With the advent of the data-driven economy, most organizations rely on their data resources to gain a competitive advantage against competitors and to support daily operations. However, due to much attention is given to the big data fad, practitioners from various organizations face challenges in identifying which appropriate tool is worth including in the technology adoption strategies. This paper would like to address the challenges mentioned by conducting a comparative analysis of the selected Apache Hadoop-based big data tools based on the comprehensive review of current technical articles and the perceptions of various datascience practitioners with the end goal of providing a clear cut discussion of the applicability of each tool.
