internet of Things(IoT) emerges as a revolutionary technology since the last double decade. internet of things has changed many aspects of the human. IoT has changed leaving styles and health care with the help of smart health care technologies like wearable devices. IoT has changed the power distribution mechanism in the smart grid environment where surplus renewable energy generated at the house or energy farm can also be distributed using a multi-dimensional grid and smart meters. One of the most beneficial aspects of IoT has emerged in the field of agriculture, wherewith the help of moisture and fertility sensor, the farmer can identify the need for fertilizer, quality of pesticides, quality of land, land moisture, and so on. Farmers can control the water distribution from home using smart sprinkling as well as pesticides sprinkling using IoT based drones. IoT makes use of light-weight communication with the motive of the reduction of extra overhead generated in regular internet communication. For to simplify and make faster communication IoT uses protocols like MQTT (Message queuing telemetry transport), COAP (Constrained Application Protocol), XMPP (Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol), REST (Representational State Transfer) and so on. The most famous protocol in the IoT communication at the application layer is the MQTT protocol, which makes use of TCP as an underlying transport layer protocol for the transmission. TCP based interface makes it more reliable protocol as well as a small header of MQTT protocol makes it suitable for IoT Eco-system, In this chapter, We have discussed the IoT, industry 4.0, impact of IoT on industry 4.0, MQTT Protocol, MQTT security aspects, Survey on various protocols used for to make MQTT Communication in a secured manner. Use of electricity is on a rage nowadays, man has now been dependent on electrically operated machines to do all of his daily routine tasks. As the use of electricity has increased to a huge deal, the outdated power system of Pakistan needs to be improved. Currently analog and digital meters are being used in Pakistan which decreases their accuracy by time. Furthermore, these meters have no safety features and cannot be integrated to distributed generation. The proposed system is wirelessly interconnected to allow remote control and monitoring to manage energy at distribution end. It is also capable to provide improved efficiency, better security and user-friendly control as compared to old conventional systems. © 2019 IEEE.

Water shortage is fast becoming one of the biggest crises of this century. The recent, exponential rise in adoption of the most disparate internet of Things (IoT) devices and technologies has reached also Water supply chains, drumming up substantial research and innovation interest towards developing reliable, auditable and transparent traceability systems. Current IoT-based traceability and provenance systems for water supply chains are built on top of centralized infrastructures and this leaves room for unsolved issues and major concerns, including data integrity, tampering and single points of failure. Blockchains, the distributed ledger technology underpinning cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, represent a new and innovative technological approach to realizing decentralized trustless systems. This will also eliminate corruption due to unmaintained record of sources. Indeed, the inherent properties of this digital technology provide fault-tolerance, immutability, transparency and full traceability of the stored transaction records, as well as coherent digital representations of physical assets and autonomous transaction executions. This paper presents Aqua-chain, a fully decentralized, blockchain-based traceability solution for Water supply chain management, able to seamless integrate IoT devices producing and consuming digital data along the chain. To effectively assess Aqua-chain, first, we defined a classical use-case within the given vertical domain, namely from-supplier-to-buyer. Then, we developed and deployed such use-case, achieving traceability using blockchain implementation, Ethereum. Finally, we evaluated and compared the performance deployments, in terms of latency, CPU, and network usage, also highlighting its main pros and cons. © 2019 IEEE.

With the advancement of power reform, the scale of inter-provincial power trading in the East China region has been increasing, the scale of transactions has been expanding. More and more parameters arc being considered, and the calculation processing logic is more and more complicated. In order to cope with the situation that the market rules change too fast and the complexity is too high, the East China Power Trading System will introduce a distributed technology architecture based on cloud computing and microservices. However, this process from the single-element architecture to the distributed architecture puts higher demands on the multi-task scheduling processing mechanism of the system. Based on the analysis of East China Power Market Trading Business and East China Power Market Trading System, this paper proposes a task scheduling solution based on distributed control strategy with reference to the solution ideas of the internet industry. It solves the scheduling problem of mutual exclusion tasks by using the improved Leader election method and effectively avoids the brain crack problem of the Leader election. Based on this distributed task processing strategy, this paper further elaborates the corresponding engineering solutions. It includes the specific implementation contents of task management interface, task scheduling center, task scheduling client and abnormal monitoring function in East China Power Market Trading System, so as to facilitate the practical application of system design and development personnel in system construction. In addition, the program also proved the feasibility of the program through stress testing and application practice.

Dearth of fresh water worldwide has given rise to solemn alarms since a decade. Economical administration of water resources plays a critical role when it is mainly with reference to the agriculture zone. Irrigation is generally functions along with canal plan by which water is pumped up into fields once at regular period of time according to farmers habitual ways without appropriate measurements with none feedback of water level in field. This kind of irrigation method will definitely hinder the crop growth and health and produces a poor yield as a result of some crops area component too susceptible to water content in soil. The ingenuous ICT technique presents an insolent system that uses minimum value soil wetness sensing element and temperature sensing element to manage facility in water shortage regions. The sensor, those vocations on the standard of moisture reliant resistance amendment between two points within the soil, is invented with the help of low cost materials and ways. Moisture and temperature knowledge is fetched from a sensing element node is distributed through an Arduino to a centralized server that controls facility. An automaton application is developed to envision the daily wetness and temperature knowledge. Moreover, the planned wetness sensing and temperature sensing ways have the power to be incorporated into machine-controlled which is automatic irrigation theme and perform automated, exactness agriculture in conjunction with de-centralized water management system. Application results illustrate that system through the embedded controlled technology which makes it complete intelligent irrigation, enhance the agricultural produce and improve soil health by irrigation, the water is used fruitfully and irrigation system automation is achieved mostly in all aspects.

In response to the demand of the development of energy internet for the comprehensive perception and wide interconnection of massive data of power system, the concept of ubiquitous power internet of things(UPIoT), which comes from the deep integration of internet of things technology and smart grid, has been put forward, becoming an important content and key link in the transformation and upgrading of power grid enterprises. The centralized computing mode previously adopted by smart grid can no longer meet the needs of large-scale computing and rapid response, so the ubiquitous power internet of things should adopt the operation mode combining centralized computing and distributed computing. Firstly, this paper discusses the basic concepts and main characteristics of ubiquitous power internet of things. Based on edge computing, this paper constructs the basic architecture of substation internet of things composed of perception layer, network layer, platform layer and application layer. Secondly, it discusses the key technologies in the construction of substation internet of things, and finally analyzes the specific application of edge computing in the construction of substation internet of things. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

internet of Things (IoT) is an interconnected network of heterogeneous things through the internet. The current and next generation of e-health systems are dependent on IoT devices such as wireless medical sensors. One of the most important applications of IoT devices in the medical field is the usage of these smart devices for emergency healthcare. In the current interconnected world, Bluetooth technology plays a vital role in communication due to its less resource consumption which suits the IoT architecture and design. However Bluetooth technology does not come without security flaws. The existence of bounded data and unbounded data gives a great challenge for data processing in smart cities. The wide application of the internet of things (IoT) makes the data amount rapidly increase. This leads to further raise the requirement for data processing in smart cities, especially the demand for low latency and abundant data in real-time video services. To solve this problem, a Flink based framework with smart city adaption is proposed. A mathematical model for data processing in smart cities is formulated. Through this model's solution, the path with the minimum resource occupancy ratio (ROR) is obtained. The superiority and feasibility of our work are validated via numerical simulation and prototype implementation, respectively.

The rapid development of internet technology makes the hacker's attack more mature and diversified. One of the most serious security problems is distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack. In order to cope with information security issues, a new form of defensive thinking, moving target defense (MTD), has been proposed. The emergence of new network architecture software defined network (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV) - has also changed the future of network security schemes. In this paper, an SDN/NFV-based moving target DDoS defense mechanism using multiple fuzzy systems and a proxy virtual network function (VNF) is proposed to achieve DDoS detection and mitigation. The experimental results show that the proposed mechanism can redirect suspicious traffic and quarantine it, thereby shifting the attack surface.

With the popularity of the internet of things (IoT), 5G technology needs to meet various requirements of a large number of IoT applications. Mobile edge computing (MEC) is a promising approach in 5G scenario, which can solve the problems of resource shortage and high latency. Computation offloading is a key technology to reduce latency and energy consumption in MEC. In this paper, we consider a scenario with a dense distribution of edge nodes, namely multi-edge server distribution, and focus on the offloading problem in the overlapping coverage area of service scope. We build a two-step game model using the stochastic game theory. We pay attention to the relevance of state transition, that is, the cost of the next state is taken into account when making decisions in current state. In addition, we prove the existence of Nash Equilibrium (NE) by the concept of exact potential game, then propose the best response based on stochastic game (BRSG) algorithm to solve the problem. Numerical results illustrate that our algorithm can reach a NE through finite number of iterations, and an equilibrium strategy can be obtained. Besides, considering the state correlation makes the equilibrium cost significantly lower. © 2019 IEEE.
