic information, how to implement local pheromone update and global pheromone update and how to design state transition rule. After repeated iteration, a reasonable solution is obtained. Compared with genetic algorithm, the simulation result indicates that parallel ant colony optimization is more effective and efficient.

Instantaneous frequency is a primary parameter used for analyzing vibration signals of rolling bearings under harsh working conditions, which contains rich information besides the rotating speeds of the shaft. Such vibration signals exhibits characteristics of non-stationary and multi-components. The generalized demodulation time-frequency analysis approach is a novel signal processing method, which is suitable for processing non-stationary and multi-component signals. Its novelty lies in that the signal whose time-frequency distributions are curved paths can be transformed into that whose time-frequency distributions are linear paths paralleling time axis by using generalized demodulation. In this paper, to deal with the vibration signals under variable working speed condition, the generalized demodulation as well as a band-pass filter is used to separate the interested component from original vibration signal. The analysis results demonstrate the validity of the proposed approach.

In the current techno-savvy world, cybersecurity is a prime concern. Biometrics are being extensively used for authentication and authorization. Face recognition(FR) is a class of biometrics which has proved to be one of the most effective methods for identification and verification, which works even when the subject is unaware of being scanned. This paper gives insight into the use of image processing in Robotic Applications. It discusses the use of computer vision by surveillance robots. Surveillance applications prefer unsupervised learning over supervised learning as unsupervised learning doesn't require true labels. The burgeoning demand for unsupervised learning in surveillance applications proffered the nub of this project. The paper coalesces the well-known similarity algorithm SSIM with Spectral Clustering to produce prodigious results. SSIM surpasses other techniques like MSE by extracting structural features from images. This leads to a significant improvement in performance because humans also extract structural information from visuals. SSIM eliminates the effect of illumination and then uses the attributes that depict the structure of objects to gain the desired structural information. The performance of the proposed model was compared with other similarity measures on the ORL(Olivetti Research Laboratory Cambridge), Caltech and Faces96 datasets. An accuracy of 89.5% was achieved on the ORL and 88.3% on the Caltech and 86.7% on the Faces96 dataset (C) 2018 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Ltd.

Due to high dynamic range, high overlap, low concentricity and limited computation of the driverless intelligent vehicles, it is hard to implement global path planning and local adjustment under multi-objects and multi-obstacle state. To deal with the above problems, this paper presents a fresh idea that is to transfer the main object of intelligent drive from the car to the road and by using dynamic virtual scees and edge computation to construct the smart road which applies the smart car to the road. Based on this, this paper proposes a path planning method that integrates the vision and satellite convolutional neural network for automatic drive system and explores the distortion of visual image and the redundant processing mechanism of automatic drive. What's more, this paper structures the multi-dimensional data compensatory strategies in view of convolutional neural network and boosts the optimal identification of signs in intelligent roads for the intelligent car. Ultimately, this paper is to achieve intelligent global path planning by fusing satellite navigation and vision navigation.
