In the process of collecting or transmitting images, various noise interferences are often introduced, especially in a multi-image sensor network, and noise has an important influence on subsequent imageprocessing. Gaussian noise is a common noise in such systems. In order to filter Gaussian noise better, the neighborhood gray level difference weight matrix is proposed and applied to the Pulse-coupled neural network (PCNN). The matrix corresponds to the coupling-connection matrix of the PCNN and is determined by the related constraint relationship. From the perspective of image pixels, the neighborhood gray level difference weight matrix can adaptively change the gray level of the noisy pixels in the center of the neighborhood and improve the correlation of pixel gray levels in the neighborhood. From the macro perspective, the introduction of the neighborhood gray level difference weight matrix converts the image denoising process into a two-dimensional convolution operation. When the initial conditions are determined, parallel processing can be realized, which greatly improves the efficiency of the algorithm. These advantages make the proposed algorithm can be better combined with CNN and other networks as the front-end denoising module of these networks. The specific experiments show that the denoising effect of this algorithm is better, especially under the higher variance Gaussian noise.

In particular, they show that some of the approaches are inadequate for an exact localization of the corner. Reliable image matching is important to many problems in computervision, imageprocessing and pattern recognition. Hausdorff distance and many of its variations have been employed for image matching with success. In this paper we propose an improved image matching method based on a modified Hausdorff distance with normalized gradient consistency measure. The proposed new image matching algorithm integrates the geometric Hausdorff distance with the photometric intensity gradient information to obtain a better image similarity measure. To show the improvement of the proposed algorithm, we test it with some previous image matching methods on the problem of face recognition under lighting changes. Many approaches in computervision require multiple retrievals of histograms for rectangular patches of an input image. In 2005 an algorithm to accelerate these retrievals was presented. The data structure utilized is called Integral Histogram, which was based on the well known Integral image. In this paper we propose a novel approximating method to obtain these integral histograms that outperforms the original algorithm and reduces computational cost to more than a tenth. Alongside we will show that our adaptive approach still provides reasonable accuracy which allows dramatic performance improvements for real-time applications while still being well suited for numerous computervision tasks.

According to gestalt psychology theory, the human brain merges and simplifies unrelated units by some relations through eyes for subsequent cognition. We introduce a new segmentation framework based on gestalt psychology in this paper. An input image is first divided into visual patches using two gestalt principles, similarity and proximity, by a clustering method, and then the visual patches are grouped to form soft tissues by a classification step using the spatial relationship and texture features. We evaluated the proposed method using TCIA database at both sectional level and volumetric level. The experimental results demonstrated the efficiency and robustness of the presented method and indicated its promising applications in the field of medical imageprocessing.
