With the exponentially increased users of wireless communication, a large numbers of wireless networks coexists in 2400 MHz Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM) band. The IEEE 802.15.4 Wireless sensor networks with their low power consumption and low cost advantages are widely adopted in low data rate industrial and consumer applications. The Wi-Fi, IEEE 802.11b/g offers high data rate and larger range. Both these technologies co-exist in ISM Band. The Wi-Fi signals having high signal strength interfere with the weak signals of IEEE 802.15.4, which degrades the throughput performance of IEEE 802.15.4 Wireless sensor networks. It results in a coexistence with non-cooperation. The authors developed a Frame Converter System to establish co-operative coexistence between IEEE 802.15.4 and IEEE 802.11b/g networks. The frame converter is implemented at the Media Access control Layer using ARM7 processor. It converts the frames of IEEE 802.15.4 network to frames WiFi and WiFi to IEEE 802.15.4.

Aiming at the problems of susceptibility to interference in the flight attitude measurement of quad-rotor UAV, large errors in attitude calculation and attitude control output, the goal is to control the flight attitude stability. This paper designs a kind of STM32 series single-chip microcomputer as the main control chip, using six-axis attitude sensor MPU-6050, BMP180 barometer, 2.4GHz wireless communication chip nRF24L01, and gyroscope acceleration sensor as the main hardware architecture, real-time acquisition of aircraft attitude information, and combined The complementary filtering algorithm based on quaternion and the cascade PID control algorithm respectively solve the attitude information and control the output. Finally, a single-axis debugging platform is used to debug the quad-rotor aircraft. The results show that this quadrotor has good performance, stable flight attitude, and can achieve one-button take-off and landing with high real-time performance.

The concept of Industry 4.0 is closely associated with the development of new innovative computing methods such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and Cloud computing, and new visualization and measurement procedures that have enabled continuous control and monitoring in industry. This paper presents a 'robotic inspection system' for geomet-ric inspection of the dimensions of a mechanical components. These systems, consisting of a robot and a line-triangulation laser sensor, support online quality control of the manufactured product with minimal assistance. The proposed work seeks to overcome and combine a traditional inspection system with neural network methods. In fact, both the acquired profiles and the geometric value expected from the profile measurement, are used to train a linear regression neural network model that in output provided the value of the measurement itself. In order to verify the performance, a numerical simulation model is implemented to provide different profile. This method enables the quality control of the component to be independent from the skill and competence of the human operator. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper, an image encryption algorithm on the basis of cellular neural networks (CNN) and compressive sensing (CS) is proposed. Firstly, four CNN with hyper chaotic behavior is introduced to generate chaotic sequence. Then, the index of the sorted chaotic sequence is used to control the generation of measurement matrix in CS procedure. Moreover, Lissajous map is served to produce asymptotic deterministic random measurement matrix instead of the common random measurement matrix. In addition, the chaotic sequence is normalized to 8-bit integer to diffuse the result after applying CS operation on the plain image, and the image after compression and encryption is obtained. The simulation results and analysis verify the proposed algorithm owns good security and ideal performance.

Wireless sensor network (WSN) technologies are in an expansion because of their high capability and performance. However, this type of networks has a low power storage capacity and the replacement of power resources might be difficult due to the hostile environment where they, usually, operate. The transmission power, load traffic distribution and communication security are three, necessary and most energy consuming aspects in WSNs. In this paper, we present a game theoretic approach for routing with the purpose of optimizing energy consumption while using a security layer. To achieve this goal we propose an algorithm which control the transmission power, balance the load traffic and secure the interactions using elliptic curves digital signature (ECDSA).

This paper proposes an process/environmental parameters monitoring framework based on Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) using embedded systems. The developed system will have many applications particularly in the area of aquaculture, tea plantations, vineyards, precision agriculture, green houses monitoring etc. The complexity of the system increases for applications involving aquaculture. The developed systems are tailored for sensing in wide farmland's without (or) very little human supervision. The fully designed and developed system consists of sensors for monitoring the parameters, sensor node with wireless network topology, gateway for collecting the information from the sensor node and transmitting the information to the central control unit. Data base, real-time monitoring and visualization facilities, controlling of sensor nodes and sensors are provided at the central control unit. sensor nodes, sensor assembly and gateways should with stand demanding environmental conditions like rain, dust, heat, moisture, relative humidity etc. With these systems deployed in large farm's bodies the scientist's will have more and more field data with very little human intervention. The acquired data can be used to provide quantitative indications about the farm's status, thus easy for analysis and decision making. In this paper we are focusing our discussion about WSNs in the field of aquaculture.

Aiming at the problem that the multi-hop range-free wireless localization algorithm is sensitive to the influence of the anisotropic sensor network factors, we propose a new approach for localization in wireless sensor networks based on regularization algorithm. We first construct the mapping model using the hop-counts and the distance between anchors, and regularization algorithm is used to describe the optimal linear transformations between the hop-counts and the distance. We then use the hop-counts of no-anchors to anchors and this mapping model to the locations of the non-anchors. We evaluate our algorithm under irregular distribution of nodes and the uneven deployment of nodes, and analyze its performance. We also compare our approach with several existing approaches, and demonstrate our proposed algorithm can effectively avoid the network anisotropy.

As consistent time scale is essential to facilitate group operations and improve network performance, time synchronization is regard as a critical piece of infrastructure for distributed network measurement and control systems, especially for wireless sensor networks (WSNs). However, existing time synchronization algorithms for WSNs either do not provide enough scalability to achieve compatibility with other sync protocols, or do not fully take into account the characteristics of WSNs. This paper proposes a time synchronization method (TSM) to achieve precise time synchronization and reach the frequency drift compensation in WSNs at the same time. Evaluations show that TSM synchronizes wireless sensor nodes precisely with a magnitude of microsecond. Moreover, it has a good performance of stability and energy efficient. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.
